This kinda was a full circle moment for me too. I made my first crochet sweater a year ago because of you. And now I recently finished my first knit sweater too and I'm crocheting a sweater watching this video and all because your enthousiasme for making your own sweaters. And YOU WERE RIGHT
I have been crocheting since COVID. I had learned the chain with mom when I was like 10-12. Then I totally forgot about it. I’m now 66 and want to be crocheting every day. My problem is that besides hats scarves and blankets I can ONLY crochet with a follow along tutorial. I would love to make a sweater so please, please send any tutorials my way ❤ I am loving the new colors and textures you showed and loved most of them. Thanks again for your channel 😊
I was so intimidated by written patterns and only followed videos but quickly realized that it really limited what I could make. So what I did was find patterns that had a video tutorial AND a written pattern so I could follow the video but also be able to cross reference the written pattern and compare it each step which helped me more understand exactly wh I was so intimidated by written patterns and only followed videos but quickly realized that it really limited what I could make. Thank you for the short row tutorial! I actually have a phobia of things near my collarbone (a weird one, I know) so having something that gets the collar just a bit away from my throat is perfect :)
so glad I could help! many designers add short rows either at the start of the collar, or just before splitting for the sleeves (like I did). look out for that in your next top-down sweaters 🙂

I like that tip about the short rows. I made a raglan a few months ago and had to frog it a bunch of times while adjusting it to fit correctly and some of short rows would have made it so much better. I will definitely use it on the next one I'll be working on... Have lots more yarn to work through before the end of the year 😅😂

I’m so happy you finished your sweater! That color really is fabulous! I’ve noticed that I actually knit/crochet faster during the more intense, exciting parts of a movie and slow down after 🤣🤣 I just have to be careful of my tension lol.
I'm making my 1st sweater right now! I'm hoping it turns out because I love sweaters and would love to make my own in between other projects. Right now I'm just using a yarn from my stash that I happen to have a lot of since I was using it for a couple of baby blankets.

I love these colors, especially all the deep jewel tones. I've been doing my best to stash bust, but this may break my multi-month streak... Appropriate given that the last yarn I bought was the Happy Place restock in January!
