Welcome back gents ... absolute gold! ... I had visions of Gary having ot call an ambulance to be cut out of his girdle, but ballons and Adam's chair collapsing to one side, Dave's comment about sailing " standing in a cold shower ripping up £50 notes" was brilliant. Someone get Daz some longer arms!

Fabulous start to season 5! Not even five minutes in, and absolute chaos, Gary on fine form early on, and some proper belly laughs along the way. But where’s Daz’s lovely leather chair? Even during the serious bits, it was a really good watch this evening. Top moments 🤔 Gary - your story about your mate dying. The momentary absolute silence when you said that, with the facial expressions was priceless. Brought back memories of humour on the ambulances 🫢 Adam breaking his chair, and if course the balloons. Can’t wait for the next one, thanks guys. Oh, and I reckon I could live in Svalbard for a year.

It’s been hell not being able to go out with the camera. Hopefully not too long now until I can walk out and about again. 🎉🎉

Classic Pubcast ...Lord I've missed you guys 😁
Daz......you've just condemned me to room 101😢...I'd move to Svalbard in a heartbeat ,all that space, nature & most importantly ....very few people 😅 As for the polar bears ...only about 5 people have been killed by them on Svalbard since the 1970's so no big problem .
Off to catch up on episode 2 now , keep'em coming 👍

An excellent hour & a half entertainment. Welcome back.
Agree totally with Gary’s comment regarding 14 year olds visiting Auschwitz. When we went, there were quite a few groups of teenagers queuing waiting to go in. As teenagers do they were laughing and joking with each other. However seeing them when they came out it was a different story. No laughing and no joking. What they had seen and heard had really affected them. A real education.

Darren, I found Oradour-Sur-Glane in France fascinating, I did take a small number of photographs but like you I too lowered my camera to start with. After a few minutes I returned to taking some photographs but with the historical context in mind and was as respectful as I could be. I had a similar frame of mind when visiting the Mulberry Harbour and Normandy beaches and cemeteries. At the time I was a teacher and often did an assembly on Remembrance, these photographs were extremely useful in making the history more realistic to my students. Gary my winge is cyclists on the road when they have a decent empty cycle path next to them.
No I couldn’t live in Svalbard, I wouldn’t mind visiting somewhere similar but less dangerous.

On the too inappropriate to photograph topic.
I was recently in central Australia at Uluru and Kata Juta where more and more of these natural wonders have been deemed as being culturally sensitive and photography is prohibited in those areas and no photos at all of the area are to be shared online or sold without getting permission and paying for a licence. All images still are vetted if anything culturally sensitive is in them.
I understand that some things are sensitive, but when it comes to natural landscapes and features I question the reasoning behind it.

Right Dave, brown bears and the occasional black bears eat. Hence why they are not as dangerous as polar bears. Polar bears are twice the size and haven’t eaten for six months. But you probably know better.
