  • Whether you're new to detailing or a seasoned pro, it is necessary to follow the Detailing Flow Chart to get the best results. Today, Nick explains the entire Chemical Guys Detail Flow Chart from start to finish. Beginning with the wash process to remove the abrasive particles that are accumulated from daily driving or being exposed to the elements. Once the vehicle is clean and dry it is time to dive deeper by using a clay bar to extract embedded contaminants that leave the surface looking and feeling rough. Have you ever wondered how to get rid of the scratches, swirls and spider web appearance of your paint and restore a mirror gloss? Machine polishing is the answer! Use the V-Line of polishes to determine what range is necessary for your paint. We recommend starting with the least aggressive approach as your baseline. Once desired level of shine has been achieved it is necessary to now add a protective layer such as a ceramic coating. The freshly polished surface leaves bare paint exposed to the elements which can quickly clot the pores with contamination. Use a combination of ceramic, glaze, sealant, and wax for extreme depth, warm shine and intense water beading action. Wrap up your detail by using your favorite quick detail spray to remove reside, dust and fingerprints for a flawless finish.

    If you're borderline OCD, you need to start detailing. Takes me at minimum 5 hrs, but a few beers and good music, some nicotine and I'm all set. The prize is ever so rewarding. Figured I'd learn as one of my cars was ruined from auto washes and Florida sun and I never waxed or sealed, relying on the most expensive auto wash to protect my baby. Big mistake. So I learned my lesson and started detailing my newer vehicles myself. Turns out I enjoy doing it and looking to start a side gig.
    Everyone walking their dogs by my house stop and ask if I have a business! I do now. And here i was in a pinch needing extra income to help with a home purchase. Never would've thought. Thanks Chemical Guys. For real.

    @CG Nick. Great video as always. I wanted to ask you I have a 2019 RAV4 silver metallic which I bought back in 5/1/20. However, I never clayed it before which clay would you recommend? Also, would you recommend VSS or Jet seal. And as for wax what would you recommend white wax or butter wet wax.
    Also, since the car is a year old if I use the OG clay bar would it damage my paint, or it would damage it, since it hasn’t been clayed ever since I bought the car.
    Great video Nick!!

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  3 года назад +1

      Hi there! Thanks so much for watching. An OG Clay Bar with plenty of Luber will be fine for your RAV4. If it has light scratches and swirls, you can polish using VSS or move straight to applying your favorite coatings. I highly recommend the combination of JetSeal and Butter Wet Wax.

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  3 года назад +1

      Hey there! Thanks so much for your message. After thoroughly cleaning/decontaminating and paint correction(if necessary) you can choose to apply HydroSlick then add PPF. To protect the vinyl, use JetSeal and/or Butter Wet Wax. HydroSlick is best suited for gloss painted surfaces.

    Awesome video!
    Question; My Truck is a 2016 and I have never clay bar'd it should I use a medium or a heavy for the first time? Also after this first clay treatment do you typically move to the OG for subsequent clay treatments? Also living in Florida we have tons of bugs! Can I clay my car if there is bug residue on the paint or should I use your tar remover to get that off first?
    Thanks so much for the awesome how-to videos!

    Very helpful. I'm new to your products and just used HydroSlick on an 06 Trailblazer that never was properly detailed over the years but was cared for with basic washes etc. I didn't do the polish steps or the claying prior to using Hydroslick which seems like a solid product and covers well. I also picked up the Speed Wipe but haven't used yet. You didn't mention Speed Wipe in this video. I'm curious if your Quick Detail product is taking it's place or if you're discontinuing the Speed Wipe? I live in the dusty NV desert. Since my vehicle was washed, and I used the HydroSlick, would it be safe to use the Speed wipe, rather than another fresh wash, so I can apply the Butter Wet Wax or do I need to do another full wash before applying Butter Wet Wax? We've had no rain and vehicle only exposed to dust, pollen etc. I appreciate your suggestions.

    • @ChemicalGuys

If I wash my car, clay it, wash it again, skip the compound/polish since my paint is good, add Wet Mirror Finish, then Jet Seal, and finally Butter Wet Wax, would this be a good work flow? And, would it be safe for me to use all of these materials (less the compounds) on my ceramic coated vehicle? Thanks! 👍

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  4 года назад +1

      Hi Edgar! Clay bar removes embedded contamination and fallout. To remove old glaze, sealant and wax use Clean Slate. I recommend allowing about 15 minutes in between coats to allow the surface to breath and also gives you time to inspect the surface for missed spots.

I was about to place an 800 dollar order for everything last week, but your website kept saying it couldn't find what i was looking for when i went to the cart. It still isn't working, so ended up buying *some* of the stuff on amazon. Id like to buy directly from you, and I know I will be spending a few hundred a month likely, is this due to the covid 19? Or could I be doing something wrong? Love the videos! From what reviews I have watched, nobody beats your products and prices.
