If anyone's interested in tools like this, please save yourself some money and just get a glass nail file for like $5 on amazon or at a beauty store. You can get nail buffing blocks for dirt cheap at the same places, and the denim square is just as simple.
I found a glass file on amazon that looks uncannily close to the Raser and seems to work just as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Gunprimer just took a OEM nail file and slapped their logo on it.
Yep, the glass files are magic for removing nubs. I dip the file in a glass of water to keep the dust to a minimum and to clean the file if it gets gummed up.
i reverse a strip of painters tape on the roll (sticky side out) and then roll/rock the file on the reversed roll of the tape to get all the dust out of the pores of the file. it works great
one cool thing you could do with the clear machine gun is leave the top of the ammo drum clear and paint the bullets inside of it. when you build a normal version of this kit you'll never see those bullets after assembly. it's a good example of some cool inner detail that you normally only get to see during assembly. also you could panel line the underside of all the clear parts because you can actually see that detail from the outside on this clear kit.
adding clear green 2 town coat would be cool and for the wepons some sort of mechanical interrior look or like a rocket/cannon shell in side too leds could be cool if the green covers it to a degree to distract the wiring. I do like your design choice too
Man, I still have the Gundam Base MG Sinanju clear waiting to be built. I've heard of people using Pledge to make the plastic clearer, have you tried that and had good experiences with that process?
I did that with the Mechanical Clear Hyaku Shiki 2.0, and it worked great. The parts are very glassy and clean. It does make some pegs thicker and holes tighter, so be careful with that. I dipped them, so you might get different results if you use an airbrush.
does anyone have a top coat finish recommendation for clear kits? I just built my first clear kit and am not sure whether to Matte, Gloss or Semi Gloss it. The kit is a GM Sniper II so they are blue clear parts
Cool idea for the painting, I would suggest arranging it so that most if not all of the shield gets painted though, it looks kind of jarring being the only part with no inner frame.
I really like mechanical clear kits so you can show off and paint the inner frame. Sadly the Art of Gundam Unicorn was way too expensive, but the mechanical clear full armor unicorn is pretty much the same except for the blue parts not being clear blue.
I dont know if your aware but many of your videos have resolution problems, many of them being stuck to 360p as the 1080p option is only the yt premium version
@@ZakuAurelius the premium version has a higher bitrate so maybe the video has too high of a bitrate? Other than that it might just be a botched upload
someone on facebook 'accidently' created kit like this, he put his MG Blitz Gundam in cleaner for 1 night, the next day, his gunpla is 100% clear, including the inner frame i think it's few month ago
awesome paint idea. you will have to inverse the masking since there is no base color. that is unless you want the stripes to be clear and most rest of the kit clear. that could look cool too XP
The old zaku machine gun has detail for the bullets in the magazine that would be cool to show off through the clear . . But outside of that I have no clue.
meanwhile there are people customizing their clear kits by turning the inner-frame into human-like internal organs giving it the appearance of it being some kind of living creature (like an Evangelion?) instead of a mechanical robot, lol.
It’s a little expensive but works well especially for stuff like these clear parts. We sell it at USA Gundam Store but it may be sold out at the moment.
That Gunprimer set is still ridiculously overpriced, no matter how well it works. There are enough comments spelling out the really cheap alternatives already so I'll just add to voices saying this is a complete ripoff and I don't understand why there are still people singing it's praises despite the number of modellers that have called them out.
@@ZakuAurelius That wasn't really aimed at you, your review was pretty fair even if you didn't mention the ridiculous price tag. I think there may be something of a disconnect between RUclipsrs that have been sent it for free and people that would actually have to buy it.

When I heard the price for the Raser I immediately went to Amazon and bought a glass file for $7, and it works great. 👍
I personally prefer sandpapers
Me still waiting for Char Zaku MG Origin version.
Yep, the glass files are magic for removing nubs. I dip the file in a glass of water to keep the dust to a minimum and to clean the file if it gets gummed up.
That's a much smarter solution than just scraping the grit out with a toothpick.

Never tried wet sanding with my glass file even though I do wash it to clean it. Thanks for the tip.
Same! Recently started using a cup of water to dip the file in as well. Works perfectly

I was planning on trying that with pledge! I just wonder how much that may yellow over time?
@@ZakuAurelius I coated that Hyaku Shiki about 2 years ago at this point, and it's still crystal clear.

Hey brother did you ever finish this?
Painting the bullets in the machine gun drum mag would look great
I just got the gun primer set too. What do you do about the dust when sanding? Do you wear a mask?
Honestly I don’t find this to create much dust. Actually less than a sanding stick I think
I'm here! I'm here, don't start with out me!!!!!!!!!!!
Physical representation when a girl tells you: "I can see through you"
Makes me think of stealth-camouflage Zaku or Char figure hehe ( MGS ref )

I’m thinking about scratch building something to go inside the frame

Did you finish this one Zak ?!
Nah it’s on hold
Old kit but have you considered reviewing the hg ewac zack?
Yep I have one in my backlog

Why are the weapons clear though?

is it still char's zaku if it's not red?
Lol, there are a couple things that only come with Char's zaku, but no I don't think it is
This is the Char custom version of the kit cause it comes with the char pilot figure and the Lift
Did he ever do anything with this?
Not yet, he didn’t
more like zaku clearelius amirite
Well painting this wouldn't need much prep being transparent.
There’s the zudah in the background! It’s always some where’s Waldo action trying to find it in the background every time
awesome!
Woohoo...high price kit to get
What makes this a Char kit lol is it not just the fact that Char has a pink/pink commander type?
And the Char pilot figure
@@ZakuAurelius ahhh ok cool it comes with a char pilot that's makes sense then
