Very nice, both were more than fast enough!! @9 was impressive Mark and Rob's was no slouch! Seems like everyone wanted to be in the video this week, lots and lots of extras! LOL!
Oh yes Addam, definitely fast enough for some serious fun! I was pleasantly surprised at just how fast my car was! Haha, I think all the public wanted to be on RUclips on that day! 🤣Too many extras! Thanks, buddy! 😎👌👍
Absolutely, Dai! Too right mate, we just focus on having a good time with our RC's and hopefully it comes across in the videos. Great to know you enjoy it too! All the best - cheers! 🤗👌👍
Thanks Dom, we had to stop filming so many times with all the people coming and talking to us while we were filming, it was really funny though! Yeah, we were honestly surprised at the speeds! 😅👌👍
Hello Mark and yes, not a bad speed for a 10 quid can! Glad you enjoyed it my friend, just Rob and me mucking about with two great Tamiyas. Haha, poor Rob, that HPI motor didn't stand a chance! 😅 Thanks for watching, pal! 😎🙏👌👍
Fantastic run, Mark! And Rob, well, a bit below that but still a nice watch, ha ha... Bit of friendly competition, always worth it, probably gave you an mph or two extra... Always good entertainment from the two of you, I am sure all the others visiting that park also agree!
Hi there Mads and great to hear you enjoyed it my mate! Yeah we both wanted to win, always good to have some friendly competition! Those motors were both so much faster than the stock silver cans and very cheap too. Haha, yes we get lots of nice comments and interest from other park visitors who are always curious to see two old men playing with little cars! Cheers mate! 😎👊👍
Ok, now I busted out my XV-01 and gonna use a 19 turn motor with 22/68 gearing on 2S.... I need to get at least 25mph.... LOL Awesome my friend, almost at the 13K mark... Keep going dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ATB to all and let Lou know that app is working...
Haha, great to hear we got you in the racing spirit! Yeah you need 25 to beat Rob, but can you get to 30 and beat me?!?!?! It's going to be awesome to see your video and find out! Have fun mate! Oh yeah, I keep losing and gaining subs but we are creeping up there! I told Lou, thanks! ATB my brother!
I always enjoy watching you and Rob enjoy this hobby! Excellent top speed on your refurbished car Mark!👍😊 Myself and a buddy are talking of building a couple of these so we can rally about!
Hello Jeremy, it's great to know you enjoy the show! Yeah I was pleasantly surprised at that top speed! Cool that you and your buddy are looking at building rally cars, they are so much fun to drive and very different to buggies and trucks, it's good to have a change now and then. Rally on! 😎👌👍
Awesome stuff fellas, a couple legendary rally cars driven by a couple legends! The poor bloke in the hi-vis vest behind you must think you're both nuts! Lol!
Hello Fil and many thanks! Well at least I agree the rally cars are legends! 😅 And yeah, it looked like that guy in the hi-vis was scared to walk past us! We are definitely nuts, pal, you know it! 🤣😎👍
Iol always a joy from you two! Hey that fence with those big heavy hard weights looked nasty with those cars on that slippy surface! Rob got a little close! Iol but all good! Great speeds both and 29 Mark that's flying and l can't say enough about the Thrust motors so cheap but definitely very cheerful! Great stuff guys Cheers James.
Hi there James and so good to hear you enjoyed this one! You are right about the temporary fence and the huge steel weights holding it up - that was a squeaky bum moment for my mate Rob! 😅😮😬 We were genuinely blown away by the speeds we got, but yeah, the Absima is a little corker of a motor for about a tenner! Thanks for watching and always taking the time to leave a top message my good friend, always appreciated! Enjoy your evening! 🤗💙👌👍
Hey Mark, another super speed run with a couple of awesome looking XV-01’s. I think I will have a go with my XV-01 to see how well it goes in stock form. You mentioned 16mph. That Absima motor is very good indeed. I have one in my Absima AT3.4 Truggy and I believe I got 33mph with it using my NiMh pack. For the money, they are fantastic brushed motors. Great video 😊😊best wishes to you and the family 😊
Hi there John and thanks for the kind message. It was a fun video to make and yes, those Absima motors are excellent, it really woke my XV01 up!!! It would be good to see what speed your XV01 does, maybe you can beat 16mph?!?! Best to you and yours too my friend! 😎👊👍
Hahaaaa Rob just appeared out of thin air🤣🙋♀️funny as👌. We had our money on McRob for the lower turn motor and lost the lot🙆♀️😭. We reckon Mark had a dodgy label on his 10 turn motor hehe. We're surprised you chaps even kept them straight enough to get to top speed on the slippery path😳👍. Thanks for the great video and the laughs Cobber's!!! from your Aussie relo's🙋♀️🤠🦘🇦🇺
I know my Aussie brother, that Rob was up to his usual tricks again! 😅 You did the sensible thing to go with Rob and his lower turned motor, but my Absima 18T is a bit special!!! Haha 🤣and no it's not a dodgy label you cheeky so an so! 🤣 Oh boy, that road really was as slippery as ice, as soon as we gave it full throttle they just went sideways - close call for Rob and that fence! Thanks for the wonderful messages and sending you and Sheila best wishes, have a great day me Cobbers! 🤗💙👊👍
@@MarkBryanRC Naaa you wouldn't do anything shifty like that hehe🤭. Yeh we thought Rob was a gonna for a second there but he saved it👌🏆. Great video Cobber's, we were cheering out loud and sure our neighbour heard us as the door was open 😂.

