she's from (g)i-dle, and very well known for her unique voice in kpop ,she's chinese and besides gidle's popularity globally she's individually very popular in both china and korea, she worked her ass off for it.. she released this in china back in 2021 that's why it's all in english for both the korean n chinese audience..
Yes that voice is pristine!! Seems like she is saying we have each other and we don't give a f about what people say. Though the world sees us as outsiders (Bonnie & Clyde) we survive and lift each other up no matter what. Not exactly sure how that fits with the mv but I like it. And yes I do know how to play chess.
Kevin Bacon? Not until you said it. But I mean, Western Pop music from the 1980's... I must disagree with you on at least one point; I think she already had the diamonds and the idiot in the beginning is just some stranger who bumped into her by surprise/ accident and caused her to drop the bag in the first place. The robbery already made the local news and the story was being broadcast before she ever walked up to the group of people who were gawking at the TVs. She must have stolen them because she already knew where she was taking them. When she picked them up off the ground, she walked directly to her already-chosen, pre-determined destination. "...nobody actually knows how to play Chess..." Um...wrong again. That game has been around for MILLENIA now. There is an entire industry built around it just like there is an entire industry built around the various Poker Championships. There are many versions of Chess just like there are many versions of Checkers. Pretty sure it is the fantasy of a fractured mind. Remember near the beginning of the MV, the Finger-Guns aimed at the mirror, and the mirror breaks when she 'shot' it? (The mirror broke on cue for the music beat but that is besides the point). Later in the MV as she is about to leave the apartment, she actually notices that the mirror is still in one piece. She's gone crazy, losing her mind; the entire MV could possibly be showing a case of 'Split Personality' (or as the Medical field now officially calls the condition, 'dissociative identity disorder').
She's one of my favorite female IDOL singers. Her tone is just gorgeous
