The camera movement in 0:16 this swing shot is so beautiful.. amazing choreography ! ...i wonder how it must have been shot !! ....also I loved the soft glowy look of the film ... Would like to see lighting breakdown of this film !
Ahh thank you! Very very kind words. I think it’s the best sensor under $10k right now. Something about the image just feels good. Smarter people than me can explain it though 😅
Thanks for making and sharing this Jordan. Man this really pulls on some heartstrings. Loved it! And the execution is top-notch. The shots made me feel like I was right there! And the subject you chose matters so much. I feel we live in times where a message like this is really needed and that's why many people are resonated to make stuff like this. I myself did a short (latest one uploaded in my channel) about the pleasures of documenting the everyday. Looking forward to more of your films.
great stuff, I am a new father I can relate to this, thank you for being a father , and amazing work I really like the color n shots , keep up the work
Thank you for watching! It can be easy to get down on yourself about the amount of followers, but I've found it's important to remember why I started making videos in the first place: to tell stories that impact people. If all I do is impact one person, I've accomplished the goal!
I did! I have a Kipon focal reducer that I've been using to adapt vintage Nikon glass to the Fuji sensor. It gives a nice softness. Thank you for watching!
outstanding footage here mate ! nice framing and insane color grading (dehancer i assume) here's a question if i may : is this the Tokina ATX version, the famous "Angénieux" one ? If that so, what was the original mount and how did you adapt it (metabones or regular passive adapter) ? keep it up, just subscribed to your channel !
How did you create such beautiful Halation? Promist 1 or something similar/ plugin in in davinci maybe? extremely well done. looking forward to a breakdown. Thanks!
Thank you for watching and commenting! Halation and bloom is something I like adding in post in conjunction with Dehancer. I believe there will be a film breakdown coming soon! Without that plug-in, I’m sure there are other ways, but Dehancer has been the best I’ve found
I’ve personally found no real difference between 720 and 360mbps. As far as ProRes, I just haven’t purchased the necessary cards to shoot in that codec. I’m at least telling myself that there’s not a big enough difference between h265 and ProRes that would make me spend extra on those expensive cards 😆
@@jordanadudek Sounds reasonable. Benefit that I find using prores is way better performance in editing. H265 in pain in the butt, whereas prores is much easier for computer. But in quality I can't tell if there is difference. Haven't really tested that yet.
@@jordanadudek Maybe your render settings. So often the RUclips videos I see filmed with cameras like this only look good if I have HD on. Here, it looks stellar in 480p. Maybe also the LUTS you use and the lenses for the close-up shots. The depth of field looks lovely. And maybe what microphone you used to capture the sounds of the family. Thanks a bunch!
The rolling shutter performance on the Fuji is incredible and very underrated. I've owned a Komodo, and loved it, but this Fuji has one of the better handheld looks I've seen.
Hey! I believe you can still get a beautiful image from the xh2, but I don't think it'll be the same. The 6k sensor in the xh2s is the perfect balance of resolution and dynamic range, with a great organic feel to the grain. If you can afford the slight price difference, it's worth it to me. However, it's hard to know if anyone will be able to see the difference over RUclips 😂
I have a fuji xt3 but I was looking for something with more texture, something more filmy, organic, so I started looking at the black magic 6k, but after watching your video I was very confused, this fuji has a really interesting image, congratulations !
Beautiful film. Cinematography was so good man.
Thanks man! Excited to keep creating content with you
A master piece.
wow! you can feel the environment. I'm in love with that video. watched it at least 5 times
I've seen a lot of X-H2S open gate footage on youtube, but this film is the *crème de la crème* of X-H2S footages! Well done 👏
Oh wow, thank you so much for this praise! The Fuji is certainly capable of some stunning images. I personally love what Serr has posted!
Absolutely stunning
Thank you James! Glad you enjoyed it
まじでめっちゃいいぞ、これ。
続けくれよな
Thank you! I’m glad this film connected with you!
Love the use of light in this - beautiful work!
that match cut on the swing had me stuck lol i had to rewind. This is great
😂 😂 mission accomplished!

I admire the color and cinematography. This is a beautiful and meaningful film. Great work!
Thank you! I’m definitely finding out in my own journey that pretty images and technicality will never trump a story, but they can add to it.
@@jordanadudek You’re most welcome! That’s excellent to hear, and I couldn’t agree more. Story is the core of every film.
you guys need more subs. - made me more appreciative of my own dad. It was enough for him to be there, all I lack is gratitude for it..
I’m glad this resonated with you and made you think about your own dad. That’s the power of storytelling 🥲
Incroyable performance
May I just say how good you are. Wow! The image was brilliant 😲
You are far too kind my friend. Thank you so much!
What a beautiful piece of art. Thanks for this
Thank you for watching! 🥲
Amazing work man! And being a parent seems so amazing through your work.
Definitely some of the absolute best looking footage from the xh2s! Amazing work. Cheers!

