The most wonderful thing about Matt Fradd and Pints with Aquinas is that it seems like Matt is learning along with us. With all the brilliant speakers (especially the excellent Fr. Gregory Pine) you see Matt engaging and wanting to learn how to live more faithfully and wisely. There's something so unique about his honesty and his desire to apply everything the speakers talk about practically to his own life. It is why Pints with Aquinas feels like a journey with a man who acknowledges his state as a sinner and is seeking out how to be holy. God Bless you, Matt.
Couldn't agree more! 💓
Super humbled. Thank you for this.
YES I heard Matt speak in person several times and I’ll never forget how he emphasized how this isn’t just him talking at us or about the holy “us” and then the sinful “them” or “you” it’s ALL of us in this journey of life and sin and struggle TOGETHER just trying to grow and improve ourselves and become virtuous people
Absolutely agree
I think he exhibits the two things we all desire and value in group study. He's authentic and vulnerable.
There needs and I mean needs to be more episodes of "Fireside chat". This is a demand Matt, not a suggestion. Thanks for your cooperation
Haha. "We humbly command you, Matt"
Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Matthius Fraddius.
Gregory Pine gives very “friendly older brother” or “cool tutor” vibes
Gregory is one sharp cookie
Or a salty saltine. :P
This episode was so human, so real and chock full of inspiration. Took tons of notes on quotes. As a Catholic sinner striving to be a saint, I worry constantly about being authentic in my prayer life and also in how others view my practice of my Catholic faith. Fun and thought provoking discussion. It’s nice to know I’m not alone. You two were great.
Thank you so much Fr. Gregory. Thank you Mat.
3 Hail Marys for each of you 🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻📿
This brought to mind Thomas Merton’s analogy of grace being a ray of light entering a crystal that gives a new radiance to the crystal . Each crystal with its unique shape and clarity will emit a different form of radiance. All are beautiful creations of God’s love.
This was so amazing!!! Thank you Matt!! Your channel is really amazing.
Thank you for sharing this Matt. I really appreciate it.
Thanks Matt for making this video public. It helped me a lot. Also I would suggest u make more videos like this where the interior life, its struggles and solutions are discussed. I think it will benefit many. God bless u Matt
100k incoming lads... 👀 Been listening for a few years now Matty, from Scotland to now Pittsburgh, grateful for your work, can't wait to grab a pint with you one day 👌
It's been a while since I've listened to your podcast or watched your RUclips videos @MattFradd and forgot how full of sense of humor your platforms are! Glad I was able to watch this one and will continue to do so! Thankful for the insights from Fr. Gregory Pine and yourself! God bless!
"playing the hand you were dealt" - great, wise, helpful, aaaand these two gents were dealt the "ridendo dicere verum" cards. Thank you so much and Dominus noster Iesus Christus vos benedicat and protegat.
You always take great care to be precise and balanced, thank you Matt!
The hand we're dealt and how to use it is a great analogy. I really appreciate this conversation so much, really have me a different way to look at how I have been dealing with myself lately.
This was amazing!! Thank you for sharing. My favorite Bible quote is very relevant to the theme of this talk, “My grace is sufficient for thee; for power is made perfect in infirmity.” 2 Corinthians, Ch 12
This was such an excellent episode that at the end I genuinely found myself clapping along in front of the screen! 😂 Thank you Matt and fr. Gregory, God bless you!
This is awesome and an unexpected surprise.
such a good episode
Please, please pray for my salvation brothers and sisters and please offer up your sacrifices for me to help me make reparation for my sins and for my salavtion! I was away from the Church for 7 years and led a very sinful life! Thank you
What a wonderful video Father Pine is so amazing and it was so nice to see him “almost” relaxing. I really want the opportunity to meet him in person.
Absolutely refreshing and honest conversation that reveals the essence of a real friendship, acceptance, support, vulnerability, humor, charity. Thank you to the both of you for this slice of genuine human interaction.
Matt's brilliant mind comes out through his humor and humility and being introspective.
excellent work - relevant discourse - family is the toughest, most rewarding job - bravo
I really enjoyed listening to that conversation between you and that very articulate priest who seems to be very smart and have a lot of wisdom for such a young priest, who looks like he's just out of high school and Matt you are one funny dude, I mean bloke.
God bless you both and guide you always.
What an awesome and wholesome conversation!
Somehow this got me laughing. Matt was conversing with a priest. The convo better be wholesome. 😁
Remember when we could go out to eat?
I speak to you from the future. The restaurants are open again! We are all out and about and maskless!
Really great chat. Did Gregory open a beer with his robe? That was cool...
+Father Harkins: Dont apologize. I was ordained for you.
That is just so beautiful beyond words. I pray for more priests like him. May he rest in peace. 🕊️
love this!
Great chat.
I’m jealous of the people who are there. 😒😁
Me too!!
Hahaha 😂.
Totally
I feel you
Two of my favorite Catholics, and I’ve met a ton of ‘em! :)
“And a goat named Clancy.” Love!
Matt drinking islay single malt whisky.. Thats my kind of brother:)
Thank you for this. Needed to hear a number of things that were discussed.
32:38 - This is my favorite thing Fr. Gregory has ever said. I struggle with this too.
