Zach Hill prologue is before uncharted 1, thats how nate knows what a panamanian jail looks like cuz it says 13 years later so that probably happened 13 years before and uncharted 4 takes place 4-6 years after uncharted 1,2 and 3
Chloe is such a great character in Uncharted 2. She handles the “love triangle” with Nate and Elena really maturely. And I love how she’s like “let’s be honest, you’re gonna miss this ass” 😂😂😂

very good point! i also love that in the end of the game nate tells sam that he and elena still have "a lot to talk about", because it shows that the fact that he betrayed her trust the way he did isn't something that's so easily forgiven and forgotten, and their relationship wasn't just magically 100% okay again

1:57:15 "these are the greatest pirates that ever lived sat at this table.. and they all perished in an instant".. You can just see Elena, cloudy eyed and staring at Nate with a look of love and empathy .. Knowing that no matter how much Nate says that it's not about the treasure, she still understands how passionate Nate truly is about this. It's almost as if in that moment, Elena knows that these adventures and historic findings is something she could never completely ask Nate to give up. And you can tell all this from a single look.. It really does go to show how phenomenal this game truly is.
Also, Nate’s realizes there that being a treasure-seeking legend can still end with an instant, meaningless death, just like all those pirates. The real treasure is being able to appreciate the history WITH someone he loves, and that’s exactly what they end up doing. Truly thoughtful storytelling, I appreciate it so much.
Actually, I think at this moment, not only she realised that that's what she actually loves in Nate, but also that she won't be able to tear him away from this life.

This has got to be the most realistic relationship in a game ever. Especially at the end of 4 when she realises that from trying to change him, she's made them both miserable, which she then corrects by going ahead with their passions. That is relationship goals 😊
It's great how "A Thief's End" (without epilogue) ends like "Among Thieves" with Nate & Elena jokingly arguing about their fear on the scale of 1-10, as the camera slowly goes up and screen fades to black with their funny dialogue in the background. Great writing and sweet callback.
I love this series and this couple so much. It doesn’t fall into the typical “damsel in distress” trope. Elena is a badass who saves Nate on many occasions. Honestly one of the best relationships in any video game
They saved each others a lot of times like almost equally She saved Nate from Navarro's men and then gave him the right hook for leaving her behind Then Nate saved Elena from getting blown up by grenade launcher and in turn he got rescued by her again using the 4X4 They kept saving each others to the end
1:57:16 I always loved this moment. It's one of the few times all game where we saw the classic grin on Nate, and Elena's realizing it's the first time she's seen it since they left this life. She's realizing that she may have missed the thrill of discovery and adventure, but it's what defines Nate, and asking him to go without it was destroying him. But he did it anyway. For her. The ending, buying Jameson Marine, all that, didn't come out of nowhere. It came from this scene here.
To be fair, Elena did ask him if he was happy. She wasn't necessarily the one stopping him to live this life, it was actually his own decision for the safety of both of them.
Naughty Dog does these big dramatic scenes so fucking well, they just hit you like a brick. That scene reminded me of a lot of big dramatic moments in The Last of Us.
These two are so amazing...THIS is how you write a wonderfully complex and deep relationship. All the good, all the bad, and their love bound them together. What an amazing story
Reply is a little late but she meant she was in Chloe’s position being Nate’s right hand woman. The one who helps him. She was her in U1 and now Chloe is in the same place. Elena didn’t just mean it romantically.

It’s wild to me that Sully was the one to originally ditch Elena, but after he sees how great she is he spends the rest of the story telling Nate how much they need her. Especially how much Nate does.
She brings out his best traits. It's fitting that she had her hair color changed during Drake's Fortune's development from brunette to blonde to symbolize her innocence and Chloe's hair is black in opposition to Elena's, as while she cares about Nate as much as Elena does, she encourages him to be more morally dubious.
Elena is a perfect woman imo and their love is so strong and their chemistry is just insane, despite being animation. The core is the incredible voice acting of the lady with the incredible voice and the well drawn cutscenes and well acted scenes. The whole thing is just mesmerizing
I think that's due to Nolan North and Emily Rose physically interacting to mocap the cutscenes as the voice acting is recorded in real time, adds a lot of authenticity to the voice acting and makes their interactions much stronger than if the cutscenes were animated traditionally.
Yeah it's the only thing in Uncharted 1 that is kinda inconsistent with what later games reveal of their relationship. I guess you can chalk it up to Nate hiding how he feels. He did manage to hide how he felt about what happened to Sam for years.

