It didn't even take me 30 seconds to like it. Some people have this endearing vibe about them & with the family's involvement - truly, a Simple Man. Loved the lesson!
This is the first song I ever worked on, and to this day I work on it nearly every time I pick up my guitar. There’s so much variation in how you can play it, it’s always fun and interesting. Can be quite a challenge depending on what you wanna do with it.
I watched this a while back, and regret not leaving a comment. This is a fantastic lesson, and you have a great teaching style. I'm glad it popped back up on my YT feed. Thank you. GT
This was the very best lesson I found! I love the way you teach this song. Especially calling out the string for the last riff. Thank you so much. I am only a beginner but I was able to follow. Thank you!!
Thank you! I live my life on this song! I lost my house! In a house fire! I lost everything! I did save my pets and my life! It's been a struggle ! I've had to give up my playing due to the out come! But to hear you! U have reminded me on how to play again! May God bless you and your family! Please keep in touch! U r my friend! Please keep in touch!!!
Can't put my finger on it exactly, but it doesn't matter what it is, "it" makes you a great teacher. I suppose it starts with talent, but it takes more than that. I guess it's a combination of things, but it shows easily. Instantly subscribed.
Brilliant way of teaching a relatively complex picking pattern that requires hand and eye coordination. I would offer the best tutorial for beginners and intermediate players on RUclips for this song. I am the the latter, and learned the song in 20 minutes following your clear easy to understand explanations. Just became a subscriber. 👍👍
Wonderful lesson Kevin. I’m not that familiar with their songs but the intermediate picking pattern looks like a fun challenge, or even a warm up exercise. Thanks!
I'm just about to tackle this song. I'm fairly new at guitar, but I love your breakdown. And your patience. You have a good singing voice for this song. I subscribed 😊
I really like the way you keep it simple and fun...I'm just an old fart...but I love my music...with your lessons, I can sing in my off key terrible voice..but keep myself and friends entertained...
loved this lesson Kevin! I really like the relaxed version you played - sounds real nice. Question: what picks does Maggie like the best? I'd go with the medium myself lol! Thanks for another great lesson - you made this song sound so flowing and it is actually relaxing .. nice job
😂stressing me out too. But how do you tune down? Do you have to re-tune guitar strings to diff notes? Mmm probably but how do you know what to change them too, guess by ear maybe or is there a quick fix 😅 tkx u all xx
I’m no expert but at around 3:50 after explaining the strum missing beat two you’re playing DDDDU or that’s what it looks n sounds like .. sorry to be pedantic as it sounds good anyway
I love this lesson Kevin but I was having the same problem. I just could not hear that missing second strum ; so I finally went to the comments to see if anybody had the same issue. Glad to find the answer. And it sounds great with DDDU.
At the seven minute mark: I don't think the count is right in the third bar, the first Am. There's 5 downs and I'm trying to figure out what needs to be adjusted to make it work.
@@Relaxandlearnguitar I agree :) In the tab diagram maybe remove the last Up strum in the third bar so it's (U on open A, UDUD, U on open E, D on G, U on open E) ? I like the lesson, you're a good teacher and the song is just the right increase in difficulty for me now. I've subscribed.
I don't understand it some days I can barely get anything to come out the guitar and then some days I sit down and play the song flawlessly within a couple hours
It's a great song to learn and if you listen to the Scorpions "Always Somewhere ",you'll find them almost identical. I start playing one and end up playing the other. 😊

Thanks Diana! Very versatile. And it can definitely be a challenge.
Put your capo on the first fret, then tune it standard. Take the capo off your tuned in.
Thanks for the tip!

Thanks so much! Such kind words and I am happy to help. Maggie prefers thin- easier to chew…
do you have a lesson on the strumming and chords of the chorus?
You can use the beginner pattern for the chorus like at 3:00
Dankeschön ❤
You are welcome
Another great lesson Kevin! Can you add a tab for that combination picking/strumming you showed us starting at 14:20 in your video?
Nevermind- I see it now!
Thanks! Happy you liked it. Great tune!
❤Merci !
You are welcome.
Hi , Nice lesson. Can you do a lesson on "so far away" by mark knopfler
I'll check it out!
Show de bola, dá um abraço no dog!
Thanks!
😂stressing me out too. But how do you tune down? Do you have to re-tune guitar strings to diff notes? Mmm probably but how do you know what to change them too, guess by ear maybe or is there a quick fix 😅 tkx u all xx
Lol. You will need to use a tuner and tune all the strings down 1/2 step. So Eb Ab Db and so on.
I’m no expert but at around 3:50 after explaining the strum missing beat two you’re playing DDDDU or that’s what it looks n sounds like .. sorry to be pedantic as it sounds good anyway
Nice catch :)
Sorry Kevin I was just struggling to get my strumming to sound like yours lol

Should probably be 4

Video idea for you: how to tune your guitar down a half step, lol
Maggie May is a good dog.
Thanks!
I don't understand it some days I can barely get anything to come out the guitar and then some days I sit down and play the song flawlessly within a couple hours
That happens. It’s important to play a little a day because it all stacks up and then it clicks and it’s great!
Thanks for all this. Perfect lessons for my skill set
You are welcome.

Youruber Jorge Chorau has put both together for comparison.
