you are absolutely smashing it Bab. I used to live very very close to where you are in this vid. brilliant camera as well. keep doing this magical memory lane vids your ace 👍
The metal supports on the bridge are actually pieces of old Bullhead rail 95R repurposed. I used to live in Wide Acres very close to where you are, this is what sparked my interest in historic railways many many years ago. My friends and I were often seen driving up that path on motorbikes, on our way to the field beyond the bridge. Known locally as the M5 field. The farmer let us use the field for off-road motocross. Can't believe how disused the walkway has become, I haven't been over there for about 32yrs. One year in Beeches Lane, the snow had come down so heavy, they used a snow plough to clear it. My friends and I spent hours & hours digging tunnels in the ploughed snow. You brought back some wonderful memories from my history. Thank you.
Your welcome , tonnes of history and memories down this way I'm yet to do another video from this part all the way towards rubery station area and a bit further thanks for sharing all that
Nice video. Interesting new camera. I have the Nikon P 900 so you are one step ahead. Im sure you could get some great pictures of the moon craters, even better than mine. All the best, Peter.
Dunno where this is 😂 That footpath you pointed out by the bridge will take you to the motorway, the Rubery station was along the track bed. I will need to show you lol. There was another bridge further along but it was demolished in 2003 I think.
@@MidlandsOutdoors go up egghill lane from the m5 services and it’s on the left at the lay-by. Go through the fence by the bin and the plaque is on the floor. Nice view over Bartley green reservoir and brum
Thanks mate , I'll be out filming more for this channel when weather picks up 😁 oh the magnet fishing channel I stopped doing bud I may come back to doing it in future
Is this close to where the old viaduct was ? Used to walk the dogs over that way, turned off by the old bluebird toffee factory (i think) and could walk over the fields.

When you’re up on egghill lane by the coppice by the lay-by have you seen the memorial for a bloke I believe worked at rover
I've seen that, it was the bloke who designed the Austin 7 I think. Just through the gate off the layby.
Never seen that I'll have to check that out next time I pass by bud always keep finding new stuff that way
