I don't know about other people but I find small cars really cute and nice. I hate driving big cars, but it's all fun and spacious when I'm not driving. The interior is also so cute and unique
I have a Smart and live in a rural area. I wish you had said the Smart makes complete sense in this environment too. Since I always drive alone the Smart makes perfect eco sense anywhere. That was an awful comment you made about looking elsewhere for a frugal car because the Smart requires premium gasoline. Smart states that premium fuel extends the range of MPG's. And premium is the "most nutritious" gasoline for any car so it should be used anyway. I'd like to see a photo of the million dollar parking space. And generally speaking, our cities are overcrowded because people have too many babies--the worst thing for our environment.

I got passion smart 4 two I love it it's economical it's automatically it's orange I love it it turns on a sixpence it has sports mode for overtaking if u need it .loads room in the boot .

I already own a 2010 Passion CDi, so was hoping that the new 2016 model would continue with the diesel option. The diesel offers supreme fuel economy, and was the main reason i have not bought the newer model.
One complaint from me ... why don't they offer what I would call a "normal automatic transmission" (without any clutch or shifting). I hate manual cars, even though I know they can add speed.

Where one has to pay extra attention when hand washing the car as not to smooth out the matte finish. I understand that for the Hyundai, they give you a special hand washing kit and make you sign a document stating that improperly washing it will ruin the finish. Or with the Smart you tested, the plastic panel is actual grey plastic. If it's just grey plastic, then I would go that route. The only thing one has to worry about is the painted Tridion Cell.

The auto version I have with 2017 petrol version best. Who wants to keep changing gears. If you want to override the twin auto clutch just use the paddles behind your steering wheel. My car in 999cc bhp good forget what and it turns on a pin even in narrow English country roads so you never feel you have to go endless miles in wrong direction if you take a wrong turn. It takes little fuel and feels economic if you a good driver and dont drive using your break 24/7 but drive in a mindful manner.
For less money, I can buy a Honda Fit that seats 5 people, has more cargo space and drives more miles per galon. The Smart for two should be cheaper in proportion to what it gives.

I'm mechanically incline and these cars have a very poor design . For example to change a thermostat on this car is a nightmare not to mention they cost $200.00. The starter, try to find a rebuilt starter because the new ones are just crazy expensive. The starter is very very badly designed , they can't last the cables are exposed so the corrosion set in and you have to change the whole starter. If you could get brushes for the starter then you could change the cables but never the less who in the world would have such a bad design . If the car worked half the time it would not be so bad. I had mind up to 45,000 KM's and was always broken I never seen such a poor design . The other thing is the gas millage a Toyota Yaris as better millage and a much better car. The resale value is worth nothing for these cars. The car it self was fun to drive specially down town parking was a joke. But they are always broken can;t rely on them. Like the rebuilt starters there is hardly none available because they all lose there cables. I guaranty that anyone who as one of these will have starter problem and that;s only the beginning . A SMART car top of the line AC , Blue tuth, mags, gas, passion coup 4 years old 45000 km's $4000.00 and that is in immaculate shape I wouldn't pay $1000.00 IN MY OPINION THIS IS THE WORST CAR ON THE MARKET TODAY. Don't take my word ask anyone who as one for more then five years. The list goes on the actuator is another problem these are not automatic they have an automatic clutch not the same thing. The older diesel models would heat up in 6th gear . I repair car and this is the worst car out there today. The other thing is when we have certain problems with car we call the dealership for advice and always get it but Mercedes wont give us the time of day.

Between the Jetta TDI , Toyota Echo , Toyota Yaris the smart as the worst miles per gallon. There is a video on you tube about that and many other places. This car is just about the worst car on the market today maybe even worst then your Dart. Again before buying one of these maybe ask a regular garage mechanic what they think of it , I promise that they will say to stay away from these cars (unless they are a car dealership) . If you go see a mechanic while driving your Smart car they might not say what they really think since you own one. PEOPLE NO JOKE STAY AWAY FROM THESE YOU WILL REGRET YOUR PURCHASE.
One more thing , dealers don't even sell these trade in anymore they send them to the auction to get rid of them fast. Its just bad to sell a car that is always broken . Yes first three years under warranty car works great because the dealers knows what to do to keep them going like clean the actuator , clean the corrosion on the starter contacts and cables. Just take a look on you tube on how to replace a thermostat its on you tube because they are almost impossible to replace . Look on you tube how to clean the actuator because they seize up. Look on you tube how bad the starters are made its unbelievable how someone could have such a design . So if you are a real good mechanic with a car lift you wont even be able to keep up with repairs this is how bad the Smart car is. I gave you full of option to verify , so please do all those before saying you have a good car. Go and take a look at all these things like the thermostat , starter , actuator not to mention the price. Another example is try to find a rebuild starter for a Smart car , almost none existent because they can't keep up with the demands .
matt k the front seats are great. I test drove a forfour last week and loved the little dinky car so i ordered one (brabus sport premium plus )and I'll be using that for my supermarket shopping and will leave my cumbersome AMG for highway cruising
Haha love it. The butt cannot lie. Mine has heated leather seats. Are they the same ones that you tried. The one I tried was a forfour passion with adjustable but non heated seats. I read somewhere that the leather ones can be a bit slippery
No they were the base cloth seats, i didn't try the leather. I was getting my car serviced at the benz dealer and they had one out front. The leather may be more comfortable
