- 1983 Suzuki GS1100L Delkevic Sound, Project History & Next Steps
This 1983 Suzuki GS1100L is a recent rescue and was purchased as a parts bike with 6k original miles! However, I was able to get it running great and back on the road. It currently has a Delkevic Full Stainless Exhaust, Ego "Wide Magna" handle bar, Shinko 230 tires, conventional Suzuki rear shocks, Rick's stator and regulator/rectifier. The next steps in this project will be installing an EBC clutch and APE manual cam chain tensioner. Авто/Мото
I just bought an '82 gs1100l all stock, sitting at 24k. This video is a goldmine of information!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
What a great idea for a channel. I rode one of those and it was like ridding a lounge chair, supremely comfortable. Great Video and the bike sounds great. Shaft drive how appealing. Take care and greetings from South Australia.
Thanks for the feedback!
Bike looks good. Job well done !
Thanks!
Awesome Bike!! Lookin forward to the future videos. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks! I'm currently working on more videos and hope to post soon.
@@jonsmotorcyclerescueandrev3538 Just took my first ride with the new Delkevic Exhaust! The video does no justice for how amazing this motorcycle sounds. Thank you so much for your videos. Huge help and inspiration!! Super happy with it.
Awesome, I'm truly glad to be of some help! I am in the middle of replacing the clutch on mine. I got half way through the job and realized I needed to order more parts. Just picked them up today so I'm looking forward to getting her back together and back on the road. I'll post a video of the clutch replacement soon. Ride on!
@@jonsmotorcyclerescueandrev3538 my clutch is fine other than 1-2 can be clunky but I’m sure that’s how it usually goes… I am riding while restoring so may wait for winter to do that.
Understood. I usually go through several rounds of restoration and riding with each bike. It helps me be patient when I can enjoy the bike between projects.
Hello, i have one and cant get the folk seals, do you know the seals numbers? Thanks
K&S part number 16-1029
Curious what jets you used in the carbs?
And did you adjust the fuel screws? How many turns out?
If I remember correctly, 42.5 idle jets, 117.5 main jets, 175 air jets, and 2.5 turns out on the air/fuel screws.
And that’s with stock air box?
Yes, stock air box and filter.
Thank you, that’s good to know, mine is all over the place . 47.5 idle jet, 142.5 main, 145 air jet and 3.5 turns out. It gets better as I turn the fuel/air screw out more but now it has a hard time coming back to idle.
I have a major hesitation from idle. Can’t figure it out.

K&N pods….
You can at least look up your stock jetting sizes on partzilla.com
That will give you a good starting point. Carburetion can be a challenge - especially if somebody was in there before you!
