Note: not criticism, but observation only: This might be long but it's only to elaborate clearly on the subject. U2, U4, & U:LL are not connected story wise or story mode to U:DF or U3:DD. I am also ignoring comics, other games, etc. the only focus here is U:DF, U2, U3, U4, & U:LL. The only focus is on those 5 games. Not the BTS, actors interviews, Wikipedia, or other social media platforms, or anything like that. Just on what the characters say about themselves, their actions, conversations, & cutscenes in the games. Yes it's the same characters in all the games, but they are in different roles. Example: Home Alone 1, 2, & 3 or the GTA series. Another example is the Simon Pegg/Nick Frost films. Same actors, different roles. "Sliding Doors" (1998) uses this technique. U:DF & U3 has more in common with each other than U:DF has with U2. U2 & U4 has more in common & is in more harmony than the other games are. Yes, you can still play them in any order but the stories are not all connected to each other. Uncharted games are not just games, but movie structured as well. They also have a story. They are influenced by numerous films & uses their same techniques. Many characters copy traits from many movies & characters of those films. That's where Naughty Dog gets it's inspiration from. U2 & U4 is Bruce Straley, Neil Druckmann, & Amy Hennig (U2, but she is not the main writer/director). It's an alternative story timeline, rebooted/remake spin of U:DF. U2 is not the direct canon sequel to U:DF. Red or orange titles, Thief or Thieves in titles, dark colors, dark filters, dark story, militaristic, mercenary style, hypersexual, aggressive, very tense, strained relationships between characters, very female feminist, soft male feminism in many areas, strong passive themes, characters have darker personalities, harsher dialogue, etc. The darker Nate. Young Nate & Sam in U4 is based on John Connor & Josh & Sam. That's not what/who young Nate is based on in U3. In U3 he is based more on Scott Grimes from Critters (1986) or mostly 1980s children & Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist. Young Nate in U3 in 1985 is 15 years old, is an only child orphan on his own, & lives in Cartagena, Columbia. This is not the case in U4. He is around 13 or 14 in probably 1990-1994 & his lifestyle is the complete opposite of U3. The games sometimes borrow elements from each other but this doesn't make them connected. U:DF & U2 & have a monastery level & U2 & U3 have a convoy but they are not structured in any similar manner. U2 convoy is only jumping & shooting. U3 is riding horseback, firing, avoiding RPGs, jumping on each truck, taking out bikers, & catching up to the main vehicle to fight the main bad guy & then rescue Sully. U:DF & U3 are harder to play because they function like the PS2 era & have tougher enemies & levels. Nate is heavily inspired by Ben Sanderson. He is the John Connor, Josh & Sam orphan. U2 is inspired by "Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom," Tom Cruise (Mission Impossible), "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," "Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo," "Leaving Las Vegas," "Terminator 2," "Josh & Sam," "13 going on 30," Nate, Elena, Chloe (Matt, Jenna, Wendy), Edward Cullen (his looks) & Bella (her pursuit of Edward mirrors Nate's pursuit of Chloe in U2), "Twister" Bill, Jo, Melissa (Nate, Elena, Chloe), & "Sliding Doors," "Critters 3," Daniel Craig (James Bond, 2006, 2008, 2012), "Tango & Cash," Florentino Ariza (numerous flings, keeps a record in a journal, lives in Cartagena), Leonardo DiCaprio, "The Deaths of Ian Stone" (Ian, Jenny, & Medea are Nate, Elena, & Chloe), "24" (Jack's downfall spiral, season 3, 4, 6, 7, 8), Owen Wilson, Michael Townley/DeSanta (miserable marriage mirrors Nate's attitude in U4), "Die Hard With A Vengeance" (John McClane drunk, downfall), with militaristic, hypersexual overtones. U2 & U4 is presenting Nate as Hollywood portrays their characters at their weakest point in the story. When the characters present a downfallen state. A dark side. This is intentionally done in U2 & U4 by Bruce Straley & Neil Druckmann. Anyone who has seen any of these can see that Naughty Dog is taking massive inspiration from them just like Hollywood does from other films. Uncharted 2 & 3 use the same locations & techniques as "The Polar Express." Example: U2 uses a train & snowy mountain backdrop, while U3 uses the technique where the conductor rides atop the train & tells the engineer to steer it to the left & right. You can can literally perform that same maneuver with Nate on the jeep while Elena steers it on U3. U2 is 1990s & later 2000s with a 2006-2009 modern twist/take/spin on Nate's story. Nate is just more toned down to a PG/PG-13 rating. He is not just based on Nolan North, but has numerous other character traits from other films. U2 is what Nate would be/look like if he met Elena last in the story. Nate is the bad guy/boy toy. Nate & Sully's roles are reversed from U:DF & U3:DD. Nate is the wild party animal who can't stop instead of Sully in U2 & U4. Nate & Sully have no father-son like relationship here or in U4. U4 is the direct canon sequel continuation of U2. Nate in U2 is a Gigolo (numerous girlfriends almost every year listed in his U2 journal), a drunk who meets & has flings with older & younger model or prostitute women in bars & hotels/motels. He spends his fortune on them. In this alternative timeline take, Nate has 3 previous girlfriends before he meets Chloe in 2002 & Elena in 2005/6 (note: how is he meeting Elena in 2005/6 when in U3 they are in Yemen & married/reconciled in 2005?) Elena is the 9th & last woman he meets in Bruce Straley's vision for Nate. Read Nate's journal in U2. His fling list is there along with their phone numbers. That's not the Nate in U:DF or U3:DD. It contradicts U:DF & U3:DD & is not what we see. He is intentionally being cast differently in U2 & U4. In 2 & 4 he is the rebel orphan, bastard son, is de-aged, younger, shorter, a very miserable drunk, unkempt, uncaring, cocky, defeatist, tense, strained, tired, sleazy, snappy, promiscuous (he flirts with Elena), a gigolo (U2 journal), a heartbreaker (Chloe U2, Elena U4), a player, a rebellious troublemaker (Sam & Nate), an outlaw, a thief (U2 & U4), & a ladies man, not sure of himself (U2 dialogue), too trusting/forgiving (U2: Harry Flynn, Chloe & U4: Nadine Ross, Rafe, etc. this contradicts the other 2.), down on his luck, passive, tone-deaf (ignoring obvious harms/threats, etc.), he is the bad boy Nate of Uncharted, etc. Nate is the young, wild, promiscuous, shorter, cocky Nate & Elena is the caring mother figure type trying to save him from his downfall spiral. She is Josh's mother type in Critters 3 & Nate is Josh (Leonardo DiCaprio). U4 is not the same young Nate of U3. Young Nate in U3 takes place in Cartagena, Columbia in 1985. He is an only child orphan running the streets. He is Oliver Twist. He says to Sully that he is doing fine all on his own. So where is Sam? Katherine Marlowe pulls out Nate's file & reads this to him. She knows everything about him, his mother's suicide, his father abandoning him, & she never mentions a brother. This is a crucial point in the story & series to mention something like that. Bruce Straley & Neil Druckmann are trying to connect U4 to bring it more in line with U2. Their version of Nate's character story. U2 & U4 complete each other just as U:DF & U3 complete each other. Nate's many flings list: Alaire - Los Gatos, LA. - 1996 Georgina S. - 1997 Rika R. - Lumpir Bar, Jakarta - 2000 Chloe Fraser - Tulsa, Oklahoma - 2002 Shamfufu - Capetown - 2003 Cassandra S. - Pasadena - 2004 Karis - Istanbul - 2006 Maggie H. - Montreal - 2008 Elena Fisher - Papua - (July 2006 but in U:DF they met & signed a contract in Panama in 2001; there is a picture of Nate & Sully [UDF] with the date in his journal in U2). The games don't & won't make sense if they are canon sequels. They are not. U:DF & U3:DD is not connected story wise to U2 & U4 because Nate makes no sense otherwise. As Nate, Sully, & Elena are leaving on the plane in Yemen in U3, Sully mentions the plane that Nate & Elena wrecked 4 years ago citing U:DF (U:DF, 2001). This means U3 takes place in 2005. U3 never acknowledges that U2 events ever happened. We just get only a few references, callbacks, homages, or easter eggs. This still doesn't make them connected story wise. When Nate tells Elena that he almost lost her before he isn't talking about the U2 explosion, he means the helicopter crash in U:DF. There isn't any evidence to suggest he is referring to U2 otherwise. They were married sometime after U:DF. This explains why they are estranged at the beginning of U3. It was because of this incident & the other dangerous Drake expeditions that Chloe mentions (the context is a lost city & Francis Drake) in U3. Chloe isn't talking about U2. She means they went on other Drake expeditions after U:DF & Nate & Elena were married, & later became separated because of the danger, & Nate thought he had lost his wedding ring. This is not so at the end of the game. U:DF begins the first version of Nate & ends with U3. U2 begins a new modern version of Nate & ends with U4 & U:LL. In U4, Nate and Sam discuss Nate's past adventures. He never says who goes with him. Sam says he called some of the old contacts but doesn't say who. -U:DF & U3:DD is Amy Hennig's version of Nathan Drake. -U2 & U4 is Bruce Straley's version of Nathan Drake. Maybe rework the titles a bit because it might confuse some players. Amy Hennig (Head Director & Writer)/Justin Richmond/ actor's Nate: "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" (2001) "Uncharted: Drake's Deception" (young Nate: 1985, mentions events of U:DF: 2001, adult Nate takes place in 2005) Bruce Straley (Head Director)/Neil Druckmann/actor's Nate: "Uncharted: Among Thieves" (Adult Nate: late 2000s, 2006-2009) "Uncharted: A Thief's End" (a different version of young Nate: 1990s, late 2000s?, Adult Nate: 2016 & present).
