Intro Song: Underwater - Kwon Eunbi (Instrumental)
This is the truth. Taemin is King and you are exactly right, he knows how to be sensual and emotional and I lovethat about him.
Heavy and psychological. Taemin is discovering new ways of using his voice. This mv is such an emotional journey.
nods
The emotional journey is so powerful for a hidden reason, take a look at Guilty MV explainer by Agatho and you'd be very very very surprised what lies under
Taemin overwhelmed everyone with this, it gave us something new but it also had the classic Taemin accents on it. Overall it was amazing and it's possibly in my top 15 Taemin tracks (I listen to 60+ Taemin songs total so that's a lot)
I always feel overwhelmed with anything done by taemin but THIS made me cry and keeps making me cry each time i listen. violin brings this melancholic, dramatic, horror-kinda vibe to any song made with it and this song specifically has such an eerie-dramatic-cinematic vibe i just cant comprehend exactly what it is that i feel when I'm listening to it. i feel my whole body being ripped apart, when he started whispering i literally started CRYING like a motherfucker and i didn't even knew why i was crying lmfao i was just so speechless/overwhelmed/shocked with what i was witnessing that my body found in tears its way of expressing what i felt. it's... it's taemin. he always reaches a level that only he himself can do, he overpassed kpop/pop and any genre long time ago, I would say that even with criminal he set a new genre and new standard for himself to be made by only himself, its a song you can almost TOUCH, idk, I can FEEL it ALL OVER THE PLACE but not in a bad way it's just... i can feel it, literally feel it, you can SEE his soul in his work. unmatched god of music, pure artistry, a new genre of art and GOD how blessed I feel to live in a world where i can witness Taemin doing his art.
Я с вами совершенно согласна и подписываюсь под каждым словом .Есть крор,а есть стиль Таемин.Все что он делает
Таеминально!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw many reactors bawling, even surprised by their own tears. Even the most jaded reactors got shook. Most don't know what hit them. So I made an explainer video for that. Taemin wants to be heard, so hear him.
Visceral, yes yes yes that IS THE WORD! You got it! And since your main reaction is visceral, it's okay to be speechless! And I love how genuine you are!
So much respect for Taemin keep serving his music pushing boundaries for all years! THE KING IS BACK! Thank you so much for reacting ❤
VISCERAL is the word !!! I was speechless, motionless while watching this the first time. Literally like he had my throat and heart in his hands ready to crush
Guilty is a masterpiece and instantly shot to the top of the list. I can never move on from this, TAEMIN's a genius
I just got goosebumps throughout, amazing. Love the song, the video. Your face at the end of the first watch I think is what mine was. 😅 Thanks!
Holy fuck, I was SHAKING while watching the mv for the first time, just a whole line of insane tension in my body. Which happens to me maybe thrice? a year when consuming a piece of media. It's not a common experience.
But this gripped me by the throat and I could do nothing but hang on. What a way to come back.
Especially since I only saw teaser images beforehand and therefore expected summer boys frolicking as the concept. Taemin. Just fucking Taemin. Only he could do this.
7:12 that is exactly what I'm talking about!
This song brings up what you said Taemin can get in to tou he is telling you a story emotional it comes in with knives cut it is really well done it triggers emotions profound ones👌🏼
literal goosebumps throughout the whole mv… he is a legend
The whispering in the prechorus(?) gave me full body *chills*
The MV Trailer (not teaser) gives a lot of story context if you're curious to watch it in your own time, it all made much more sense to me after watching that! Visceral is the the perfect way to describe it for sure, thanks for the reaction! Btw he's going to promote a b-side called The Rizzness which he somehow managed to make sound epic rather than cringe-worthy haha
Taemin always shows us his artistry and we certainly can't complain about his return, it shows that even though we think he is good, he comes back and shows that he is even better. This man is crazy
His voice.. with the sound.. it's haunting ..
Thank you for reacting to Taemin's Guilty 💜 What a masterpiece, such art. I love the mesmerizing and sensual choreography, the strings and the waltz, the haunting vocals, the beautiful dancers, the whisper rap, and the musicality of it all is mind blowing in the best way possible.
Phenomenal is definitely the word to describe this whole experience that Guilty is. I'm mesmerized with this comeback. Taemin proved why he is my most beloved and appreciated artist in the entire world.
