Could be a full pedal build of 16’, with a nice 32’ Bombarde. The upper work sounds so very full and sparkling with grand foundation stops and a crowning of a mixture of some sort. Wish I was more familiar with the stoplist of that organ. So very potent!
Powerful and utterly atrocious. Why this idiot is using 32ft reeds in the opening verse to O Come All Ye Faithful I don’t know… It’s not pleasant as is the case with most services from St John the Divine
@@mattporter1692 idiot is a strong word, Matt. Why would you feel the need to dump on someone else who is playing as he/she feels led to play at a given moment in a given space with a given instrument? Whatever happened to: "if you don't have something good to say, better to say nothing at all." If you are unhappy, don't try to make everyone else feel just as bad as you. I enjoyed the video.

Echoing the last post, what in God’s name did the illustrious leadership at SJTD do with the pews?? And to replace them with cheap, ugly chairs that look like they belong at a beach?? As a cradle Episcopalian, I find this trend to be mostly pointless, ugly
It’s so untraditional isn’t it?! I so so fully agree. As far as that being a historical church, I can’t believe they got rid of a piece of that history. 😕

My sister used to this church. The intro abd interlude were too long, noisy and cluttered with unnecessary notes that were probably not on the musical page.
Always seems to be the case with the organ at St John the Divine. I find it utterly horrendous. The organ is outrageously over sized…as seems to be the case with many American Churches for whatever reason. This is just not pleasant.
This Skinner organ and it's trumpets and reeds were made by a master organ builder
This is the best song of Christmas Eve
Not a "song"; it's a HYMN!
Those pedal reeds on that instrument are so POWERFUL!!!!!!

@@macongahg I’m glad you enjoyed it. I certainly didn’t. It’s utterly horrid.
I feel the presence of God
If sound and volume be synonymous with God I suppose. I think it's a little too much. One can overdo it. This does.
The song is titled, O Come All Ye Faithful.
This is amazing!

Such a holy place
Thanks for the version by Sir David Willcocks !
Beautiful thank you 😊
Amazing
What in the world happened to the pews?

The church is used for many and varied situations. The pews get in the way of that
🙄🙄🙄 then you’re there to complain, not to worship.
I’m far from religious, by whether you sit in a chair or a pew, why are you actually there?

I think the timing is out towards the end.
Your probably right but a building the size of St John's must have his problems with the actual acoustic itself !
Why so much security never see em in church’s in uk
Is there a recording of the full mass?

What’s the arrangement for the last two verses?

Mass? Where are the pews??
Noisy, too much noise.

Great organ but then the smoking cannon ball…