Ummm no, all of them are connected. In uncharted 4 you see all artefacts of the previous games, you see a picture of Nate and Tenzin, you see a bunch of easter eggs from all of those including belt buckles from ALL three prequels. All of Nathan's adventures are mentioned, can be mentioned to Sam and Rafe mentions all of them at the end. So mind explaining that?
@@albinovenom6872 Easter eggs doesn't necessarily mean they are related sequels the same way the Grand Theft Auto games are not sequels to each other. GTA III isn't actually a direct sequel to GTAII or GTA. GTA 5 isn't a direct sequel to GTA 4. The GTA games do this as well with Easter eggs. The Uncharted games are made by two different teams at Naughty Dog with 2 different takes or spins on Nate as a character. The red and orange colored games (U2, U4, U:LL) are a different modern take on his story. This shows what Nate is like as a dark character. I see many people commenting that the game's stories is confusing. They are not all connected story wise. Who Nate says he is in U:DF & U3 is not what he shows & tells us in U2 & U4. He is a completely different person. Chloe & Sam don't exist in U:DF. Chloe is not cast the same in U3. She & Charlie Cutter are only business partners to Nate & Sully sometime after the events of UDF. Sam doesn't exist in U3. Nate is an only child in U:DF & U3. This contradicts & conflicts with U2, & U4. There are many conversations with characters that disconnect U2 & U4 away from U:DF & U3.
@@trevorphilips6267 Okay, BUT there are also many things connecting all of them. When Sully gets the bail for Nate in Among Thieves, he says that he "blew the rest of their money" refrencing the gold they got from Drake's Fortune. In A Thief's End, Rafe mentions all of Nate's adventures, Sam and Nate can both refrence his adventures between them. Nate and Elena refrence eachother about themselves in all of the prequels, when they meet again in Among Thieves and when Nate refrences her ring in Drake's Deception. The only reason that Sam doesn't exist in any of the prequels is that the development team conjured him up last minute so to say, to make Nathan somehow go back on his adventures, because after Drake's Deception it seemed like he was done for good. So they had to add him up somehow. And Nate doesn't speak about him or refrence him in the prequels because he still tought Sam was dead. Yeah there is a lot of unsolved shit in between them but still, there is way too much evidence to confirm that all of the games are connected. Maybe not perfectly but they are nonetheless

I actually think I remember your videos a decade ago. Didnt you like do a lot of teabagging or you were in the uncharted 2 kills compilations that Sony had
@@SimonGonzalOS I don't know about any of this, if Sony had me featured that would be something real sick I never knew about - I played a lot of UC2 and was featured in many videos, many which have been taken down since from various extinct channels
@@IISourAyyII I just looked you up and yeah pretty sure you were featured in their plays of the week. Wow so weird I definitely remember watching your clips

This might be long but it's only to elaborate clearly on the subject.
Nate's many flings list:
Alaire - Los Gatos, LA. - 1996
Georgina S. - 1997
Rika R. - Lumpir Bar, Jakarta - 2000
Chloe Fraser - Tulsa, Oklahoma - 2002
Shamfufu - Capetown - 2003
Cassandra S. - Pasadena - 2004
Karis - Istanbul - 2006
Maggie H. - Montreal - 2008
Elena Fisher - Papua - (July 2006 but in U:DF they met & signed a contract in Panama in 2001; there is a picture of Nate & Sully [UDF] with the date in his journal in U2).
Amy Hennig (Head Director & Writer)/Justin Richmond/ actor's Nate:
"Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" (2001)
"Uncharted: Drake's Deception" (young Nate: 1985, mentions events of U:DF: 2001, adult Nate takes place in 2005)
Bruce Straley (Head Director)/Neil Druckmann/actor's Nate:
"Uncharted: Among Thieves" (Adult Nate: late 2000s, 2006-2009)
"Uncharted: A Thief's End" (a different version of young Nate: 1990s, late 2000s?, Adult Nate: 2016 & present).
Cant believe you wrote this detailed observation just to be wrong still
all of the uncharted games are connected
@@Saint20117 Two different teams at Naughty Dog with 2 different takes or spins on Nate as a character. Nate with a dark side. The red & orange colored games are not sequels or connected to U:DF or U3.
2 different versions of Nate, 2 different takes or spins. nah, uncharted series much better
In the end the Uncharted series won and has the better games.
LMAO huh? You came to an Uncharted video to talk about an Xbox exclusive that's not even staying an exclusive after two decades.
Gears of War 2 is better. Uncharted in general is better than gears. Each uncharted game is phenomenal. Gears has games that really lag behind. Judgment, 5, hell even 4 isn't that great. Gears 1-3 was peak.
