When I ordered my new 1966 GTO, I specified the competition sintered metallic power brakes (no discs available yet). It was necessary to warm up the brake linings when first driving to get the brakes to actually work.
He cleaned it with brake cleaner, and we articulate that step in the video. Like all these projects, it's always important to follow the instructions that come with the parts! Thanks Marvin!
It's important to match the bore diameter of the master cylinder with the booster. Another great option is a hydraulic booster, we've installed many of those and they always produce more than enough pressure.
jodn Delorian wanted fuel injection and disc brakes on the GTOs. It was Ed Cole from Chevrolet who prevented that from going onto to GTO when they came out, all because he didn't have anything to compete with the GTO. Like your Co worker on your job F'ing up you on your job. What an SOB. How much gas and lives would have those 2 items on the GTO would have saved.
Gorgeous car. I think I would have looked for modern clones of the rally 1 wheels in 16" diameter for but that's just me. With the right offset you can get a decent amount width under there and still have enough sidewall not impact the ride much.
Great car and subtle update.
I want your voice! It is so soothing. I could listen to you speak all day.
That's not what they say around the shop! Thanks for watching our videos!
Many thanks - an excellent and patient description of how to sensitively upgrade yet doing so without spoiling originality.
Thanks Freewheal - the owner can switch at any time.
Sweet GTO. I like the disc brake conversion
It's a good upgrade, thanks!
Beautiful car. Love the '66.
Beautiful Classic GTO.
Mustang Sally
Thanks CJ!

Love the car I got a couple of 66 Pontiacs I’m building on my channel.
I like the stock wheels.
NOTHING "stock" about the wheels.
Great looking car nice wheel\tire package good job on the brake upgrade
Thanks Pete!
Every time I run across your videos I swear I hear Nick Offerman talking. :)
I like the stock wheels, the others make it look like a toy store diecast.
Good looking car! I got a 66 GTO I’m building on my channel. Love the car brother!!
Nice wheels
Great car.
Thanks.
Kevin the machanic didnt clean the film off the rotor? I think it has some kind of protection to keep it from rusting RIGHT ?????

cool on the the disk upgrade but bigger rims look like a dogs shaved buttox walking backwards
Did the discs work fine w the booster? I have a 66 w 9 inch booster.....im reading it wont provide enough psi to the calipers🤔🤔🤔 thx tomk ret fdny

would have been perfect if the 18' tires had the red stripe instead of gold
The stripes are available in nearly every color from www.dbclasscitires.com - you can pick your favorite!
Nice
Did it push the wheel out any?
I would have installed power brakes., and kept it stock
Neat
Awe, can't you put like 38" rims with some serpentine belt tires? I mean fuck it up good. Nice goat, love ponchos from the 60's.
We'll try to find some 38"s for you for the next episode. Chrome or in a color? 😃
64 GTO was 203 inched 65 GTO was 206.1 inches. The 66 was 206.4 in so it didn't grow more than .3 inches over the 65.
Do you ever consider people build their cars to their liking?
@@SD70ACE- yep, some people have bad taste. Wheels can make or break your ride,
@@archiebunker6059 I agree but it's their build ,their vision and hard work
Wheels are way to big!!!!................
No No, those wheels look terrible.
Very nice car.... until the sissy wheels cam on!
The wheels ruin the car.
Looks ghetto
Beautiful car, clown car wheels. Shame.
