The "incorrect" installation may look comical, but fear of doing something like that is exactly why I watch these videos. Thanks for being so to-the-point!

Oh it can get even more incorrecter than that, pardon my grammar. I'm an IT tech and have a friend who's an electrical engineer that tried building a PC for a mutual friend. When the computer stopped booting after being moved I was called to fix it. You can probably guess what I found, he had skipped the retention screw entirely because he couldn't find that riser so the SSD was just sticking out like a sore thumb! Apparently that'll still sorta work for a few weeks.

The main point is to use the riser first, install the m2 nvme ssd under an angle of 30 degrees press it towards the riser and on top of it screw down the little screw in order to get the m2 ssd fully horizontal. Many people would forget the riser.

This is a really good video, thank you! Unfortunately, my B450 Gaming Pro Carbon came with only 1 M.2 screw (as also specified in the user manual, I didn't just lose it). I just wanted to install a new M.2 drive into the second slot, so that I can clone the old one onto the new one, and it turned out I must buy a new M.2 screw. The standoff is there, but the screw is only available for one slot.
I like MSI, and I tend to purchase it also in the future, but it would be a great help if you would consider adding a second screw to the package as well. It's not about the cost, it's about me now having to order a new screw and to wait for it to arrive.

I just cannot get a grip on the screw with some other component sticking out right next to it, and no screwdriver, not even the one that came with the set of M2 screws I just got in the mail (I guess that one is meant for the inner screw), seems to get any sort of grip on it. So frustrating, I understand how it's supposed to work, but the practicalities are getting in the way.

alright thanks MSI, so I'm going to assume the blue plastic coating on the heatsink is to be removed. Maybe you want to clarify that in your quick installation guide or video tutorials; both this one and the 9 year old one referred to in your quick install guide of my b550-a pro.

*_" I'm going to assume the blue plastic coating on the heatsink is to be removed"_*
Only a plastic film that covers the thermal pads on the heatsink should be removed. Secondly, the sticker on the SSD should not be removed, it's thermally conductive and doesn't affect cooling in a negative way. If you remove it you actually void your warranty.

when I unscrewed the heatsink or whatever the bridge part is that was hiding the slot... the whole thing came off of the motherboard. The bottom screw that stayed in YOUR motherboard in the video came up... along with the latch that turns to lock the NVMe in place. All of it was connected together. of course SOMETHING has to fkn go wrong. I can't separate them either. I'm actually so pissed rn

A regular sata ssd would be installed in one of your cases drive bay and supplied power via a sata/6pin power cable from your psu. And a sata data cable from your motherboard, usually located near your chipset on the right side of the motherboard
