- I'VE GOT BETTER VIDEOS TO POST AFTER THIS ATROCITY! This is probably my most disappointing PSA reveal. I did a bad job selecting cards and I think I also got a very grumpy PSA grader! ENJOY THE FRUSTRATION WITH ME!
I think he’s punking us with these openings. Must have hit the lottery. Keep sharing for entertainment!! Thx
No lottery and I'm trying to get better! I'm happy to share the entertainment for all and maybe I'll get luckier over the next few months. I'll keep the videos coming. Cheers!
Never touched air … what does that even mean? You think because they have never been handled they will be 9-10? Every one of those are OC top to bottom and 1986 is notoriously tough to grade
Exactly!!!!!!!
I found out the hard way like you. I sent in some 80’s and 90’s that I looked over carefully with a loupe and light. They were all mostly perfect centering and I got mostly 9’s and 8’s. PSA is controlling the pop count on older cards.
I'm starting to think maybe this is some joke we haven't been let in on yet?
lol, he said it on another vid he's mostly doing this for fun.
I couldn’t believe it when I opened youtube and he had posted another one of these. It’s painful to watch
The first few cards are way off center, then @4:07 "These cards are as sharp as can be." Top right corner with obvious whiting. I don't think you understand how grading works.
Sorry for wasting my time ? Some of the most entertaining content out there. Thanks beekeeper, be keeping them coming.
PSA graders are famously inconsistent. But, it's nearly impossible to get high grades on those 86 Topps - so you should be pleased with any and all 8s, 9s and 10s. The black edges are super condition sensitive. Check all around the edges - not just corners - you're going to get dinged for any and all chipping to that black ink. And even though they were in a sealed box for 30+ years, it also doesn't eliminate the visible centering flaws. My buddy Chris had the same thing happen to him with his '86 Topps Jody Davis. Thought it was a 10, came back a 2. He was furious! But you've still got some iconic cards in this batch.
Thats right pal. I got hosed on the Jody Davis but you're being overly dramatic. It was a PSA 4. Definitely thought is was a 10 though. Keep your headup BeeKeeper. Set builders are always out there looking for card in every condition. Don't forget about "Rainbow collectors," that try and get a card in every grade. They're out there and often times you can set your own price if it's a low pop card!
Why does it take so long to get cards graded at PSA? Some guy keeps grading 150+ cards worth 25 cents.
Probably the best comment on here....
Curious, do you follow other people and whatever they spend money on are you there to criticize them on how they spend money that is not yours? I am questioning how much do you grade that this video bothers you that much.
Thank you for sharing. I always like watching your videos.
No you don’t.
I think you just got a bad grader man, keep submitting! Eventually you will get the right one!
Fair grades. Just because the cards were protected and/or pack fresh doesn't mean high grades. I open so many 1980s Topps football wax boxes and I get very few if not any psa 10 worthy cards. Pack fresh back then was averaging PSA 6s and 7s.
Most of those are definitely 10s, and some look like they might even be a black label. You need them bad boys and resubmit them to PSA
Thank you for sharing
WOW..... crazy return bro! 🔥 👊 🔥
Lmao😂
Thanks for sharing your beekeeper story in the comments. Always been fascinated with bees and honey production. In regards to the video. Psa grading is stressful.
When are you sending in your PC of Sid Bream cards?? Imagine the possibilities if one grades at a 10!
You've got to grade them yourself, stringently, before you send them to PSA. 1986 Topps is difficult to grade because of the black borders. Additionally, for any set you need to determine how they are supposed to be centered. A lot of people tend to miss the t/b centering.
Sweet reveal as always BK. 86 topps is as tough as 71 topps because of those black borders. When you have a moment please settle a bet I have with my my buddy Kip? I say you're an actual beekeeper and he says you're not. I got 20 bucks on this bet BTW! Stay positive!
Love your response - as always!!! 😀. And to settle your bet....congrats, you just won $20!!!! 💸. Yep, I'm an actual avid beekeeper and started my small farm a few years ago and it's SLOWLY getting better. I produce some of the best honey in existence and it's all 'small-batch' production for a small group. My demand is 100x above what I can produce and the honey comes from special hives made in Australia. The honey goes directly from the hive straight into the jar. It's the most pure and unfiltered natural honey possible. It's a fascinating experience I've encountered that I've come to love. To get an idea of the hives I employ on the farm....go to RUclips and type in "FLOW HIVE 2". That is the company that I bought the hives from and you will get a sense of how the hives function and disperse the honey when it's time to produce. They are amazing. Lastly, one of the phrases I use often when people ask about the bees...they ask if I ever get stung. My response is I've been stung by more people than I have bees, that's why I like bees better! 😀🐝🍯
😀@DaveSarra
Nolan Ryan card had corner issues all around.....dude cards have to be at least centered to even get a 9.
1986 Topps is super tough. Get a jewelers loop with built in led light, If you see chipping or corner issues at all don’t grade the card. Psa has tightened their grading standards on vintage as well. I have been using PSA since 1998.
You have no idea how to screen cards do you? Pack fresh doesn't mean you are getting 9s and 10s
Not gonna lie that Nolan Ryan made me laugh
I'm so confused.
86 Topps is known for tough grades due to the black borders, which have lots of chipping on the edges even on fresh from pack cards.
PSA looks at your cards with a magnifying glass...
That was brutal. Some of those deserved better grades but some were deserved.
To say graders are inconsistent….whats the alternative??…you have 10 graders in the room…have them grade those 160 cards…it’s impossible that all 10 graders would have the same grades…human nature…..it also makes sense not to give that many 10,s…alll the 9,s the collectors say…wow…it’s pack fresh…didn’t see anything wrong with it….there wasn’t anything wrong…..its business….everyone chasing the 10,s……
If you’re covering the number you must also cover the wording. We saw the “EX..” and we know what the number is. 😅
It's pronounced Bruce "Soo-ter".
And that Kirby Puckett at the 10 minute mark that came back a 6? Take a close look at the upper right corner....On the Eddie Murray at the 12:30 mark that graded a 5 - look closely at the upper left corner.
I quit sending in cards because there graders are horrible !
You sure know how to waste money on opening packs and grading cards that have no business being graded 99% of the time. Just my opinion. There are worse things to do in life, and if you have fun at the end of the day i guess thats good enough.
Great job contradicting your own point
@wadood8700 I can have an opinion on him opening his cards and getting them graded. I doubt he cares what I think, and you can be his wingman all day if you wish. It's still a waste of money, in my opinion.
Why the Hell does somebody grade a Joe Niekro and Don Sutton from 1986 Topps. U deserved to get 5's sending those cards in to PSA. How dense can u be ?
😀 I've gotta agree with ya! Chalk that one up to a dumb decision. But hey, a "5" for a Sutton and a "5" for a Niekro...that adds up to a "10"....so to help my coping...I will say I got a 10! If you can't beat them, join them! Cheers
Way to waste money on garbage cards.
It looks like those 86 topps have rounded corners. Just because they are fresh from pack does not mean a good grade.
PSA has no business checking the value of the cards they grade, but i heard if they value an expensive card a 10 they will call you and request extra payment or it will be graded as a 9
No, lmao. They just upcharge you if you receive a 10. They don't call or hold cards hostage, lol.
Please Submit Again if your not one of there Buddies one of there Auction buddies forget it no 10 are coming. This company is a Complete joke. I will never give them a nickel of my Money learn the hard way.
