Compton Halt had only 1 platform, same as (Lower) Penn Halt. The bridges were built in 1913-19, by Perry & Co, Bow, London. The line was single track from Baggeride - Oxley Branch Junctions, with a passing loop at Wombourn station. The stations at Himley, Wombourn, and Tettenhall had extensive goods yards.
I have covered most of the South Staffs Railway over various walks and there is plenty more to see from Castlecroft onwards to Pensnet. There is the Smestow Nature Reserve, the Meccano Bridge and Tettenhall Station. When you reach Aldersley Junction it is worth extending up the BCN for a short distance to see the Oxley Viaduct, a bridge with magnificent brickork at the skew arch. In the other direction from Himley Plantation there is the avenue of pine trees that the Earl of Dudley planted to obscure the railway from Himley Hall. There is also the Quarry but sadly now no Crooked House, and at the end there is Barrow Hill and Pensnett Pools. All the best, Peter.
Hi Peter great walk that south staffs railway , good idea there walking aldersley junction to that bridge I'll check around there some other time cause some bits I didn't film . Barrow hill is another place that's excellent that you mentioned
Hi drew another great video 👍 I saw you on Friday I think it was on your way home from filming this video when I spoke to you. When you’re next out magnet fishing me and my grandson Tommy would love to meet up with you and get some tips he has just got a new magnet and would like some advice on his new hobby Thanks Gary.

Thanks again for a very informative video, think I saw you on the way home along the canal from Ashwoods Nursery. Are you going to video along the canal in the future .
Thanks Drew, very cool. My favourite part was seeing that little glimpse of the platform side wall at Himley station, but it was all great. Did your tyre hold out?
Thank you 😁 some great features on this part , very lucky tyre is still holding so I done a good job on that ordered a new one have to fit it in few days but I'll do part 2 to Tettenhall on foot soon

Shame some parts of the path are really unrideable apart from the Summer months. Be nice if they could tarmac it. 🤔
That be better tbh with tarmac be more rideable I mean I struggled at parts on this journey with the mud