yeah, nate's shirt is half tucked for the first time in years and elena's is pretty much the same except for having no tank top underneath. i'm not sure but i think the color of her shirt also chaned from blue to purple.
The dissolution of their relationship (though of course its later repaired) in A Thief's End is just incredible. So heartbreaking, so well-done. And unlike lots of "male protagonist, cute female love interest" scenarios, you DEFINITELY side with the her--she's not being a wet blanket or dead weight, she's 100000% right and he needs to fix things. Thank goodness they worked things out and spawned a sneaky little snark machine with her family's taste for adventure (Uncharted 5 ft. Cassie Drake, anyone??)
The banter between Elena and Nate at the end of 2 really brings depth to their characters and makes them feel like real people. I remember feeling so relieved at the end of this game that Nate chose her over Chloe, but Chloe was written so well that I couldn’t help but feel sympathetic towards her.
This love story is so well done...without sexualizing the main character or reducin her into a figure to be protected...I really love it. Good jon from the first to the least!

y'know, it never really occurred to me until around 1:19:36, but it's really masterful how Naughty Dog interwove the arc of Elena's and Nate's relationship throughout the games. I missed it the first time when I played the games, but a major part of Elena's character journey is her struggle for acceptance of Nathan's adventures, and how she desperately wishes he would stop with, in her words 'obsession' over treasure and danger. She begs him to just be satisfied 1:23:44, and I really love that ND fully embraced that with A Thief's End with their main conflict being how he lies to her, and she almost holds him back, in a way. He feels cooped up and restless in the white-picket-fence life, as it's not who he is. This constant back and forth with them misunderstanding one another leaves them in a kind of 'one step forward, two steps back tango,' where she just wants him safe, and he bucks against that normalcy to go towards the danger. I think that's what makes the scene at 1:57:30 so damn powerful, is how she finally realizes that no, she can't just force him to leave it all behind, because the adventuring is truly part of him. It's not something he can, or ever will leave behind. This recognition is what allows their relationship to mend, and for them both to finally compromise with one another with #4's epilogue.
For me, one of the best parts from Uncharted 4 was all the photos of their adventures and the fact that they took Cassie in every one. It can go over your head if you don't think about it, but it's clear that Nate was so struck by the sight of the old lady (the one his mother worked for) dying in front of him, all alone, divorced and with a kid that didn't even love her, that he didn't want to end up like that, he didn't want to be sending letters and barely even seeing his family and then die alone with only his treasures to make him company. This series is so good, everything has a correlation and a meaning, Naughty Dog sure has some good writers
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this but at 1:46:01 after Elena finds out about the trip and leaves then Sam asks Nate if he needs any help the animators did such a good job showing how uncomfortable Sam was. The way he was hitting his hands against each other is just so realistic. I mean, all of their hand movements/movements in general are so amazing and add character. Naughty Dog is so 👌🏼👌🏼
A Copper do you know that they use motion capture? Sam is hitting his hands together like that probably because that's what the actor (Troy Baker) did when they performed the scene. You can watch videos of the actors performing 😊
Yes, I do! I watched the behind the scenes, haha. I love that the voice actors were also the actors in this game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they also used Mo-Cap for Last of Us. (I know Naughty Dog isn't just the only game developer that uses Mo-Cap)

That was one of the sweetest and satisfying ending I have ever seen from a video game. I have not played the Uncharted series but damn do I think that these series are of high quality.
Love how the two characters have evolved through the 4 games but the 4th game you feel the transformation from just a reporter (Uncharted 1) to love triangle (Uncharted 2) where Nathan wasn’t sure if he liked her back to lover (Uncharted 3) where he finally proposes to her to (Uncharted 4 ) happily married and you can see how much it bothers Nate when he disappointed her.
the scene where elena catches nathan in the hotel of uncharted 4 and they fight was one of the best voice acting i've seen in video game history in a good while, you just felt the emotion of that whole scene from start to finish, almost better then movies nowadays
You have to admit it. From a great but cheesy adventure story with a well written but somehow sterotypicial villain, then into a more mature story with a realistc and terryfing villain, a portrayal of a man's obsesion over his past and how it is damaging his relationship with his friends and family and finally ONE OF THE BEST FRICKIN MATURE ADVENTURE DRAMAS I've ever seen. For mother's sake I FUCKING LOVE THIS SAGA. It has it all, in the perfect measure, masterfully writted and executed. I really wish I can just forgett it all and live through it again from Uncharted 1 to 4.