Who doesn't love a good speed run and a nice bit of friendly competition?! Great fun guys, and I'm not surprised people kept stopping in interest..... those two cars look devine! What dick put that gnarly fence up there? 🤔 That didn't look very lexan friendly to me,combined with those wet conditions and rest assured I would be going straight into it.... Or, over on the opposite side be-heading those gorgeous spring daffs! 😂 Great driving, and great upgrades guys. Oh, and thanks for winning Mark.... that coin flip worked out just right eh bud?!! All the best guys. 😊 👍 👍 👍 P. S Don't be too hard on Rob regarding getting the SDR and EPA muddled up on the transmitter..... I done exactly the same thing on the TTO2 speed run challenge! Life becomes complicated as soon as you have more than one nob to play with! 😂
Hiya James, well I know we love speed and competition! It was nice that folk were interested but bloody annoying when you have to keep stopping filming! 😅 The council is upgrading the park facilities so I suppose we gotta let 'em off for the fence! Hehe, I had to win just to prove you right, mate! 🤣 Just a bit of fun, I'm always poking at Rob as you know, the silly old fart! I can say that because he is 6 months older than me!!! But for me, life is complicated enough even with only one knob!!! 😅 Cheers matey! 🤗👌👊👍
Many thanks! Yep, that first speed test was with the stock Johnson silver can and NiMh. Also the TBLE02s ESC. The LiPo and Carson ESC might have made a little difference but I think most of it is down to the motor! 😎👌👍
Hiya mate. Oh it's always such fun when you guys get together for some sort of contest. Especially enjoyed the outtakes. Anyway wow that motor you have is crazy quick for brushed. I need to look up what mine did on brushless but it wasn't much more from what I remember. Be good if you could get a radio with a gyro for speed runs as it should keep you away from those pesky fences when traction is low. Very enjoyable mate. Best wishes 😁👍👍
Hi there Pete, great to read you again! Thanks mate, you know Rob and me like mucking about for the camera and there are always way more outtakes than actual decent clips we can use! Yeah I think this 18T is a bit special, maybe I just got one of the better ones. It went just as fast in my TT02 but that was on raised gearing! Good call on the gyro, I need to look into that as these little cars are very twitchy at speed as you well know! Thanks for the cracking comment and all the best to you my good friend! 🤗👌👊👍
Nice Mark and Rob,don’t think I’d want more with xv-01! at what around £8? those absima brushed motors make you wonder about 20-50 quid brushed motors?see also you chose a nice dry sultry day up there for your speed runs😉
Hi Tony, always good to read you! My thoughts exactly, for 8 quid you can just throw one of these motors in and just replace it when it wears out, cheap as chips, literally!!! Well at least it wasn't raining for the video, but I wish the path had been dryer!!! 😬Cheers! 😎👍
As you said in the description mate - you'd have thought a 15T would have outpaced an 18T, how strange. But anyway my fave rally car won, so no complaints from me. An excellent an insightful comparison. Have a good week dude..😀👍🏻😀👍🏻.
