I started listening Lynyrd Skynyrd when my son was a teenager. His favorite was Freebird and this one. Simple Man is a classic. My son died in an accident when he was 26 and when I hear these songs, it reminds me of him. It also makes me sad but love the words. I am 80 years old now and still rock when I hear this group

have a glass of whiskey and listen to the lyrics..if you've finished your drink and are wiping your tears. So you understood that the text is true 😢. a true rock ballad. thank you from the Czech Republic.
Your mum had a perfect taste of music.🎵🎶 I believe 🙏 that both your mum and stepdad are happy together in Paradise ❤️ and long life to you to always be cherishing their memory. 💯💪🧿
I’m sixty years old and David Gilmour is by far one of the most amazing guitarist I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing. His very own sound that can’t be duplicated is still discernible at every cord. The fact he has the chance and ability to perform his wizardry while his daughter has the ability to so eloquently provide vocals and be a part of that is truly amazing and a blessing to them but the rest of the world if they will simply listen. Thank everyone involved.
I can't be the only Northerner (NYC) who will love Lynyrd Skynyrd until I leave this mortal coil...✊🏼 RIP Gary Rossington, free as a 🐦 now. Hell of a way to get the band back together...🎸🎶🎹🎵🎼
Hell no I'm from Maine. Skynyrd is one of my favorite bands ever my mom sang this song to me when I was little and we danced together to it when I got married for mother and son dance. Song always will have special place in my heart.
RIP to Gary & all the LS band members. Grew up with Skynard, high school keg parties were the best with some Lynard Skynard going in Northern California 1981 - 1983. Johnny is awesome taking over for his brother & Donnie's band 38 Special was great also "Wild Eyed Southern Boys".
Kegger parties and Skynyrd in Northern California in the late 70's are some of my best memories too...I guess we were all doing the same thing. Good times.
@@sherstone I like the way you say it better "kegger parties" lol good times for sure, would like to snap my fingers & go back right now. Have a great day!
I listened to this song A LOT after my grandfather died. He didn't listen to the band, nor did I, very much. But he was a humble, intelligent, and modest man who accomplished a lot and I cherish the memories I have of him. Before he died, he gave me both his army canteen and his combat knife from basic training from his service in World War II, something my uncles really wanted because he knew I'd cherish them more than anyone. I keep them 100% safe and they're priceless to me. But his biggest accomplishment and the one I remember him best for is that when he worked for Bell Aerospace in Buffalo, NY they were subcontracted by Grumman, who was contracted by NASA to build the Lunar Module to land astronauts on the Moon. My grandfather who was a brilliant mechanical engineer designed the agena rocket engine for satellites, but they used his design for the ascent engine on the Lunar Module. That engine would fire after every Moon Walk (Lunar EVA) to bring the astronauts back to Lunar Orbit, and eventually come back home. Without my grandfather, and many thousands of others of course, our journey to the Moon would never have happened. My grandfather was very thrilled to be a part of that moment in our country's history and had some awesome stories about it. However, he remained extremely humble and modest. Thanks Lynyrd Skynyrd for getting through those really long months of mourning my grandpa, I really appreciate it!
I lost my mother last year and in many conversations she told me: "Never lose your humility", so this song makes me remember her and feel like she still looks out for me.
Which brings me to this story: I brought my mother to a Dr's appointment about a decade ago and the conversation led to she never blushed, long story short my father's Last name is " Welch " while talking to the Dr I said " look Ma that piece of medical equipment is named Welch & Halling in front of the Dr, she was about 78 at the time divorced 35 years, she blushed. Could of been her first and last. As I was writing this Cher came on " turn back time ", my mother and Cher chare the same birthday May 20. Lol.
My dad died april 2021 of lung cancer. He loved music, AND this song! He was a a musician. My dad was a simple man. I miss him everyday. When I hear this song I feel him! Thank you❤️god bless the simple man!!
My lord for guitars going all at once in perfect synchronization this is really what rock and roll used to be I am so impressed again Ronnie would be proud to know that this band has been this far and still has the way and means to completely lock a person into the performance bravo bravo bravo!
Saw these guys at music festival in southern Alberta in 1999. Started to rain lightly but there were so many people packed closely together and full of antifreeze that the rain turned to mist above our heads and we really did not get wet. Freaking magical scene.
Still watching here on July 1st, 2023. It's not often that a live performance of a song is even better than when they released it, but this is one of them. My all time favorite from these guys, very powerful, meaningful lyrics. Happy 4th of July everyone, stay safe! R.I.P. Gary Rossington.
My ex introduced me to this song....he was playing it while away in the DubaI airport jamming it loud in his headphones and crying from being over-tired and dancing while everyone watched him. I always kept him company while away as much as I could, through messages and sending music. He sent me this song and it made me hurt for him 'cos he has always been so alone. He doesn't want me anymore, but this song makes me tied to him and that no matter where he goes, I will always love and care for him and in that way he will never be alone.
Hope you're staying safe out there, folks. I know that times are tough right now, maybe the toughest they've ever been. Let that song comfort you and take heart. Keep your loved ones close and look out for your fellow human beings and let them look out for you. This shit'll pass, we will survive. Peace!
A big thank you to all my fans! What will my name and career be without all of your love and support? Amidst my darkest days you all stood by me, I don't have all the time in the world to reply, but i do read your heartwarming comments and i truly appreciate all. It's the season of love & so i decided to put smiles on the faces of my fans by going through old posts on my official page and hitting up random fans, So i can get to relate with my fans better through discussions of depth and humour, listening to compliments and criticisms on my career walk. She went though he'll with her husband and came back. That is a powerful movement from the 50"s, 60"s, still moving In the 70's, rolling into the 80's...still rolling into 1980 and kick'it, and on she goes. Singing up until her last breath. God accepted your love. We love ya. See ya in heaven.❤
Essa banda só tem músicas lindas, tanto em letra, conteúdo, arranjo e interpretação. Que pena que o tempo passa. Agora não temos mais músicas para ouvir, só recordando mesmo
Damn, this live performance is even better than the original. Never stop listening to the good old stuff. Carry it on for generations. Not only the sound, but also the meaning.
Pode ser qualquer música nova ou antiga que já escutei mas sem dúvida essa canção é mais mais linda e número 1 das minhas favoritas. Homem Simples escutando um Simple man ❤
Já gostava dessa música desde minha adolescência e passei a gostar ainda mais porque é a favorita do meu filho de 02 anos. Hoje ficamos os dois juntos, ele no meu colo, apreciando essa obra prima. Obrigado Lynyrd Skynyrd 🤘🏻