Beautiful video and beautiful sentiments.

Super excellent footage from the Xh2s! Love the vibe and overall piece. Beautiful memories. Nicely done!
Thank you so much for watching! Was hoping for a “memories” vibe, so glad that came across 🥲
das coisas mais lindas que já vi na vida. Parabéns!
Beautiful work! Keep it up!
Thank you so much! Hoping to keep going 💪🏻
The colors on this are next level! Would love to see your color process!! Great work!
Thank you man! The Fuji and lens combo really shined here. I think I might have something with Dehancer lined up soon!
Those transitions were 🔥 Great job, loved it!

Amazing.
Absolutely beautiful. Beautiful grade and a soulful message. Great job man
Wow, this was so well made. Love everything about this is absolutely amazing bro :’))
incredible video, could you make a video on how to get such a clean VO?
Thank you man! Unfortunately, I didn’t do the VO on this one. My good friend, Trent Erwin did! I do need to do a brief tutorial on it though
did u use some kind of speedbooser? the film looks great! soooo cinematic!
I did! I have a Kipon focal reducer that I've been using to adapt vintage Nikon glass to the Fuji sensor. It gives a nice softness. Thank you for watching!
Very nicely done Jordan. Keep at it. 👍
Thank you! Hoping to continue to make films like this that speaks to others. Definitely not easy though 😅
You did such a wonderful job, most definitely deserve more subs
I’m glad you enjoyed the film! Also happy and content to already see the amount of people that are connecting with the message
LOVED THIS! 🥺🥰
Thank you so much Shelby!!
We’ll done 👏

here's a question if i may : is this the Tokina ATX version, the famous "Angénieux" one ? If that so, what was the original mount and how did you adapt it (metabones or regular passive adapter) ?
keep it up, just subscribed to your channel !
Thank you! Yes it was all through Dehancer. And you’re correct about the Tokina and the optical formula. It’s truly a hidden gem 🙃
Great video! May I know whats the bgm for this film? Super heartwarming
Hey! I'll have to dig a bit deeper, but I know it's from a group called Inola, who licenses their music on Musicbed!
masterpiece
How did you create such beautiful Halation? Promist 1 or something similar/ plugin in in davinci maybe? extremely well done. looking forward to a breakdown. Thanks!
Thank you for watching and commenting! Halation and bloom is something I like adding in post in conjunction with Dehancer. I believe there will be a film breakdown coming soon! Without that plug-in, I’m sure there are other ways, but Dehancer has been the best I’ve found
Great Job!!! The Music is so nice and calming, what is the track?
The song is “Current” by Inola. It was licensed through Musicbed
Out of curiosity, why that particular codec? Why not Prores or 720mbps ALL-I? Although, film looked great, no complaints there. Nice work.
I’ve personally found no real difference between 720 and 360mbps. As far as ProRes, I just haven’t purchased the necessary cards to shoot in that codec. @@tonipanula totally get that. Post can get bogged down a bit with h265, but it’s worth it at the moment for me!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lovely work!! Isn’t that the Tokina 28-70 angenieux type?
You’re right! It really has a lovely image
Beautiful! Is the softness from a mist filter or something, or is that a post effect?
It was all done in post! I used the Dehancer plug-in, which is very powerful!
@@jordanadudek Would you be willing to make a video about the making of the video? Talking about color grading, etc.?
@@poklarI think I can make that happen! Are there any other aspects of the video you’d like me to talk about?
@@jordanadudek Maybe your render settings. So often the RUclips videos I see filmed with cameras like this only look good if I have HD on. Here, it looks stellar in 480p. It would be interesting to see what the lens gives without digital filters enabled compared to a casual Fuji X modern lens.
Can you see that? No gimbal but no rolling shutter. It's affordable for my eyes to enjoy the scene.
The rolling shutter performance on the Fuji is incredible and very underrated. I've owned a Komodo, and loved it, but this Fuji has one of the better handheld looks I've seen.
What SD/Cfexpress did you use for 360mbps?
I used a V60 Lexar 256GB card. Was pretty cheap through Amazon!
What sequence format is this? This isn’t 16:9 is it?
The film was shot in open gate, which is a 3:2 ratio. The native resolution for that format is 6.2k
Hi, you think you could achieve this same image quality with the xh2?? Or xh2s is more "cinematic "
Hey! I believe you can still get a beautiful image from the xh2, but I don't think it'll be the same. I absolutely love the X-H2S. You can of course get great footage from pretty much any modern camera these days. But this Fuji has a special image
what resolution is this?
Hey Arthur, the Fuji shoots a 6.2k resolution on this “open gate” format! It’s quite beautiful
hey, what lens adapter did you use?
I used the Kipon Nikon F to Fuji X focal reducer!
How is the new AF behaving when your kids move?
Haven’t used the AF actually. Using all manual focus at the moment. I’ve heard some good things about it, and really want to try autofocus soon!
