i really like his attitude, i like that part where he says, IF THE PEOPLE WERE HAPPY THAT YOU WERE THERE, says it all, i got to see todd's first year with styx, in the return to paradise theatre tour in 1996 at hershey pa, and it was probably the second best concert i've ever seen in my life, second because they didnt play songs like man in the wilderness and castle walls, but they did do the 5 men up front on stools with todd on bongo drums
I was there that day to see him play, and it had grown out wayyy longer than he normally has it. He made a comment that he "needed a hair cut, and to lose 5 pounds". I guess he was REAL busy around this time last year.
And this boys and girls is why we eat our veggies, go to bed early and practice till our faces bleed, friends abandon us, kids disown us, neighbors call the police on us, pets die of starvation and wives run off with guitarists.
Ridiculous technique...what makes Todd so great is his phrasing. Tasty to a tee! Unreal power and ease of stroke. Reminds me of Frank Briggs who is amazing in his approach and technique/power mix.
Hasn't his hair always looked like this? I guess he's not a trend setter or a trend follower. Good for him. You wanna see some real trend followers? Look at Journey's hair-dos in the 70's. Then look at their Raised On Radio hair-dos. It's a real trip. To the Saturday Night Fever disco club.
Now this guy has great melodic solid rhythms it totally make sense everything in his solo!
Love todds solos very tastefull not just a bunch of chops n blazing fast double bass drumming
PRACTICE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THERE!
PRACTICE AND TALENT!!

@vdrumatic ambassadors, top and bottom!
Very nice Todd Sucherman, that's what drums do to me just use your imagination and run with it .

Is Todd using Ambassadors or Emperors on the toms?
Most likely ambassadors
This guy could teach Terry Bozio a lesson or two!

Jim Chapin would be proud

I wished I still had that much hair left.
That chinese rocks! What is it?
I love his drumming but those drums didn't sound as good as the kit he plays now.
Pretty good but not very impressed about his chops... kinda normal stuff.
What a lame audience
Sorry Todd.....But this solo is boring:(