I walked through fields of gold with my sister one afternoon. She knew that her cancer was going to take her soon , but didn’t tell me and this is my treasured memory of a lovely woman.
I sang this song to both of my Sons from birth until their teen years when they started playing guitar. Then, in their 20s, they started a band and played it. They still play and sing it now in their 30's ❤ 🎸 🎤 🎶
I lost both legs to sepsis this year the surgeon came to my bed sat down on it and said to me we cannot understand why you are still here you should be dead because the lord let me live that's why thank you dear lord god bless everyone ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’ve seen hundreds of videos of them live and plenty of times in concert but I have to say this exact performance is nothing short of magical. The timing, the vocals, the guitar tone that all three of them are cranking out, loud AF but complete clarity!! Probably the top performance of simple man during the modern incarnation of this band!! The greatest Southern Rock band of all time. In fact if their was no Skynyrd theirs no southern rock. Just the Allman Brothers playing blues with a heavy rock and jam influence. Don’t get me wrong their where and still are some great southern bands, but Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet were the ones to put rock in southern rock! Nobody could touch those heavy grooves and screaming guitar tones! #LongLiveSkynyrd #LongLiveTheSimpleMan. #RestInPeaceRonnieVanZantAllenCollinsSteveGainesCassieGainsBobBurnsEdKingBillyPowellAndLeonWilkinson! #FlyHighYouFreeByrds!
😢😢🎉😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊g I😮😮😮😮tyHi, can someone help me with my microwave. I can't afford to get a new microwave as I have motor and health sickness. Its too dangerous for me to use the oven and hobs. But its suddenly stopped working I've changed the fuse in my plug and the fuse in the microwave. Everytime its plugged in the switch for all sockets trip in the fusebox. I would rather repair then get a new one I changed the microwave fuse once before 5 years ago. I just don't know what the problem is this time. If someone could help that would be great. No rush I'm using Ensure plus milkshakes for food at the moment but i would really like some hot food. Its hard not being able to reheat meals i haven't been able to finish. The fuse in the microwave is a 8 Amp T8A 250V 20mm × 5mm Ceramic fuse. The socket on the wall was replaced incase it was that causing the issue but it didn't help. I've tried it in other wall sockets it doesn't make a difference. I recently moved to a ground floor disability flat so i thought it was that because its blown out a blender that i had to replace, a carpet cleaner i still cant fix and my lenovo laptop im still trying to fix and a space heater that doesn't heat anymore. Bad luck maybe who knows only lived here a year. London, UK, Europe. Update: Thanks for all the suggestions, I've ordered replacement door switches if it still doesn't work I'll move onto getting a multimeter and checking the capacitor and magnetron. 😅 Also, I'm not a complete doof I don't know the jargon but I can put 2+2 together and of course I'm taking precautions and using protection. For anyone whose interested, these are the prices for the replacement parts I've found for specifically my countertop microwave. For the UK this is as cheap as it gets. Filter with microwave fuse = £4 Door switches for all three = £5 Capacitor = £6 Magnetron = £15 Knowledge = Priceless5 no t😅😊😊😊😮🎉🎉🎉❤❤😂❤😂❤❤❤❤❤😂1❤❤

It is said that Ronnie didn't write down the lyrics to any song he wrote. He wrote or co-wrote, what 90% of their songs? Wow. He was as irreplaceable as Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Duane Allman and Jon Bonham. What a talent!
Wow. This is a sound. Pure emotions. So nice and clear. The whole band. Vocals are just amazing. Epic song and even more epic live performance🤘 stay toghether people, we well go through this. We are one. ❤️✌️

Yup, like an anthem to life 😊
Ronnie was a poet. He was wise beyond his years and was taken far too soon.
Lucky enough to have seen them 3 times in the mid 70’s at the peak of the original line up. Such a great band - great writing and performances.

No one from the original band . A tribute band. 😢

Good times.

Good tribute to whom must have been a special person. We need more people like him ... and you.

Filter with microwave fuse = £4
Door switches for all three = £5
Capacitor = £6
Magnetron = £15

LYRICS:
Mama told me when I was young
"Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it'll help you some sunny day"
"Oh, take your time, don't live too fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
You'll find a woman and you'll find love
And don't forget, son, there is someone up above"
"And be a simple kind of man
Be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"
"Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied"
"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"
Oh, yes, I will
"Boy, don't you worry, you'll find yourself
Follow your heart and nothing else
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied"
"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can?"
"Baby, be a simple, be a simple man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of simple man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can?"