I know mate, I thought it would be a lot closer but as I'd tried this Eco18 in my TT02 (with raised gearing) and it also hit 29, I thought I had a chance! Maybe it's down to the timing of the motors? Anyway, I'm really pleased you enjoyed it. Wishing you a great week ahead too my friend! 😎🙏👌👍
Woah great runs out there guys. I think we need to stiffen up some of those steering components for a straighter run. lol Thumbs up again for a FUN video

Many thanks, dude, glad you liked it! Both cars are on stock gearing - 22T pinion and stock spur. Amazing the Absima 18T went 13mph faster on the same gearing as the silver can!!! 😎👌👍
Great to see the rally cars out for some action, I think the xv01 needs some weight added on the rear in those conditions, both cars looking sweet though 👍
Thanks a ton, dude! Yeah it was good to get out with these rally cars in a break in the weather, but boy was it slippery! Good idea about adding some weight, need to try that! Cheers! 😎👌👊👍
"Have you got that?" "No!" 😁dang people throwing off the video but you guys made it work. Awesome cars and a good laugh.. can't ask for much more. Decent speed for scale driving too! Thanks Mark and Rob!
I know dude, what are folks like, getting in on the video?!?!? 😅 But as you know by now, we do like having fun and not taking this too seriously! Glad you enjoyed it my friend! Cheers! 🍺😎👍
I think the 15T is a 550 motor, which would make it something like a 21T 540.That would explain the lower performance of the "15T" motor. 550 winds are different to 540,and not equivalent. Just saying....the XV-01 is on my list as the next rally car., always heard good things about the chassis.
Hi there and many thanks for your input 😊 I am pretty sure the HPI is a 540, I Googled it and it definitely looks like one! But oh yeah the XV01 is probably my favourite rally chassis, it's just awesome to drive! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
I use the same motor for racing, amazing!!! It is 9,99 in my country (germany) and for 10 euros more u can get the rebuildable one. The absima brushes also are cheaper tham tamiya
That hpi motor must be either faulty or your gearing is very low as I use the hpi 15t firebolt in a couple of my older RC's and in my hpi sprint and tamiya ta04 I get just under 40mph... 78spur 36- 40 tooth pinion on zippy 4000mah 2s and HW 1060 esc, and believe it or not it doesn't even get above 80°c. It's most likely down to the internal gearing ratios 👍👍
Hi Wayne and thanks for the info. Yes I think it must be the stock gearing on the XV01 (as it's geared for rally) with a 22T pinion and 68T spur. The stock car only did 16mph which is terribly slow! 😅 So the HPI motor did give it a nice boost in speed! Cheers! 😎👍
@@MarkBryanRC 👍, I was just looking at my tt02 that has the same gearing as your car n I think it must be gear box gearing as well, like you say it's more for rally n touring 👍👍

Hi there and many thanks for your input 😊 I am pretty sure the HPI is a 540, I Googled it and it definitely looks like one! But oh yeah the XV01 is probably my favourite rally chassis, it's just awesome to drive! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
Trim those XV01s to go straight!
They were trimmed my friend, but that road was so slippery, it was like driving on ice! 😅👍
what esc did you use? Origibal tamiya?
Yes it's the Tamiya Hobbywing THW1060. 😎👍
I use the same motor for racing, amazing!!! It is 9,99 in my country (germany) and for 10 euros more u can get the rebuildable one. The absima brushes also are cheaper tham tamiya
@catseye8926 mine not at all, sorry for that to happen to you
Hi there Enrico in Germany from Mark here in the UK! Oh yes, definitely a bargain little motor! Thanks for the info! 😎👌👍
That's interesting to know Jess! Yep, the Eco18 is the one that gets my vote!
@catseye8926 For a cheap brushed motor I'd say that was better than "not bad", I'd say it was excellent my friend! :)
❤ very cool car Video 😂💧🔥♥️♥️😍🤩👍😎👑👑🤣🌞😇🏆👉😊
Thank you very much my friend! 🤗🙏👌👍💙🤗👍💙😎👍
😎👍
Legend! Thanks Chris! 😎🙏👌👍
Are you going to get an XM 01 pro? And bt01 and a mb01?
No mate, I can't afford them and to be honest I don't really like them!
@@MarkBryanRC what do you think is wrong with them.
I don't like the suspension design and the tiny short A arms. Others have said the slop in the suspension is ridiculous! 😭
@@MarkBryanRC I don't think I've heard anything on the XM 01 pro with the a arms
@@MarkBryanRC I'm sure there's going to be things to fix that problem.
Ahh, yes i think you are right, I got my TT02 up to 45mph with 26/64 gearing so that kinda proves it! Cheers! 😎👌👍
