- Dressing is a function as basic as eating or drinking and, in the right conditions, putting together an outfit can be as pleasurable and rewarding as cooking a good meal or mixing a good drink. We value our right to dress as we please and bristle at dress codes that tell us what we can and can’t wear. Yet in our increasingly globalized and multicultural world people’s sartorial choices and traditions come into conflict, and clothes become as potent a source of contention as words. From freeing the nipple to banning the burqa, the arguments over values, identity, equality, and liberty can revolve around clothes in a profound way. Can (and should) there be true sartorial liberty?

Dressing is a form of overt communication.👞👔👠💃 It expresses the unspoken values, principles and intentions of the wearer. Anybody can dress up, but not everybody is well dressed. The difference is in the details, which like any good art form or science, can be developed and learned. Everywhere you look most any well known performer, athlete or public figure, pays particular attention to how they come across and especially how they dress. Most actually have personal stylists to help them with their style and image. Dressing tells people upfront who you are or aspire to be, you have to live up to the rest to be true to yourself! Anyway, just food for thought!💡 Peace!✌
even though you commented this 2 years ago i feeel like its quite meaningful especially today and in the fashion world
O Love gib
It would have been nice if he was able to touch on the fashion expressions of people of varying sexualities and orientations, those people have a very interesting sense of style
why should that be a spcial chapter in this discussion? don´t get it.-
fucks this nostalgia. That boat has sailed long ago, its 2017 and we need to dress in a completely new manner instead of escaping into an old style. We should look to a Futurist fashion style.
SkitlerRemix nah
You clearly didn't understand his point.
We are now five years into the future and it looks like jeggings and spandex.
