I love the comments. Everybody united in Neil love. He’s my favorite artist. Been a fan since ‘72. One of my early 45’s was Heart of Gold. I’m 63 and have never seen Neil live. In 82 or 83 had tickets to see him in Iowa City but the night before he collapsed on stage in Louisville. Then they canceled the shows in Iowa City and Ames, Iowa.
I will never ever forget hearing his LP "After the Gold Rush" for the first time. I was wide-eyed and stunned!!! Amazing LP, every every song! I owe much to Neil Young, thank you sir Neil.
After The Gold Rush. If you were there for it or hearing this, remembering when you were there for it, truly one of the very highest points of music making in all of rock history! Just magic.
This song brings me back to standing around a fire at our bush parties during high school years. Your best friends, a barrel of beer, a camp fire and Neil music playing. Life sure was good!
I remember him doing this without the crowd noise. A little bit of approval at the beginning but right when he started singing, you can hear a pin drop. Then at the end, a pause to reflect....and then the applause and adulation.
I always say very hard to beat the lone singer male or female just their voice and guitar stands up anywhere neil young great artist greetings from ireland,
THANK YOU for posting this! I'm so happy to see Neil playing it in 2010. He's quoted in McDonnugh's "Shakey" in the late 80's as shelving the song from live performance because he didn't like one line in the refrain. But here he is, still playing it! I absolutely love this song, all those cool bluegrass runs and great lyrics. My brother used to play it all the time when I was a little kid.
My friend Ray loaned me 3 eight tracks and this was one of them. Even after getting stolen from my car and my friend Mark doing a little window smashing, I was able to return all 3 to Ray but he turned me on to some great music 🎵
Is this from the movie he did, where the whole show was him doing like a 3hr jsm session by himself? I've seen it a couple times and both times i wS like dammm i so wanted to be there.i'm 69 seen csn like 5 different times in different states but ive never hsd a chance to see MR. Neil Young. Sometimes life just does'nt come together right. I said with saddness
Q.C's talking ?? WTF ?? Hotel and Casino. Free tickets. This is why I'd rather listen to a recording. That way I don't have to want to stomp on someone's head.
My name a coincidence? 65 and playing Neil’s songs everyday, long may you run my man..

A really great song, created by a great song writer, and sung like no other. GO NEIL!!
We saw Neil Young every time when he came close to our area. I’ve lost count of how many times we saw him. Exceptional concert.

Same for me, in boarding school probably 1971 a friend put this album on and I was captivated. Like he was singing for me!!

2019. Still listening to this gem. 💓
All those obscure chords, u never hear music like this anymore, I guess it's too great, 60's and early 70's music will never be duplicated
Beautiful song

Where it belongs.
@@normsaunders4980 Too bad you don't appreciate good music. You probably listen to Crap music. That's Rap without the C.

As good as Massey Hall's version and this is nearly 40 years on… Go Neil!