Uncharted's 1 2 and 3 are like these Indiana Jones games. Cliche characters with simplified storylines and character development, Uncharted 4 rocks because it turns that formula on its head and delivers a sweeping story without the cereal cartoon stuff that got Uncharted its reputation. Just an awesome game.
Uncharted 4 was great, but Uncharted 2 was one of the best games ever made and the best game in the series imo. All 4 Uncharted games are amazing in their own right quite honestly. Uncharted 1 though will always be my favorite.
Man they did an awesome job with Elena. One of the best written female leads in mainstream games. Just a perfect mix of all the traits you could want in a woman.

It's most touching when I see the couple grow old at the end of the video, because we players also grow old and grow with their adventure that eventually we have to give up many things we loved so much in our life.
Every uncharted game had something that stuck with me long after finishing the game. E.g. The train sequence in uncharted 2, the plane crashing in uncharted 3, and many more. After finishing 4 the thing that stuck with me most was the relationship between Nate and Elena. Specifically the section after Elena saves Nate and you feel the uncomfortableness between the two and Nate’s heartache over having lied to Elena. The way they slowly address Nate’s betrayal while playing through the game to the point he says “I’m sorry” at the pirates table was done so beautifully. I really loved this section. Well done Naughty Dog. My favourite game series of all time.
To me, the scene after she says 'for better or for worse' is perhaps one of the most memorable in the whole game, an almost uncharacteristically silent scene in an otherwise action packed game where you watch Nate and Elena drive, with only the soft music in the background. It's really masterful. I wish so badly I could experience that game for the first time again.

I've liked a lot of women in my life, but loved only a few. As entertaining as the debate of Chloe vs Elena is, it's clear. Nate loves Elena. And at the end of the day, that's what matters.
In my opinion, Elena was the right choice. Elena is woman you settled down with while Chloe is sexy girlfriend you had fun with. Chloe had some maturing to do, she wasn't ready and yes zure Chloe did some shady stuff that was untrustworthy in 2. Chloe not bad woman though and she did cared and love drake. Chloe needed to figure out what she wanted in life, her end goal. She wasn't Elena, Elena was smarter girl it's nice drake and chloe shared the passion of adventure but Drake what drake loved wasn't danger it was finding history and puzzle solving. Figuring out the unknown and lost treasure. Thing about danger and illegal, sometimes it doesnt end well. Their are losses you can't get back. In the end Drake didnt want to be a thief, he was a archaeologist and explorer at heart. Elena figured that out, but she was smart about it,love it too and they did it together legally and ended up so much better for them as you can see in U4 they gave back to the world as you can see in magazines and newspapers.

Elena is so gorgeous in A Thief's End. Not only physically, as her character model is beautiful, but she's one of the few video game characters that actually comes off as a real person.
best in game couple i have ever seen! everything about this game is just so amazing, story, character development and the female character being a complete badass! I love how they show Elena and Drake's domestic life in the game as well. That is just so unique, its not just about finding tressure but about showing every aspect of Nathans life. I wish more games were like this

This has got to be the most realistic relationship in a game ever. Especially at the end of 4 when she realises that from trying to change him, she's made them both miserable, which she then corrects by going ahead with their passions. That is relationship goals 😊
It's great how "A Thief's End" (without epilogue) ends like "Among Thieves" with Nate & Elena jokingly arguing about their fear on the scale of 1-10, as the camera slowly goes up and screen fades to black with their funny dialogue in the background. Great writing and sweet callback.
I found they referred back to the previous 3 during the 4th one a lot which is awesome. They tied it all together.
Adil Dnk 2 and 4 are the most similar. Both also start with a part of the later game.

