There is just something about how the great drummers love to share their craft. Mr Sucherman is one of the all time great drummers. A wonderful musician, and a kind caring person. I look forward to the opportunity to attend one of his workshops!
I like this guy, he's a good communicator and gives a fine example at the end of each lesson. Good series, thanks for posting.
My new favorite drummer. He is the total package. Chops for days. Grooves as well as he solos Lights out fills. Great communicator and teacher. Makes this old ex-pro ear trained drummer want to take lessons again after 50 years of playing. Todd rocks man!
I am a drummer and drumming instructor. I think that Todd gets 10 thumbs up here!!! He demonstrated everything so well here and without showing off. He is not trying to prove anything here. He doesn't need to. He's already done that in his career. It is fantastic how he uses both traditional and matched grip. I really liked the way he demonstrated here in such a clean, precise, crisp manner. Yayyyy, Todd!!!
Todd is an excellent player and an excellent teacher.
Excellent video. Thanks Pearl and Todd Sucherman. .. Fantastic.
If you look in the lexicon on the term “original badass”, there is a picture of Todd Sucherman there. What an amazing musician…!
The man puts double strokes before paradiddles as if they’re easier! I’ve been working on my double strokes for twenty five years!
Most Excellent Presentation ✝️👍🤙✌️
Beginner lesson? ... more like a master class with this guy!

Outstanding! Making the simple sound complex and making the complex sound simple. You are a true Master of this craft!
I like ! Very very great
Now that was a really good drum lesson. Very important stuff. Very valuable stuff to know. Great lesson, Todd. I love your playing and I am, and always have been, a Styx fan. I am also a Todd Sucherman fan.

0:55 - mesmerizing
Todd, you really are the best!!!
Practice. Makes Perfect. Is throne height important for proper performance?
OMG that last one, the inverted paradiddle, just opened a massive door for me! Huge! Cheers from London Todd, in'it?
all i hear is single double single double single double, and i wanna double pedal it. great tutorial.
Hello Mr. Sucherman, the demo is interesting, i ask you if you can give me informations on the pad for exercises that you hold above the snare drum, it seems to me excellent, sound content and an excellent response to the strokes of the drumsticks, i would like to buy it to continue my study, thanks, a greeting from Italy by Daniele.
With age comes wisdom the views and likes show kids thought this boring but he him self said I know it's boring but invaluable
Woooow 👌
Any music stores in Ohio have the pearl epro live kit I can demo?
Why do they have him playing a kid’s drum set? I won’t lie though it sounds good.
The video is part of a series that was geared towards beginner players and the Roadshow Series was the featured kit... glad you like the sound of it👍
When I try to do paradidle or inverted in the drums at my church sound weird. Idk why... :(
I can do everything....😁😉
Szenzációs !!!
What kind of head is that snare drum?
That is the TruTrac Electronic Drumhead which allowed Todd to perform at a low volume without changing his technique. You can find more information at pearldrum.com/products/kits/electronic-drumsets/tru-trac-drumheads/
Whats up with that drum head? Looks weird!
The batter head is a Tru-Trac Electronic Drumhead on an ePro Live snare drum. Tru-Trac Electronic Drumheads allows drummers to transition from acoustic to electronic drums with absolutely no alteration to their playing style.
Wow, never heard of it.. Sounds exciting!
It's a tru trac drum head from the epro live electronic kit
