The live version of Crazy where he is wearing the red suit, is one of the most captivating performances I have ever seen!

Jonghyun's vocals were great in the MV for "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)," but just wait until you see him perform it live, you will understand what we mean when we say SHINee live is on a whole other level. :D What I love about his live performances is that he even covers the rap parts himself.
LOL, "Harry Potter stairwell"? No, it's meant to remind you of the famous "Relativity" drawing and sculpture, etc. by M.C. Escher. It's a very famous image and is used as a symbolic metaphor in the song. It depicts a world in which the normal laws of gravity do not apply. Or in Jonghyun's case, a "Crazy" world where the normal rules with love are turned on its head, which is why he allows himself to give in to his "Guilty Pleasure."
The spider I interpret as a black widow and it was meant to represent how she is controlling him and driving him crazy. He is stuck in her beautiful web, etc. She is his guilty pleasure.
Like all of Jonghyun's solo songs, "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)" was wrote by him, so the whole vibe of this song was designed by him. And that is why he was so highly respected as a singer/songwriter and why he was one of the first and very few Idols to really be considered a true songwriter and composer. He was a genius when it came to making music and he chose very carefully which songs he wanted to release himself and what kind of message he wanted to give. He never released music just because he thought it would be a hit, but everything he did was meticulously planned and designed by him to make an impact regardless of whether it would be a hit from the the moment it was released. All his music had a deeper message. He was a true artist in all aspects of the music industry.
The Korean version of "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)" was Jonghyun's lead track on his solo debut album Base from 2O15.
You did well Jonghyun, you will forever be the best poet/artist a beautiful spirit that we were privileged to have a chance to get to know.
The featured rapper who is part of Jonghyun's studio version of "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)" is named Iron, who, at the time, was a popular newer artist who became famous as a contestant on the Korean rap completion show called Show Me the Money. So, being featured in Jonghyun's song was sort of his big break in the industry. But Iron got into some serious trouble with the law after first being caught with drugs and was suspended from the industry not long after working on this MV. This is about the only time you will see Iron in anything, and other than releasing his first and only album about a year after this, his legal troubles only got worse and his career ended. He died two years ago.

Taemin gets out of the military on April 4th and the members have confirmed that they'll be having a group comeback either for their 15th anniversary in May or just after it.

Actually, both Key and Minho have new, 2022 albums out called "Gasoline" and "Chase" respectively. The production value alone is crazy on the MVs. However, SM spares no expense when it comes to SHINee MVs. They are both masterpieces.
Jonghyun was a musical genius. Enough said. You can't go wrong with him, or anyone in SHINee for that matter, but JH was just one of a kind.
Taemin's "Impressionable" is a FAVORITE of mine. Taemin's concepts are always so very deep and mindblowing. They always have layers of meanings. The song sounds very sexual, however the lyrics have some unnerving, almost sinister undertones of his constant struggle with the duality of his very existence -- faith vs. world, celebrity vs. non-celebrity, criminal vs. victim, etc -- which ties in beautifully with the entire album concept.
Essentially Taemin is linking the allure of a spider's web to the insect victim -- how sweet the web smells, dripping with nectar, yet once caught you can't escape it's stickiness. Now picture the allure of fame to Taemin's innocence and the temptations that would involve. Then we have Taemin's Christian worldview battling against world influences, and lastly the portrayal of the spider as the seductive criminal and the victim of the fly or insect caught unknowingly in this invisible web that smells so temptingly sweet but is deadly. Yes, Taemin is the spider, but just as in "Criminal", he is also the victim. Yep, you've got his entire album concept all rolled into one song. As an added bonus, we get Taemin using his vocals to actually "play" with the lyrics and music giving it such a creepy yet alluring vibe.

Crazy (Guilty Pleasure) was the first one that I liked from Jonghyun's solo.
The heavy bass and that piano bit hooked me.
I was having fun so I decided to sing along and found out, it was pretty difficult.
Damn Jonghyun and his crazy Vocals!

Like you said Kpop enthusiasts love their songs to be powerful and cool dances and all. That is why eventhough there are many talented solo R&B artists in the industry, their talent will often get overshadowed by idol songs that has more of a performance aspect in their mvs.
But Minho has been pretty vocal about what he likes which is Mid tempo R&B sounds.
He knows his strength is in using his warm deep and emotive vocals.
So Heartbreak was really something like a gift to us shawols who wanted Minho to be able to showcase that. Shawols who know Minho well definitely welcomed this gift. And his name album CHASE released just a month ago.

Okay, well now you gotta see Deja Boo which is on the same album and was written by Jonghyun. In fact, my two favorite Jonghyun performances are both radio performances (on MBCkpop) for She Is (Kim Shin Young's Song of Hope Radio show) and Deja Boo (Tablo's Dreaming Radio). Both of those performances just show his vocal gymnastics. There is no other kpop idol who has as much control over his voice as Jonghyun in my opinion.
We were all so happy when we got Heartbreak from Minho because he doesn't have a lot of solo stuff and it really showcased his voice. Impressionable was not the request I was expecting. It's not my favorite Taemin release but it is enjoyable here and there.

