Sorry mate binge watching your vids.. you should check out the ghost story of Emily Vernon in and around Hanbury woods.. maybe a ghost investigation one of the days?!
That's alright bud I'm gonna be away this weekend with my dad so I'm allowing everyone to catch up but when back I'll be out filming again . That's interesting not to far either so would be worth a investigation sometime
Are you planning on doing another one over this way mate? I'll send you details on the disused railway line and tunnel if you do!
I will be mate in a few weeks I'll pop back here be worth a revisit around this area to find more stuff
Went there this morning dude, few creepy leaves and squirrels about but wish I'd watched this first! Thanks for sharing
I went in dark few days ago about 7pm and had a weird encounter again I called my dad to meet up , he come and within 5 minutes he shot off so I had to catch up with him he saw something and we heard something being thrown got it on evp recorder
Mad stuff mate - thanks for sharing and look forward to seeing it
👍🏼 I was nearly in the video 😂
The Clip you could see you partly walking down path lol 😂
@@MidlandsOutdoors yeah i spotted me, was a great day i love walking through there so peaceful, alot better when its abit more dry n less mud to walk through 🤪😁 👍🏼
Looks a nice place for a wander on a nice day, even in the rain lol 😆I had to look where it was to be honest. Not far from the garden centre I occasionally go to.
Lovely place this was for a walk definitely gonna return on a nicer day
There is caves and you will find backdrop of riffle range to home grauds
Will have to take a look bud sometime
I'll go and have a look one of the days , see how it's changed
Yh definitely worth a look tbh bud
Yes it's just woodland now all grown over ,where the shoot was there was a small hut but long gone now
Shame tbh it's gone massive place shame most isn't publicly accessible
If you look on google maps I think the hut is still there actually and apparently it's now used for dog shows! I used to go to the clay shoots on Sundays with my Dad
@@billkent6037 the hut is derilict and dropping apart
Yes a clay pigeon shoot in the 80s of you look at Dudley Droner one called frozen forest the end is that cleared part before hand
I'll have a look at that mad what was on that land and a racecourse many years ago on old maps saying disused
I walked this a while back lovely bridleway part
Loved every second walking this different walk
The clearing on the left was a forest too , but cleared 3 yrs ago for logs
That's crazy I wondered why it was all open I did look at some old os maps and a road used to run in the middle of that place , it had a racecourse and a shooting range
Great video thank you
Your welcome thank you 😃
Amazing place, and nice video. I walked through the million at night alone, felt uncomfortable all the time, and had a feeling that someone was watching me, although I don't believe in ghosts and such things. Also visited the caves at night, but then I wasn't alone, that time everything seemed okay. You should definitely visit the caves of this wood.
I'll have to have a look do you know where about they are the caves in that part . I might do a night visit down here see if I witness anything strange be a different experience at night
@@MidlandsOutdoors The caves are very difficult to find without knowing the exact location. I can give you the coordinates. How can I contact you?
Great Autumnal video and well done for venturing out in the rain.
Thank you love the autumn period for walking somewhere great scenery hopefully we get some good days coming up
Beautiful music and film. Thank you 🙏🫶
Thank you glad you enjoyed this one brilliant place
All the old stomping grounds, we all spent so much time up the park, getting up to all sorts but mainly football. So much football. The park used to get packed out in the summer. People everywhere. Cradley High School used to be at the top, which we attended. I was sad the day they knocked it down. I still remember what seemed like the whole town turning up at the park to watch Tanhouse get demolished. I miss "The good ol' days." Shout out to the B63 Massive!
great video and great knowledge of history 👍
Thank you 😀📸
Great video Drew. Loved it xx❤
Thanks Julia x 😀
I believe the pub that was opposite Wilson Hall in Colley Gate was the Gate Hangs Well. My Dad used to drink there on occasions.
Is this close to where the old viaduct was ? Used to walk the dogs over that way, turned off by the old bluebird toffee factory (i think) and could walk over the fields.
It's sort of close not to far great walk this will have to find some more stuff along this route
The picture of "the mitre" pub in Stourbridge has hardly changed at all to now. Perfectly visible on Google street view.
The great photo of grazebrook works also shows what looks like the brand new estate of holly hall in the background. Holly hall rd, norfolk rd essex rd all visible. Reckon this photo from mid 1920s? Or there about
Where the bridge is (next to the cattle bridge) the canal used to split and go all the way across to woodside. This stretch goes across what should have been a large valley but the ground was built up massively to accomodate the canal. Quite the opposite to "the cut" 😂 This stretch was taken down to build the trading estate and the roads through there are named after this extinct canal stretch (narrowboat way)
St andrews church was built from bricks made from the ground on which it stands. They saved so much money in using materials from its own land they built the first school in netherton. This school had to be rebuilt and still stands as a car garage and furniture shop at traffic lights, bottom of church rd and high st.
The Astle is king graffiti was on the road side of the bridge, not under it. The bridge recently (just before this video was filmed) got reinforced and the railings were installed. But due to the graffiti they effectively dedicated the bridge and put up the sign. Officially its still primrose bridge.
Where you started this video was a railway line that went towards black heath, and the bridges you admired "toll end works" had a huge rail bridge that went over all of them, and headed up to bottom of buffery. In fact accompanied by the canal extending in the same direction through what is now netherton park, Netherton was very very close to being an island!! Only either side if cinder bank were the 2 ends of the same canal. Netherton park to grazebrook (now pear tree lane) prevented us being "cut" off from mainland 😂
Amazing
Thanks donald 😀
Cracking video, not been over Highgate Common for donkeys years, all the best, Webby 👍
Brilliant place mate glad to explore this one I'm gonna return but make a longer video covering more areas over here soon

Got some great memories over there! Black country is amazing ✅🤘🏼
So much history in the black country area I've probably covered a small proportion over time just endless
@@MidlandsOutdoors honestly mate was great to meet you today, you have a great RUclips channel 👍🏻
@@Emtbwebb thanks mate I'll be doing more stuff when the weather picks up hasn't been great lately on my days off from work

Thanks mate
Love this Channel, not just because I grew up in the Black Country but because you have great presentation skill and the music just makes it more enjoyable. Thank you.
Thank you much appreciate it love making these videos so many great places round here
I walk through Himley Plantation quite often. A little while ago I tried to trace back the story of Gideon Grove, a stableboy that was killed during the confrontation that happened around the corner at Holbeche House between the king's soldiers and the gunpowder plotters. Despite not actually being one of the plotters himself, he fled and was chased down and killed. From the various sources I looked at I'm pretty sure that I've managed to find the most likely spot within Himley Plantation itself. It's an innocent looking place but it looks like it may have a somewhat darker history. Listen out when you next visit. I've only ever seen one there once, but I quite regularly hear muntjac deer calls while walking there.
Thanks for sharing this I'll do some more research on the area soon that holbeche house is interesting shame it's all boarded up in a derelict state I'll have listen for the deer next time would love to spot one
My favourite dog walk baggeridge through to himley
Definitely it's a good black country walk that been a while since I've walked to himley from there
@@MidlandsOutdoors Himley plantation is a labyrinth. Id recommend highgate common and Bratch canal in that area.
@@benhale7787 thanks for recommending that I'll check those out tomorrow
