THANK YOU!!! I am working on my Mothers 6460, that hadn't been used for decades. It was given to my Daughter who took it to a shop that refused to work on it. It had a bad Fixed Cam, (which I have received a new replacement) While checking it over to clean the insides and oil, found the Pattern Mechanism totally seized. I removed the assembly, tried soaking it in solvent overnight to no avail. Your heat gun trick made ALL the difference!! I used a laser thermometer and heated it to 140º Slowly it loosened up for me. THANK YOU! Enjoyed and learned much from you. P.S. Waiting for the Tri-Flow oil to arrive.
Hi your explanation is excellent however demonstration is not clear.all parts are not seen clearly therefore felt difficult to unerstand everything.it will very helpful for me and of course for all if you will make video in a lighter place.
Great video. I have a HV 6000 Model #6020. It was sewing fine but the zigzag stopped working. Took it to a repair man. First he said a tension screw was missing and replaced it. Then he said the cam for zigzag was cracked and replaced that by watching a RUclips video. Well the zigzag still won't work and he says he has given up. He now says the buttonholder could the be the problem; but I have never used the buttonholder, and he says because I didn't it gums up. Does that sound right to you?
Fedeleness - yup they gum up from lack of use. You need to warm it up with hair drier, and generously lubricate with Tri-Flo (or other Teflon spray if you can't get that. DO NOT USE WD-40! I really wouldn't use any other lubricants, but sewing machine oil if that's all you've got is ok. NEVER the WD stuff!).
I do use that button a lot though , just not for the buttonhole selection. Watched all three of your vids. You did a great job, lots of info and your explanations are extremely easy to understand. Thanks so much!
I have the same problem, only straight stitch works. Have heated it and used a penetrating oil similar to wd40. At least straight stitch works better now, but it seems I should have used some other type of penetrating oil! Maybe I can wash the old penetrating oil out with denatured alcohol and start over.
@@UnconventionalDIYprojects wd-40 is GREAT till the advent carrier evaporates.. Then it is sticky. Husqvarna specifically specified tri-flow lubricant. Yes, I've used the doing stuff before... It works for a while... But it fails quicker next time. I honestly haven't worked on my machines in a long time. I want to get back into it, I just haven't had the time.
