    people who swap new engines in old bodies are really saying that old style is way sexier than the new.
    new rides look like they were designed by bureaucrats thinking about mileage safety and mass appeal. old vehicles look like they were designed by an artists who love wheels.

      I bring it up all the time. These car companies would make so much money by making a few tribute vehicles a year. Old school bodies with the comforts/engines from the new ones. I know I’d Buy one. Or by just remaking some of the old stuff in general. Not saying roll out tons of them, but a few tribute vehicles a year.... heck I think they would sell themselves.

    • @donalderdbrink647
      @donalderdbrink647 5 лет назад +44

      REAL Ford guys would NEVER put a LS in ANYTHING Ford!!! There's tons of options now that are fairly cheap like 2-3-4 valve engines and the 5.0-5.8 engines. Buying a new crate coyote and control pack is a little pricey but they're showing up more and more in the parts yards which is going to bring the price down.

The 6R80 is a best of a transmission in stock form. Strap a turbo on the coyote and e85 and you can make 800 whp reliably on stock everything and still have 20+ mpg. The old big blocks just can't compete is stock form.

    As to swapping the twin I-beams from the later trucks... I did the same thing, but to my '66 F100 - have boosted disc brakes now - much better braking power, and it no longer pulls left or right. Same parts should fit a '65. I also swapped in a power steering box from the same donor - had to mix and match parts from the steering column to make it all work, but it wasn't too bad. As for the engine, I didn't go all the way to a Coyote - but went with a fresh 351W (with GT40P heads - short tube headers fit them) plus an AOD. It runs great, does 80 mph all day, and gets 17 mpg, which isn't too bad, all things considered.

Still nice to go for a Sunday drive and get many thumbs up. Love me some Coyote but would go all alum 427 duel quad for aesthetics if I were to tear down and rebuild. Sooo much $ if you go for power. Suspen, brakes, trans, fucking helmet for my old stupid ass. Naw! Let her be. She is a beauty setting in the corner with stock fake wood grain vinyl starting to peel on tail gate. now if you are young it might be because you like the old style better but my brother is 64. he has always had a thing for computers and technology but i am more a purist who would never think of dropping a multi valve engine in a 68 camaro.

    351 stroked to 390 plus ..no computer,no fuss !!! Crownvic frontend. or you could go with a 410CI.. the sky is the limit !! DONT USE AN LS motor ,thats bullshit, keep it Ford .

    All these folks talk about 'reliability' and things like it being better talking about a swap. My 2nd gen Bronco started and ran everyday. I towed, plowed and 4 wheeled the piss out of till 260k miles. The 351w ran like a champ and only needed several worn parts like water and fuel pump and similar. I did do crank bearings due to a little noise in the lower end. That was done on a Saturday in my driveway and single car garage. Signs showed it could of went much further except 2 telephone poles jumped out in front of me. The truck held up super well but did bend the front end askew. The speed I hit the poles at would of decimated a new vehicle. An airbag sure would of been nice though

    Stroke a 460 out to about a 540” and get some real torque, but don’t expect much gas mileage.....the money you save by not paying king’s ransom for the coyote will buy a lot of gas for a 540”....

    That's why I don't like DOHC just because it's to wide....that 5.0 looks like a BBF 460...I cant wait until you put a LS kilerl 7.3 Godzilla in a 2020 mustang 😁😁

    Please stop putting those stupid ugly sounding mufflers! I want to( HEAR THE MOTOR) not cherry bomb sounding mufflers , im old school i love it when you hear the engine come alive you hear the valves opening up if you have a carb you hear the throat of the engine and the headers sound you will hear that also, do not be afraid of a higher lift camshaft or RV cam for better low end performance cause a coyote could use low end performance and yea im a hipo engine enthusiast. You will hear and feel the differance........

    No replacment for displacment if youre chaseing crazy hp you want the most volume fastest 1/4 are yet to be beat by a smaller engine example: 125cc vs 5.0 obvious winner is 5.0 the thing about this truck is its nice and its not a 🐌 like most shit boxes people try and put power to like a honda civic

    When you said $6K to begin the cost of a coyote motor that's where I completely lost all interest in the video. It just slapped me right dead in my face. I woke up to reality and quickly hit the home button to find another video that wawsn't going to ruin my dreams completely. I am absolutely sure that I can pick up a salvageable engine and build it from scratch for a fraction of the cost of a glorified Coyote engine, i do at least have that kind of skill set. There are people that have more money than brains so I am pretty sure that we will continue to see the Coyote around for a good while. Just not me!

    Love the swap guys. Glad it's not an LS motor. Guys love LS motors because they're idiot proof. It takes some brains and knowledge to know how a coyote works. Chevy guys get confused when there's more than one camshaft and more than two valves per cylinder.

    What would be most cost effective, including the fun factor ? Swapping a 4.6 for the Coyote, or putting a blower and electronics and tune on the 4.6 ? This is a fabulous truck !

    “Except for the coyote motor, mustang headers, caltracs, vintage air, power steering pump, radiator, fuel system, new gauges, new electric, and miscellaneous parts to accept the swap and handle the power, this truck is stock!” lol, it’s far from stock. It’s a sweet ride, but more hot rod than stock.

    I have a 2013 F150 with the 5.0 and 6 speed automatic transmission with the M for +/-push button manual option on the shifter and it's the best truck I've ever owned and to be stock it's the fastest considering the weight!!! Pulls my siding trailer and tools like a damn beast along with the most COMFORTABLE ride... I never thought I'd be driving a FORD truck ever!!! I'm in love!