It’s wild to me that Sully was the one to originally ditch Elena, but after he sees how great she is he spends the rest of the story telling Nate how much they need her. Especially how much Nate does.
She brings out his best traits. It's fitting that she had her hair color changed during Drake's Fortune's development from brunette to blonde to symbolize her innocence and Chloe's hair is black in opposition to Elena's, as while she cares about Nate as much as Elena does, she encourages him to be more morally dubious.

I think that's due to Nolan North and Emily Rose physically interacting to mocap the cutscenes as the voice acting is recorded in real time, adds a lot of authenticity to the voice acting and makes their interactions much stronger than if the cutscenes were animated traditionally.

Yeah it's the only thing in Uncharted 1 that is kinda inconsistent with what later games reveal of their relationship. I guess you can chalk it up to Nate hiding how he feels. He did manage to hide how he felt about what happened to Sam for years.

Yeah, when I first played UC1, I didn't get the impression that He and Sully had such an important relationship.
They didn't really give a deep background in Nate and Sully's relationship in UC1 and Sully was barely in UC2 they only added it in UC3.
I really love how Nate and Elena's outfits in 4 are pretty much a redux of their outfits in 1. Really awesome detail right there.

This series holds such a special and magical place in my heart-everything about it rocks me to my core, and Nate and Elena’s story is no exception.
The dissolution of their relationship (though of course its later repaired) in A Thief's End is just incredible. So heartbreaking, so well-done. And unlike lots of "male protagonist, cute female love interest" scenarios, you DEFINITELY side with the her--she's not being a wet blanket or dead weight, she's 100000% right and he needs to fix things.
Thank goodness they worked things out and spawned a sneaky little snark machine with her family's taste for adventure (Uncharted 5 ft. Cassie Drake, anyone??)

That's called having a good memory. The writers stayed true to the plot. A lot of the little things made the franchise great.
The banter between Elena and Nate at the end of 2 really brings depth to their characters and makes them feel like real people. I remember feeling so relieved at the end of this game that Nate chose her over Chloe, but Chloe was written so well that I couldn’t help but feel sympathetic towards her.

y'know, it never really occurred to me until around 1:19:36, but it's really masterful how Naughty Dog interwove the arc of Elena's and Nate's relationship throughout the games. I missed it the first time when I played the games, but a major part of Elena's character journey is her struggle for acceptance of Nathan's adventures, and how she desperately wishes he would stop with, in her words 'obsession' over treasure and danger. She begs him to just be satisfied 1:23:44, and I really love that ND fully embraced that with A Thief's End with their main conflict being how he lies to her, and she almost holds him back, in a way. He feels cooped up and restless in the white-picket-fence life, as it's not who he is. This constant back and forth with them misunderstanding one another leaves them in a kind of 'one step forward, two steps back tango,' where she just wants him safe, and he bucks against that normalcy to go towards the danger. I think that's what makes the scene at 1:57:30 so damn powerful, is how she finally realizes that no, she can't just force him to leave it all behind, because the adventuring is truly part of him. It's not something he can, or ever will leave behind. This recognition is what allows their relationship to mend, and for them both to finally compromise with one another with #4's epilogue.

For me, one of the best parts from Uncharted 4 was all the photos of their adventures and the fact that they took Cassie in every one. It can go over your head if you don't think about it, but it's clear that Nate was so struck by the sight of the old lady (the one his mother worked for) dying in front of him, all alone, divorced and with a kid that didn't even love her, that he didn't want to end up like that, he didn't want to be sending letters and barely even seeing his family and then die alone with only his treasures to make him company. This series is so good, everything has a correlation and a meaning, Naughty Dog sure has some good writers

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this but at 1:46:01 after Elena finds out about the trip and leaves then Sam asks Nate if he needs any help the animators did such a good job showing how uncomfortable Sam was. The way he was hitting his hands against each other is just so realistic. I mean, all of their hand movements/movements in general are so amazing and add character. Naughty Dog is so 👌🏼👌🏼

That was one of the sweetest and satisfying ending I have ever seen from a video game. I have not played the Uncharted series but damn do I think that these series are of high quality.
Love how the two characters have evolved through the 4 games but the 4th game you feel the transformation from just a reporter (Uncharted 1) to love triangle (Uncharted 2) where Nathan wasn’t sure if he liked her back to lover (Uncharted 3) where he finally proposes to her to (Uncharted 4 ) happily married and you can see how much it bothers Nate when he disappointed her.