Taemin can do anything,he is king 👑
Taemin did it again 🔥❤️
Love this more adult and raw type of release from a kpop artist
You nailed it. This was an absolute experience. No one does it like this man!
The King is officially back 👑
Taemin is a religious experience.
The King TAEMIN
Shinee and Taemin is an experience
Taemin in his last incarnation is like a phoenix emerging from the flames
Taemin always brings awesome concepts, he is unique, he is so talented, he is amazing.. there are not words to describe him ❤️
Our King is back and surely he never disappoints
shivers, SHIVERS down my body during the prechorus.... WHY TAEMIN?!
I really urge you ro wtch the trailer for this mv - it helps in understanding this concept!!
This song and mv just made me exploded emotions so great so great
Good way to explain the emotions of the video. A good description of Taemin’s presentation.
you put it so well describing this whole thing! it feels like it reaches for the soul in the most raw way
I was so anxious for you. Lol. ❤It made me cry. You are so spot in with the description.. makes perfect sense.
ACTUAL ART 🤯🤯🤯
Thank you for this relatable reaction I think understand that expression and feeling of not being able to gather your thoughts. It is going to take me a while to process this bit by bit. One thing I can say is this man is a brilliant artist.
We missed him. Guilty shows why!
he is his own genre. can be matched and surpassed only by himself
I had a similar first reaction. It felt almost sacred to watch it. I can’t explain why I get tearful every time I watch.
My favorite parts 10:35~10:50 and 11:18~11:36👏his voice..goosebumps omg taemin..
Hi, i am back. Good rection, ty. Good song. On 1st listen I felt strongly like crying. The tears were held in though the whole song though. But at the end i had to wipe my eyes. I just want to hug Taemin. On my 2nd listen i read the lyrics. And after i wondered was my reaction all in my head. There are layers here upon layers. Loved the fits and makeup. Some of the subject matter was an issue for me. I know Taemin had lots of mental health issues in the military. Based on the teasers I thought he would talk about it. And it looks like he does in his own way. I really want to hear his views on this song and album. I watched Suchwita ep. w. Taemin right after this. Glad he is back giving us headaches, lol. Perfect vocals in my opinion. The feathered headband is a Native American thing for me. I feel it has an important significance. The lyrics had nothing to do with the images in the MV. I think this is way over my head and i will watch some reactions to see what others think of Taemin's msg here. Feels based on imagery. Great choreo. Need the dance practice ASAP. =0p Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
Loved that long skirt. He looked so good, dang.

I'm still confused about the exact meaning, but again, there could be different interpretations as with his other songs. But from the visuals i get the feeling it refers to abuse, it can be at so many levels. It can have psychological and physical or both, you can suffer it under your own family, friends, at school, at work, in love relationships... Then who is the perpetrator? many times you can be trapped by those people, even in a group or the society, you don't even realise but by the time you realise you have been actually abused THEY are gone, who can you blame exactly? I have gone through my own dose of abuse, and after years you realise but you end up blaming yourself too, as if you hadn't known better but then you allowed it...😢 Also the images of classroom and rooms with beds, and a kid surrounded by a group...Taemin is watching him from the door as if he was watching himself as a kid... also at the end those kids in school uniforms, all spread around, one grabbing the legs of an adult that grabs his leg, bleeding... South Korea also has buIIying as endemic.. at schools (kids also teachers committing suicide as they can't either find understanding or help by their surroundings, on the contrary they are treated as the outcast and weirdos) also at the workplace, in the Military, in university... Their social rules, their stratification and obsession with seniority, comparing their ages, wealth, possessions, their marks, everything... the social pressure on kids and in general on everyone to be better, the most xx the most xx...). The crazy mix of their traditional values and the contrast to the monstruos capitalism that devours all traditional values... traditional collectivism versus wild individualism...

this is an amazing comeback, so artsy so taemin, shawols had lots of interesting theories, my favorite being that this is an interpretation of the struggles in military enlistment, young men being taken, examined and given a gun, i find it so fascinating.
P.S. Taemin and Hoshi of SVT already did dance challenge to Guilty. Also, Taemin was on Suchwita ep. 20 with Suga. Hope u watch. Oh my god i hope he does a Studio choom! gah.