The first thing I notice is the Port Charlotte 10, just bought myself some, and it's delicious!! Good choice 👍
Do this AGAIN!!!!!
This was...epic? Do we still use that word? I'm sitting here wishing there was another seat at the table with my name on it.
Beautiful chat. But my favorite moment........"I was feeling groovy about becoming a Dominican"
omg lol, your dream about the porch and bookstore and such.... that is right on lol! 😂
You both look alike. Really !! Like brothers😁
Pints with Aquinas...and we let this excellent priest drink Miller Lite? Come on Matt, you've gotta get this man a stout!
Thx
Port Charlotte is great!
Watching your numbers..just waiting for it to reach that big one....is like the old saying... "A watched pot..never boils"
It's coming!!!!
Wait, what? How is that possible? Aren't you in Atlanta and Father in Fribourg?
ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED
@@toptech88 🤣🤣🤣👍
Matt Fradd - Have you been to the St Ignatious Prayer Retreat?
Where is this being filmed?
Georgia or Steubenville
I tend to overshare so I disabled my social media till I could control my impulses LOL, if it causes you to sin cut it off right
cool
"But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:"
Matt 12:39
Is Fr Pine drinking a "lite" beer?
And he calls himself a Catholic priest !
I am both shocked & appalled!!!1111!!!1
Lite beer is truly ascetic. Lol
I was thinking the same ? Why is a priest drinking a beer?
@@fragwagon Maybe he's fasting!
@@klaudias.8014 No, the problem is lite beer is terrible. ;)
Gin for the win!
Matt, I have a doubt with intercessory prayer through saints. How can a saint know what I am praying. For eg: If I pray to saint Antony of Padua, how will he understand Malayalam because he is Portuguese. God will know but how can saints
The same way we can pray to St Michael Archangel even not speaking the idiom of the angels. Because those who are in the Celestial Jerusalem, the Church Triumphant, can communicate on the concept of the “beatific vision”: that means the supernatural and perfect state of joy and knowledge through the sanctifying grace of God.
“The beatific vision is when God, though transcendent, opens himself up to man and gives man the capacity to contemplate God in his heavenly glory.[11] Contemplation is the prayer of silently focusing on God and heeding his word; in other words, contemplation is the prayer of uniting with God.[12] The beatific vision, then, is ultimate union with God; indeed, it comes from sharing in God's holy nature via sanctifying grace.[13] Because God is beatitude and holiness itself, the beatific vision entails ultimate beatitude and holiness.[14] The beatific vision is a grace and a privilege intended for every man and angel, since God created men and angels to enjoy the beatific vision; the beatific vision is the ultimate purpose of each person's and angel's life.[15]”
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatific_vision
That’s not a dogma in itself, but a theological explanation of how the “communio sanctorum” (communion of saints) works, but a high certainty proclamation of the magisterium. Eastern Orthodox believes quite similarly, although they don’t use the terminology “beatific vision”.
malayalee!
Just to also conclude to the comments...Saints can understanding everything since they first received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and they able to speak in tongues and because Jesus is the reason being the one mediator...that is exactly He is for! He is in heaven giving that connection now since He is and they (Saints) are in His presence knowing through the beatific vision - knowing who who and how God is yet they are not God(s) but like God. Understand! Bible is very clear in book of revelations and Maccabees (books that heretics took out in order to differentiate themselves from Catholic Church - the original Christians' teachings. By they way, as middle eastern Christian Catholic we too confirm from our ancestors faith the teaching of the early Christians as practicing Catholics and non other...unless they were actually heretics believing things like what some protestants and others as Jahovah Witnesses etc...)...Goodbye...say whatever you like
eyyy another malayali, I find us everywhere hahahaha. God bless you in your journey.
@@abelj5145 God bless you! yes we are all over Catholic RUclips
Matt, are you always going to practice your vocal exercises during advertisements? I could not have skipped through that fast enough. Love the show though, well done

Can a non catholic get out of a state of mortal sin before they become Catholic?
You would need to be baptized
@@error4o436 are there any prayers or anything?
That person needs to be baptized before being part of the sacrament of confession, there are some exceptions like risk of death but these need to be validated by a bishop.
@@cristhianrojas8606 so you basically gotta live in a state of mortal sin untill you become Catholic
@Logan T we all live in mortal sin before baptism because that's our default state of being. But if you were to die before becoming Catholic, one would believe that God would keep you from he'll because of your desire to be purified.
If it makes you feel better, you can make an examination of conscious & say an act of contrition at the end of each day.
It's a good thing you stopped the interview when you did because I think Father Pine was on his third or fourth beer.
Comment
Thank you
You girls really need to switch it up to non alcoholic root beer...
just for the camera🙏
A light beer? c'mon!
Was there a live stream ccut-off time. The idea was not to get drunk. I was ignorant and humble.
light beer is quite the hit in the drinks market right now, and for good reason; sometimes, you just want a lite beer!
I love the discussion. But truly the profanity is offensive. Remember what Paul says about our "weaker brothers"
Matt is Australian - it's how we speak :) . Think of it as cultural immersion...
Absolutely terrible video 10/10 would not recommend. Envious of people getting to watch paint dry. Jk 😜
