    Octane is not a rating of explosiveness, higher octane is not equal to more power. It is a rating of resistance to combustion. So it doesn't ignite early in your high compression engine

    For the push start question. Yes anything that is a manual transmission can be push started either in neutral or clutched then dump the clutch and it will force the motor to turn over implying you have traction and some speed. Just make sure the key is in and kill switch is off.

    • @Brims-
      @Brims- Год назад +2

      Beat me to it, ALL manual vehicles can indeed be 'push started'. Just simplifying the process here; you turn the ignition on with the correct key, get a rolling speed with clutch pedal/lever pressed and a gear in. Once up to speed, lift the clutch and the vehicle will start.

    i rode daily for 24 years, and never stopped. but just as covid hit, I had a health issue which forced me to give up (adjourn) for which may have been a few weeks, ended up being over two years.
    I have a lot of experience and have even been a dispatch rider in central London, but upon riding my first bike for over 2 years (a Ninja 650 twin) I feel like I've just passed my CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) again. I've ridden for around 50 miles so far, but my throttle work is very jerky and I'm really out of practice.
    I'm finding myself watching a lot of these videos to remind myself that I can ride quickly and safely , like I used to.
    thanks for the help you are giving people like me 🙂

      😂 I know. Some of what he says is just talking out of his a**! Jump starting a motorcycle: He said one should hit the starter after rolling the bike in second gear. 🤣 No. Release the clutch just as one does with any vehicle with a manual transmission. The engine turns over from the vehicle motion and hopefully gets the engine firing when there’s no battery/starter to turn the engine. Pin lock helmet visors: there is no “film” to prevent fogging! The shield has two layers in the viewable area. The air between the two sandwiched layers of shield prevents “fogging”. The outer layer gets cold. The inner layer gets warm from your breath. But, the air between them mitigates the temperature and humidity contrast like insulation so no condensation appears on the shield. In many areas about motorcycles he’s no expert at all. He’s a video creator and his topic is motorcycles. He knows little more about motorcycles than the average beginning rider. His skill is video creation and editing. Factual content is tertiary.

    Pushstarting a bike can be done, kindoff. For very small CC ancient single cilindre yes. for a more modern one- you could do the stator thing yammie mentioned, or put it in 2 gear, push with the clutch in , push push push pushpushpush. slowly release the clutch and vroom. the more complex electronic the bike has the less likely this is to work, especially if your battery is apsolutely completely caput. (not mostly drained but completely dead). even my carburated Non electronic packed 250 skipped a fiew sparks every so often untill I changed the battery.

    Loved the ? about dealers allowing test rides! My 1st few bikes I had to bite the bullet and hope my research paid off. But on my latest purchase that as usual I fully researched I was able to give the bike a fair test! I explained to the salesman that my last bike was a Yamaha tracer 900. And told him how much I had ridden THAT bike. He didn't blink. He threw me the keys for the Triumph 800 I wanted to buy. He asked if I had gear or needed to borrow gear. Of course I had my own. You Can't blame the dealer for Not just letting ANYONE on a bike. But if you have an MC endorsed DL, gear and knowledge about bikes you should be fine. I mean really, if Eddie Murphy comes in talkin shit about how much he rode but doesnt know shit about bikes the salesman can tell. They just wanna know you are qualified in my opinion...

    Hey I know yami won’t respond but probably experience riders can but is it normal to have my visor up all the time while riding because I always have it up cuz whenever I get to a red light it just gets steamed up and I can’t see is there any thing what u do or is it normal to have the viser up a lot and only put it down when I go on fast roads also I’m only 16 so I have a ped which goes a whopping 30mph is it because I can’t go fast enough for the air to unsteam the helmet or is it just normal for people to have it up unless there going really fast

    Yo Yammie, I just moved to Cali as an international student and after some calculations I realised that the cheapest way to get a means of transportation is getting a motorcycle. Now I realise the R6 is way out of the question since I'd die on the 2nd day, but do you have any recommendations around $3k? I know its not much but I have to pay college in full so I cant splurge on anything just yet. Also I like the look of cafe racers and sports bikes. I will be using the bike to commute like 10 mins every day and or cruise with some friends in the evening.

    • @jakegarrett8109
      @jakegarrett8109 Год назад +2

      You can rev match even on a potato Harley, these are continuously meshing sequential gears, they are NOT the same as car transmissions. Doesn't matter if you have 0.5 HP or 500, if they have a standard motorcycle transmission then its better to not use the clutch when shifting (wears out the clutch and that throws contaminants into your oil wearing everything), the only times you might use it are between gears 1 and 2 since that's often a large jump.