the scene where elena catches nathan in the hotel of uncharted 4 and they fight was one of the best voice acting i've seen in video game history in a good while, you just felt the emotion of that whole scene from start to finish, almost better then movies nowadays

From a great but cheesy adventure story with a well written but somehow sterotypicial villain, then into a more mature story with a realistc and terryfing villain, a portrayal of a man's obsesion over his past and how it is damaging his relationship with his friends and family and finally ONE OF THE BEST FRICKIN MATURE ADVENTURE DRAMAS I've ever seen. For mother's sake I FUCKING LOVE THIS SAGA. It has it all, in the perfect measure, masterfully writted and executed. I really wish I can just forgett it all and live through it again from Uncharted 1 to 4.

Uncharted's 1 2 and 3 are like these Indiana Jones games. Cliche characters with simplified storylines and character development, Uncharted 4 rocks because it turns that formula on its head and delivers a sweeping story without the cereal cartoon stuff that got Uncharted its reputation. Just an awesome game.
Uncharted 4 was great, but Uncharted 2 was one of the best games ever made and the best game in the series imo. All 4 Uncharted games are amazing in their own right quite honestly. Uncharted 1 though will always be my favorite.
Man they did an awesome job with Elena. One of the best written female leads in mainstream games. Just a perfect mix of all the traits you could want in a woman.

It's most touching when I see the couple grow old at the end of the video, because we players also grow old and grow with their adventure that eventually we have to give up many things we loved so much in our life.
Every uncharted game had something that stuck with me long after finishing the game. E.g. The train sequence in uncharted 2, the plane crashing in uncharted 3, and many more.
After finishing 4 the thing that stuck with me most was the relationship between Nate and Elena. Specifically the section after Elena saves Nate and you feel the uncomfortableness between the two and Nate’s heartache over having lied to Elena. The way they slowly address Nate’s betrayal while playing through the game to the point he says “I’m sorry” at the pirates table was done so beautifully. I really loved this section.

To me, the scene after she says 'for better or for worse' is perhaps one of the most memorable in the whole game, an almost uncharacteristically silent scene in an otherwise action packed game where you watch Nate and Elena drive, with only the soft music in the background. It's really masterful. I wish so badly I could experience that game for the first time again.

I've liked a lot of women in my life, but loved only a few. As entertaining as the debate of Chloe vs Elena is, it's clear. Nate loves Elena. And at the end of the day, that's what matters.
In my opinion, Elena was the right choice.
Elena is woman you settled down with while Chloe is sexy girlfriend you had fun with.
Chloe had some maturing to do, she wasn't ready and yes zure Chloe did some shady stuff that was untrustworthy in 2. Chloe not bad woman though and she did cared and love drake.
Chloe needed to figure out what she wanted in life, her end goal.
She wasn't Elena, Elena was smarter girl it's nice drake and chloe shared the passion of adventure but Drake what drake loved wasn't danger it was finding history and puzzle solving. Figuring out the unknown and lost treasure.
Thing about danger and illegal, sometimes it doesnt end well. Their are losses you can't get back.
In the end Drake didnt want to be a thief, he was a archaeologist and explorer at heart.
Elena figured that out, but she was smart about it,love it too and they did it together legally and ended up so much better for them as you can see in U4 they gave back to the world as you can see in magazines and newspapers.

I have only played the 1st one. Always found it weird how Elena actually worries about them being in foreign waters without a permit, yet she casually joins in on this journey of life and death with a smile on her face.
I really like how the reasons change for adventure each time

Damn i think this game series has been forming me as a person, as a partner, as a woman throughout the years. Story telling, character & relationship development, graphics, humor. Elena is so gorgeous in A Thief's End. Not only physically, as her character model is beautiful, but she's one of the few video game characters that actually comes off as a real person.
That is what her actress looks like in real life because Elena is motion captured
The facial graphics of Nathan and Elena between the first 3 games and 4 are like comparing night and day.

best in game couple i have ever seen! everything about this game is just so amazing, story, character development and the female character being a complete badass! I love how they show Elena and Drake's domestic life in the game as well. That is just so unique, its not just about finding tressure but about showing every aspect of Nathans life. I wish more games were like this
