The power is incredible. The sound is pretty darned good as a GTS. Simply magical to drive. It’s a 10 in my garage.

That acceleration figures..goes like stink...just imagine what sort of performance the 2020 998 Carrera would have to come up with just the keep the gap between it and little brother boxster/cayman, and yet this is only the GTS trim, no doubt the GT4, if they ever make one, would absolutely be savage

Sound is the least of this engines problems. You might want to give it a try. I don't even think the 993 has as bad lag as this thing. It's absolutely dreadful.
Read the manual. Sports mode sounds better than Sports+!

sport mode gives you pops and crackles when rev, sport plus enhances and focuses on track and drive performance. should have revved i sport mode

Yep Subaru have put a fat $0 product improvement for the wrx sti. A 1998 model was quicker, lighter, handled better. They are a lost cause investing money into family SUV’s and raised up Impreza. Cutting edge 25 years ago but now CVT everything

Porsche 718 GTS clams 0-100 in 4.3sec, actual result is 4.0sec
Porsche ALWAYS says more (humble) BMW always says less (arrogant lairs).
According to our tests, spanning over 10 years, BMW is actually one of the few brands that are usually very accurate with their figures. You have to keep in mind our tests are more about real-world times, recorded on a pretty ordinary surface. Hope that helps.

There is no lag ffs. The vvt sorts that out - far more “lag” in the flat 6 as you have literally no power or torque under 5500rpm
