I have played this a bunch recently and it still got legs. I have a playmat, the meeple workers, metal coins and plastic markers to make it pop even more. A guy in my game group played this with me and went home to his wife and gushed about it. When he got the game his wife was highly critical since it didn´t have all the upgrades and said: - Why did you get the cheap version? 😂
Lord of Waterdeep is indeed a timeless classic. Sounds like you have really upgraded the components on this one. I guess your friend can use his wife's reaction to upgrade his too! It's always nice to play with nice components. Thanks for the comment!
Great playthrough as usual. I really appreciate how you cover older classics and don't just do commercials for "FOMO/cult of the new" stuff. Thanks again!
Thanks Jon! Really glad you liked it. We like to make videos of games that we like to play because hopefully our enjoyment will come across in the playthrough. There are still a lot of older games that we would love to cover so you will definitely see more, though we will do some more recent ones too. Hope you had a very Merry Christmas and we wish you and your family all the best for the New Year! Cheers!
Hi Chris. Thank you for your comment. It seems that the expansion is really good, so hopefully we will get a chance to try it out some time. Hope you had a very Happy Christmas and we wish you all the best for the New Year!
Thank you for another wonderful playthrough. This is one of my favorite games of all time. We bought it years ago (and the expansion) and have played it more than most games. We stopped playing for a while, but just recently got it back to the table. Thank you for a wonderful year of entertainment and fun with all your amazing videos. Hope you have a great holiday season.
@@chrisw942 Could not agree more. This is just one of those games that I never tire of playing. Our last game was so tight in scoring. We played three player and ended up within five points of each other.
Hi Greg. Once again, it is great to read your comment, and we are delighted that you enjoyed this playthrough too. Nice to hear that you got Lords of Waterdeep back to the table. Thank you for all of your support and we wish you a wonderful Christmas and an amazing 2023. Cheers!
Hi Pat and Glai: Thanks for the exciting playthrough. Congrats to Glai on the win. Wow, over 200 points! This was the first time I've watched a playthrough of Lords of Waterdeep. What a great game. I love the game's components. Really nice artwork. Both of you did a great job explaining the game. I want to thank you for another year of great videos and to wish both of you a Merry Christmas. I always come away feeling happier after visiting your channel. Thanks Again, Keith
Hi Keith! We're really glad you liked the video. Thank you very much for your comment. We're glad that our channel brings you some happiness, and I have to say that reading your comments always brings us joy too. We hope you had a really nice Christmas, and we wish you all the best for the New Year! Really looking forward to hearing from you again in 2023. All the best!
Hi j s . Thanks for letting us know with the timecode. I have made a note in the Klingon subtitles so hopefully that will help people who are learning the game. Cheers!
Thanks a lot Rodney. Really glad to hear that you enjoy our playthroughs. I'm sure you will have a fun time with Lords of Waterdeep. Let us know what you think when you get around to playing it! We wish you a very Happy New Year!
Haha - I think you should let Mrs. H have what she wants! Happy wife happy life! :-) I would think that the Carcassonne Big Box would be awesome too. I haven't played with any expansions but would very much like to try. Hope you and your family had a great Christmas Ian, and we wish you all the best for 2023! Thanks for all of your support with your kind comments on our channel!
@@AllAboardBoardgames yes, on our wedding day my dad gave me some sage advise: “you’re only there to make the numbers up” and “you’ll always be wrong even when you’re right!”, he was speaking with 44 years experience, lol. In the new year I’ll place an order for the Big Box version - happily my sister-in-law got me some vouchers for the games shop! We played one of the expansions with out games group and it added a fun dimension to it so quite eager to try some of the other expansions. Hoping you both are having a good festive season and many thanks for all the splendid videos - both entertaining and educational (the best way to learn new things).

Haha - I guess we must have!! Really happy to hear that you enjoyed our video. Did you get around to playing it yet? Thanks a lot for the subscription!
Hi Andrew! Really glad you enjoyed it. Glai's score was very impressive indeed. It looked closer earlier on, but a couple of big quest scores really pushed her out in front. Hope you had a great Christmas, and we wish you all the best for 2023!
Hi Stephen! Thanks for the comment. Really glad you liked the playthrough. I first heard of this game on Wil Wheaton's Tabletop too. His show was great. It's a pity they stopped making them. Hope you are having a great festive season! Cheers!
47:15 you can continue to build buildings even if all the spaces for buildings are filled. One just finds a space near the board, or on it to place a building.
Hi Steve. Yes, at 8:56 Pat went to Castle Waterdeep and took the action to gain the first player, which is why he went first at 14:00. You are absolutely correct about being able to continue building when all the spaces are filled up. We do have a note about it in the Klingon subtitles. Thanks for your comments. Hope you enjoyed the video! Cheers!
Nice playthrough. Really enjoyed it. However, you are not restricted to the number of building spaces on the board. You can continue to build even when these spaces are full. With her 6 point per Building Lord, Glai could have won by even more😄
Hi eebo63. Thanks a lot for your comment. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our video. Thanks also for letting us know that. For some reason we assumed that the number of spaces for buildings limited the number of buildings you can build, but you are absolutely correct - lucky for me that we did not know, because Glai was already a mile ahead of me on the scoreboard! haha Hope you had a great Christmas!
Those all look like great games, though we haven't played any of them yet. Mage Knight looks particularly good, so I think that we might take your advice there and get a copy of the game for a playthrough in the New Year. Thanks for all your comments. They really are always very nice to read.
