CAP Agree there too. The Chevies and GMCs of 67-72 were the second best looking. The mid to late 50's GM trucks were the best looking, I think..
But honestly, I've never met an early 50's thru late 80's American pickup that I didn't like. :-D

My grand pa had this same truck, but RWD, red color, in the early 70s. He took me for rides around the country roads, when we got home I started to cry every time because I wanted to keep going. Now I'm grown up in my early 50s, am thinking to buy one of these trucks to drive it around on week ends, that will bring lots of wonderful memories of a happy childhood.

This truck is a great build!
My Dad had a '70 Ford F100 Ranger 2WD...man, I remember riding in that baby when I was a very small boy, just a seat belt across my lap, my dad shifting on the column while alternating drags off his Winston cigarettes. SBC 302, three on the tree, bench seat, lots of metal in the interior. My dad seemed so young and vital driving his rig and putting his time in being a good dad and provider.
So much fun, I get misty-eyed thinking about it. I wish I had the cheese to get him another one almost like it before he leaves us for good. And a blue '66 Impala coupe with a 327 with a 4 speed.
    Thanks, Pop!

My jaw is on the floor. This is such an AMAZING truck. I'm not usually one for 'resto-mods' or putting new stuff on the old vehicles, but dang... you can't even tell!! They did this with so much care for the original styling, and in many ways improved on things without changing the appearance (seat, dash, etc.). I can't even begin to imagine the cost of this project -- probably more than I'll make in several years -- but kudos to Mr. Ward and ICON. You have my respect!

Wow! I know this day would come; I just did not know that it would come so soon. In 1982 I bought a 1972 F100 8 ft. long fleetside Ford pickup. The engine is a straight-six 240 with a three-speed on the column manual transmission. It had under 100,000 miles when I bought it and I put 150,000 miles on it. I was told that it would never be a collector’s truck but now it is. Cool, I will drive my truck thinking I am now in style. Have a good day.

My Dad had picked up a 1970 F250 Longbed Highboy about 25 years ago, and we used it as our field service truck for several years. It's got the old 390 iron head that never worked exactly right. It has the 4 speed manual and part time 4X4 with lockouts. It's retired now, and sitting in our polebarn along with my 66 GMC I1000 I'm hoping to restore someday.
We also had an F100 1970 that Dad had bought in the mid 1970's but he sold that one a few years ago. Exact same body style but it was a 2X4 instead of 4X4. That one only saw winter use on nice days. It had the 360 from the factory which was the same block as the 390. My uncle also had an F250 as his service truck. He had replaced the engine at one point because it was getting a little tired, so Dad put that engine in his F100 because his 360 had gone out. We ran it that way until he sold it. Even a tired 390 was better than the 360.

Only thing i would change is the engine. I would have went with the 7.3 cam in valley engine (godzilla). Much better torque and more useful for truck applications like towing. Not to mention Reliability is way better with OHV engines over OHC, DOHC. More complexity and moving parts = not as reliable. Or maybe a LSX but i would have stayed ford like you guys did cause it old with the new.

This truck is beautiful! You guys did a great job modernizing but keeping the classic coolness of the truck. Very well done.

Those were the days. I'm 72 Y/o and will always remember by F150 4 x 4. But WOW what an improvement. I can only imagine the ride and handling. Great work and so iconic.

I appreciate all the details that went into this truck. ICON really does a fantastic job of creating vehicles that are better than when they were new. Keep the videos coming!!

My dad had a 78' & 79' when I was a teen, and those are still some of my favourite trucks, next to the aero body of the late 90s early 2000s.

This is beautiful. This build really checks all the boxes for what you could dream for in a bumpside/dentside Ford. I have a 1970 F250 Highboy and dream of making it look this good someday. Good work!

Don't spend any money on production. It is perfect. Like two guys talking. Every question I had, you answered! How did you do that?

Man, the interior, just nailed it, in an instant I'm 5 years old again riding in "Rusty Truck" we named it, hand me down trucks from Grandpa. Except yours is in way better condition lol, we had holes in the floor and laughed and laughed when we'd go through puddles on purpose to watch the water splash in.
Ya never know what you'll remember from time with your Dad.
    Great job!
