    Círculo is a Brazilian brand and I can usually find their kits here for 20-45 BRL, which would be like 3.60-8.25 USD at the current exchange rate. 20 USD sounds really crazy... I think their patterns are pretty confusing in their native Brazilian Portuguese as well.
    Also, Clover does make 2.5mm hooks! I got a set of 8 from one of my friends who bought it in Japan and it came with 2.0mm, 2.3mm and 2.5mm hooks.

    as a brazilian it's so refreshing to see my favorite content creators testing products I have easy access for! circulo is an amazing brand, I'd say their amigurumi yarn is my go to almost every time. I still find their kits kinda underwhelming* though 😂 with this yarn I always use a 3.5mm hook

      @Tfwcrochet oh yeah, you probably would! I've never used the kits, just the regular size donuts. their color selection is fantastic here in Brazil, I think there are more than 100 different colors to choose from. they also have different sizes and components, there's a thinner one (amigurumi slim), a softer one (amigurumi soft) and a chenile like one (amigurumi pelúcia). they used to have a thicker one called amigurumi maxi, but it's been discontinued. hope you can try more from the brand, I'm sure you're going to like it

    Working on a shawl to wear to my sisters wedding. I think a kit works for intermediate and advanced crocheters - for instance, I almost never do amigurumi. I’ve made doilies, blankets, shawls, cardigans, etc, but not amigurumi. I recently was gifted a gift card to Woobles and purchased a couple of their intermediate kits. It was fun, the instructions had some of the same issues that you mentioned in this review - shortening repeats and not calling it out specifically - even tho the pattern was online, so it wasn’t a printing cost saver. However, I never would have ventured into amigurumi without a kit and I’ve been crocheting for over 30 years.

    As for the material con unless I misinterpreted what you said you had switched to a clover hook that was larger even just that .25 would still be 10% larger then the hook it gave you. Might not seem like a lot but with kits like this thats a large flaw that you dont have a lot of leeway with changes to the materials. On the topic of intermediate kits i think they tend to be more intermediate/advanced Beginner. These kits dont seem all that hard for someone who’s crocheted amis before but its fair to say “hey dont make this as your first ever crochet plushie” theyre also seemingly a little more low waste as you are getting just what you need and arnt forced to buy a whole skein of yarn that youll only use a few feet of.

    • @Tfwcrochet
      @Tfwcrochet  8 дней назад

      @@cinnamon2559 I see your point. I tink there should be a bit more leeway though. Especially since I yarn under and crochet pretty tight. People crochet with all different tensions. So it’d be better to me if they provided you with just a little more instead of almost not enough
