      Hi. It's a rac5 but I can't say I've heard anyone mention them for years.
      The SEAT sounds right, I've also seen people call them Half Moon.

    Great video for a newbie like me, nice and simple. I just got the gx21. Your tri tech gun mesh you went through. Is the mesh guide for my GX gun sg3 the same.

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  3 года назад +1

      Yes. The mesh will be based on the same principle and the tip size relates to the colour of mesh for your gun you use.

    Hi what size tip would you use for spraying Dulux oil based undercoat and gloss thanks in advance

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  3 года назад

      Depending on the viscosity of the paint the orifice size I'd use would vary from .10 .11 or .12
      The thinner the small you'd go.
      But personally I wouldn't spray gloss paint.
      Waterbase is so good now and safer too.
      As when cleaning out oil based paints you need to 'ground' your gun against a metal bucket/pale or you get static build up that could catch fire.
      Sometime that water based paints wouldn't do.

    Hey Phill thanks so much for all your great info! Can you just clarify what paints go through the different colour spray gun filters. Cheers buddy.

      Hi. Please like and share... More good comments like that I'm that bit closer to sponsorship from Porsche lol.
      To keep it simple.
      The finer the mesh.. the finer finish paint product you'll be using... And the smaller the orifice size.
      My set would be...
      Small tip... 208, 210, 310.... Anything under .11/12 I use the red gun filter.. fine. Spraying finish top coats.
      Larger orifice, spraying emulsion.
      516/517/518/619 etc
      I use a white mesh filter.
      Does that make sense?
      What do you spray?

    • @ag2664
      @ag2664 3 года назад +1

      @@ProfessionalPainterDecorator thanks dude, that makes perfect sense. I've only just bought a Qtech QT190, It's all I could afford on my budget. I haven't used it yet though. I'm going to spray my stairway, landing and bedroom first, also a couple of big breeze block walls.

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  3 года назад +1

      @@ag2664 that should be ideal. 108 or 110, or 208 210 fine finish tips with fine red mesh gun filter.
      Easy the the paint a little. You don't want it that thin it runs, but not that thick it looks splattered.
      Test on some card, so you don't get tails on the fan pattern.
      Up the pressure, thin the paint or swap tips.
      Trial and error and you'll work it out.
      Also spray a quality paint.
      Tikkurilla Helmi or Everal I use is nice to spray.. also Zinsser AllCoat exterior, still very good on inside woodwork.

    Brilliant video👍 very helpful, any idea why my sprayer is spitting paint as i release the trigger

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  3 года назад +1

      Airless? Strip the tip guard down and remove the rubber seal/metal seat that the tip sits against. Swap it for a new one. See if that helps.
      Also sometimes I find mine does squirt paint out when it's a new tip and seat. I flush some paint through into my slop bucket at various pressures to bed it in before I spray spraying. Try it.
      Also make sure your your trigger hasn't been altered that it's not shutting off.

  • @richardloze5994
    @richardloze5994 3 года назад

    another question again I'm afraid lots to learn. im wondering if there is a video on tip sizes you may use on doors. door linings . skirtings. bannisters. what sizes you recommend gonna be using johnstones aqua guard & undercoat, practices in my garage first though .

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  3 года назад +1

      Ive the newer video about 5 tips on spraying. I show how to do skirting and frames.
      It's practice... 110, 210, 310 are three good tips to have.
      Giving spray fan of 2" 4" and 6".
      It depends how big the woodwork is.
      Doors... You don't want lots of passes with 50/50 overlap that you may put too much Paint on... So a 110 wouldn't be as good as a 310. A 210 you may want to start off with and get a feel for it.
      Once you get the hang of it, you may feel a 211 or 311 tip may be better for thicker woodwork paints.

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator

      When I did mine the stain was thin, so I used a 514
      Best have a few tips that you can swap if you need to go smaller or a bit bigger.
      The bigger, the more product you'll put on.

    Hi Phil, the gun filter colours…are they specifically for the tri tech spray gun.
    For a graco gun that comes with the Gxff spray machine would I need different gun filters?
    Or can I use the tri tech filters in the Greco gun.
    Many thanks Phil for advice.