Thank you for reacting to SHINee and their solo work!! Jonghyun's crazy looks very SM because SM pushed hard to have that song for Jonghyun's first solo debut song even though his self-written song on the same album, deja-boo, did so much better. SM then decided to have deja-boo as Jonghyun's double first debut song, and released a live stage version of the song as a mv. Both are very good songs and it speaks a lot of how masterful Jonghyun was as an artist. Heartbreak is definitely my most favorite of Minho's songs, but I highly recommend checking out his solo album Chase. As for Taemin, his music has that dramatic flare that nothing can compare to, very theatrical but almost ethereal in a way. No matter what, SHINee always delivers and their music never disappoints!!

this combination of heartbreak, crazy and impressionable is so good. they're some of my fav songs by shinee soloists. thank you for this! i think you'd really like the rest of jonghyun's solo discography & minho's lowkey r&b solo album

On a sidenote: The last member before Minhos recent solo debut in December was actually Key in August with his album Gasoline. He will be back with his repackage „Killer“ on February 13th and I am excited as hell!
Onew had his last in April with Dice.
Regarding School of Oz: it was an SM produced Hologram Musical including many of their artists singing each others songs in various constellations.
(I still hope they remove those damn adds when they remaster all of those MVs)

If you liked Heartbreak you definitely need to listen to Minho's solo album and react to the title track called CHASE!! It's his first mini-album and all the songs are very consistent with this R&B style, with hints of hip-hop!
Crazy remains my favorite Jonghyun song and he remains my SHINee bias and I believe that will never change! Please react to his other solo works like Deja boo, She is, Shinin' and other bsides 💖
Taemin's Impressionable is not one of my favorite songs of his, however, I believe it is a unique style that he has never performed before! I particularly consider the album Bever Gonna Dance Again a masterpiece and his best full album!
Thx so much for this video!!

Thank you for this awesome video, only missing Onew and Key 💜 As an actor (and time traveler here), I believe he directed this and his other mvs. It's great to see our smooth Minho, the main rapper, singing. Jonghyun is a consummate artist and Crazy is one of my favorites. (In his other work, I love his jazz stylings.) Jonghyun's songwriting and performances are 🔥And Taemin is finally back! I love his experimental nature. I really love how he plays with his voice 💜 and, as we all know, Taemin's performances are awesome. His rap singing is definitely a beautiful thing! Great analysis, as always, thank you! Hopefully, see you over on Beyond Live for Taemin's 2023 fan meeting 💜

If you notice, in the beginning of Minho's "Heartbreak" MV, it shows the date 2021 12 21-- the date that this MV was released -- which means he is in the present, but a few seconds later we see him in 2049 12 21 -- 28 years in the future. I see the car as a time machine and Minho keeps going back and forth in time trying to change the outcome of his life and to try to fix things. However, in the end he realizes that no matter what he does it will always end in heartbreak. So instead of continuing to relive the same pattern over and over again, he convinces himself to burn the car and stop living in the past. Without the car he can no longer travel back in time or see the future, so he is forcing himself to live in the present and except fate as it comes. As the lyrics of the song say, "You're just here for the heartbreak." Therefore, he eventually comes to the conclusion that nothing will change, so why keep reliving the heartbreak over and over again.
Essentially, his future self keeps trying to contact his present self in order to warn him and to try and change what happened.
I also see how this MV might be connected to his previous single "I'm Home," as well as SHINee's MV for their song "Tell Me What to Do," among others. In "I'm Home" he is also stuck in a time loop and he is just going through the motions trying to find a sense of home. In "I'm Home" he keeps having to answer the phone, just like we see him doing in "Heartbreak." He seems to always be confused by the message he hears, or the fact that maybe there is nothing on the line, when he picks up the phone in "I'm Home," so maybe this is connected to the fact that he keeps calling someone or retrieving a message on the phone in "Heartbreak."
In "Tell Me What to Do" we see Minho is in a relationship with a girl and, although it's not his fault, he is causing Taemin to be heartbroken because he was also in love with the girl, and the other members are heartbroken because of the rift it is causing between them as a group of friends. The story in "Tell Me What to Do" has a completely different vibe than anything SHINee has ever done, and it was all about jealousy and division within their friendship, so I think that maybe "Heartbreak" is either an alternate reality or time period where Minho is trying to change the outcome of everything that happened in "Tell Me What to Do," etc. But as we see in "Heartbreak," he realizes that no matter what he does, it still will end in heartbreak, regardless of how the story plays out.
I also have a feeling that eventually we will see connections between the storyline in the "Heartbreak" MV to the rest of SM's SM Culture Universe storyline, and it looks like it might even be connected to Minho's and SHINee's future MVs. As with everything SM Entertainment does, it's usually connected in some way to the storyline that is happening across all of its groups' and artists' MVs and content.
Although Minho is the main rapper of SHINee, it's no surprise that he is also an amazing singer because that's just what SHINee is known for. As you know, SHINee is made up of some of the best singers, dancers and performers in the entire industry, and Minho is no exception. That is why it's said that SHINee has no fixed roles in their group because they all can do it all.
And, even though there is no dancing in the MV, Minho performed this song during his online fan meeting last year -- and he had one special comeback stage performance -- so there is choreography. He has a dance practice video for "Heartbreak." You should check it out if you haven't already. You should also check out Minho's dance practice for SHINee's song "Area" -- a song he wrote -- which he performed as a solo during the fan meeting as well.

Thanks for the reaction. What I appreciate about SHINee (maybe cos they have been at this a while and can pursue their likes). Their releases mostly are for fan appreciation. Not saying volume and hits dont matter. I believe they have found that balance which also allows their SHINee comeback to be events -while the Solo work dives into their independence...(Not sure I am making sense)

But i hope you get to listen to Chase, Minho 1st mini album, and the continuation of Shinees Solo album name plagiarism 🤣🤣.