If you ever questioned Taemin being a King, now you dont have to.
That last chorus put me in a trance
I love him😢
Dios. Yo siento lo mismo que tu .y mientras más la escuchas más emociones salen a flor. TAEMIN hizo una pieza maravillosa. ARTE .Desde todo punto de vista. ❤
I relate to how you feel lol. I was metaphorically clutching my pearls the whole time I first watched the MV
it touches on important topics that are taboo in some ways.
You can see it from the teaser itself and if you all watch it together, can clearly see what it highlights, some frames can be removed but they are highlighted.
two girls in a dark room, passionate about each other. The fact that this is a figurative psychiatric clinic, the guy is being held the foot of an adult man, that the teenagers are wearing elementary school uniforms, that experiments are being carried out, that the gun is in his hand and that the couples 👩❤️👩,👨❤️👨 are judging ...they put a gun in his hands
It's been almost 2 1/2 YEARS actually. His last comeback was in May 2021
You should watch the trailers to understand whats the music video is about. There is a posibilty that mv was made with the inspritation of the books Lord of the flies by William Golding and Demian by Hermann Hesse. Also the headpiece he wears represents the god Abraxas.
Who else is filling the void of viscerally seductive Catholic guilt bops the way Taemin is. Whomst.
💖🔥💖🔥💖
Your face says it all ;)
This whole comeback made me feel violated and traumatized over things that i've never even experienced.
テミンがキングと呼ばれる所以がここに。
i get it
In a music review interview online, Taemin said that the concept was based upon French philosopher Goerges Bataillle's book, "L'erostisme" in which he argues that eroticism is "a psychological quest not unlike death." Taemin is very into philosophy, just like my daughter who is getting a minor in philosophy at college. When I told her this, she immediately researched the book and now has it and several more on her wishlist...lol. She also LOVED this latest gift from Taemin.
I haven't really dug deeper into this one yet as I'm just enjoying it immensely right now, but somehow I feel like Taemin is giving us a very real picture of how horrendous his military service was in the very beginning, on top of how the medications made him feel (inhaler), and fighting against himself and his demons to stick through it despite how awful it was. Remember, he never said a word about wanting a transfer. The decision was made for him by military personnel for his well being. That says a lot. Telling this story, if what I am just speculating about is true, may be very cathartic for him. However, this is just the first impression that hit me because it also fits in with the duality of his nature that we've seen before.
This song was written during Advice era actually
@HeartsofPearl Correct. It was a contender as a title song for that mini-album. However, Taemin stated during the Suga interview on Suchwita that since "Advice" was chosen instead, during the last couple years he had to rework "Guilty" quite a bit to make it fit in with the concept of this mini-album (discussion beginning @ the 4:46 mark.)
This feels like a part 2 to Criminal. Awesome song. BUT I have to admit the mv is too overwhelming for me.
What the song tell about?
I guess it could be about the mental repercussions of being in the military and living your everyday life as a tool for a fight between governments in which you have no voice, spending all your time and energy learning the most efficient ways to kill people you do not use. nor do I want to hurt (could the phrase "loving you is a crime" be about having empathy and compassion for the "opposite side" in the war) and the loss of childhood and innocence it would cause. We see Taemin looking very anxious while holding the gun at target practice and even taking it out on himself through self-harm (because of guilt??) he (or someone else I can't say) then sets the target on fire at 5 :20, possibly as a rebel?? Throughout the MV there is also a theme of everyone being in uniform or boring clothes, so this is juxtaposed with super expressive outfits like Taemin in a skirt which could be a commentary on how the military steals your self-expression and sense of identity, since you have to wear a uniform, shave your head and follow orders. The first scene is quite indicative of both the loss of childhood (children's photos drawn on the wall) and the loss of self, as Taemin is sitting in a room full of colorful clothes while wearing a very simple outfit. This is just my theory, I have no intention of speaking for Taemin, especially when an anti-military concept would be very controversial and would result in a lot of hate for him. That hurt expression is unforgettable. It's a strong shock and stimulus. Taemin was the first K-pop artist I was exposed to (and became obsessed with) and he became my first prejudice (now ult) for exactly this reason. Always with you, Taemin. 🫰😍
