I really appreciate the fact that you don't teach by the book, that it's improper. That sounds strange, but I made the mistake of learning a lot of songs note for note (including this one) and it makes playing more like a job. Keep on it, man. More beginners should have the improper philosophy and give everything their own flavor, and make it fun to learn and play songs!
Your videos are so helpful to me. I love your energy and how you incorporate faith into your lessons. I do like country music but I am happy you did a tutorial for shinedown as it is my preferred genre of music.
I really enjoy learning slash trying to learn from your videos as a recent Hodkins Lymphoma Cancer survivor I have taken up the GEETAR for a hobby and I really like it, kinda reminds me of my grandfather playing gospel hymns on the back porch while we listened in awe and you have helped me out to follow in his footsteps but I do have to say when you put in the extra plucking and poking around on strings it makes we want to give it a go but then realize that I should stick to the basics for now lol.. thanks for the help and God bless you and your family. Remember that I am following with chemo brain and keep the simple stuff flowing . Thanks again

Hey Matt you should of taught the beginning of the song. You play A string open then on same string you play 2nd fret that's a B then 3rd fret C and there you go.

I do alot of the Cadd9 in alot of songs I play, but when I play this song I play normal C chord. To me it sounds better. Who do you prefer to listen to this song?? Skynard or Shinedown?? I like Shinedowns version because of it being shorter than the original. But I do listen and like both versions.

I like ya videos....and keeping them simple is a great, but ya should walk the base not into the C chord...and the chorus prob should be done in bar chords along the neck...js

i just strum the bottom couple strings on the up strum for sure.
you have to come up with a cyclical rhythm and the up strokes come naturally
