World's Best "Holiday" Business Class?? Austrian Airlines 777 from New York to Vienna!

- When the holidays roll around, Vienna turns into a bit of a winter wonderland. Think Christmas markets, carriage rides, ice skating, and enough Glühwein to fill the Danube. So when presented with the opportunity to fly Austria's flag carrier - Austrian Airlines - in Business Class to Vienna in late November, I of course couldn't turn it down. Though their planes are quite old, I had heard amazing things about Austrian's crews, onboard service and food/drink. DO&CO - the "gold standard" of airline catering - is based in Vienna and provides meals (& onboard chefs!!) to Austrian.
Now.... despite being a member of the formidable Lufthansa Group (and Star Alliance), Austrian keeps a fairly low profile. Their fleet is a modest 65 planes (with only 9 long-haul) and they carried just over 11 million passengers in 2022. Lufthansa, by comparison, flies 385+ planes and carried 50+ million passengers in 2022.
So how will Austrian's business class stack up to the likes of Lufthansa and the other big European carriers? Join me on this special 777 flight from Newark to Vienna to find out!!

can someone add some helpful information? I plan to go from New York to Milan for my daughter's 13th birthday. Boy, would I love to attend business class for the first time? I have gotten some discounted fares, but with further research, I found out that, for example, Luftsnsa feels like a southwest flight. I’ve discovered this very charming video, and I’m wondering if it is worth the price of $2600 or so to go business class or if there is another airline that you recommend from New York to Milan.

Looks like an oldie but goodie product, if Newark wasn't such a pain to get to from Manhattan (where I usually stay), in both time and money. But that lounge though!

Thanks for watching Red!! Agree, Newark is a bit of a headache to get to, but sometimes the fares outta there are so cheap that it’s worth braving the Path hahaha. And also worth checking out the new Terminal A if you haven’t already!

I get them from liveatc.net - the recordings are only available for some airports (hence why I couldn’t get the approach and landing into Vienna). There must be hundreds of airports on there and thousands of hours of ATC recordings so have fun!!
