The mv is about an abusive relationship. When Minnie shoots the guy, it's like she avenges everyone who went through this. In the end, they are not together, but they are metaphorically together.
IM HYPED you reacted to g-idle! they have such amazing music and literally EVERY single thing in the book. every album is SO vastly different
All of their MVs are iconic and artistic, but the most creative ones imo are "Oh my God", "Tomboy" and "Nxde".
Their song "oh my god" has a great storyline too, and the music video has a lot of metaphors and symbolism in it.

The M/V, it looks like she (Minnie )has a daydream after read the red book 'c'est la vie'. This video shows all women needed the deepest love but they found violence situation instead then each of them tried to escape this situation in different ways. So the head shot is not real, Minnie just erase him in her mind. (They are the same person in different personality, they wear the white outfit in intro and outro and the red book too).
But some theory is about surviving domestic abuse. It's suggested the guy was in a toxic relationship with all of the girls. Only Minnie (Bride) survived the guy. The others are all trapped in their place of death. (Miyeon drowned and spirits wandered around the pond, Soyeon was strangled in the wall of the room, Yuqi was stuck falling down the stairs, Shuhua died in the car.)
The white flower is the symbolic the use in Korean funeral and the colour flowers is symbolic to the graveyard🪦in Korean)
Their spirits frees when Minnie shot him died. 😅 She may have been possessed by the four dead women to seek revenge.
They’re amazing! This album is a little different since the members didn’t write or produce any of the songs. And it’s all in English. Lion is great, as is Oh My God and Hwaa is one of my favorites
This is a really good breakdown. A lot of people theorize that he killed the other 4 girls, but I don't actually think that's fully true. I think only 2 of them are dead, we see the one drown(Miyeon), we see the one that was in a car accident(Shuhua), but the other 2 leave. We see Yuqi walk away with the stairs then later burn her memories, and we see Soyeon daydreaming about him when he taps her head but she's actually alone. I feel like it's an expression that even if abuse doesn't kill you it can still be carried with you and while they're not dead the ghosts of their trauma are still there haunting them. I think this distinction is further expressed at the end just before the main girl(Minnie) wakes up, we see the 4 girls looking refreshed and happy, kind of free and lighthearted, and we see Miyeon and Shuhua together, the dead ones, and Yuqi and Soyeon together, the living but traumatized ones.
I also like that the song wasn't written by them and is definitely characteristic of a certain romanticization of toxic love styles and materialism in current American pop songs, but when they went back to Korea to make the music video they decided to make a video that takes the core concept of the song and oppose it, showing examples of how those kinds of relationships damage you. They couldn't fully control the direction of the song and needed to play into popular trends for the English debut, but they could take the idea, write a potent counter narrative that could fit in with the beats and give a counter message!
I'm sure many music videos exist that do this but the only other example I can think of of this is Koi Geba by the J-pop group Atarashii Gakko. Where due to the nature of the style of music they made they wrote a song of a young girl on the cusp of adulthood experiencing those emotions and falling in love with her teacher, but in the music video they show how toxic that relationship would be in practice.
I love both those songs and groups and I think that idea is really cool!
But maybe I'm just reading too much into everything -shrug-
Also realistically Miyeon commits suicide and drowns herself she's alone the whole time, she puts flower petals in the water to make it beautiful. He doesn't need to be a murderer to be a monster. The things he does are damaging and ruin lives. (Though he definitely murdered Shuhua)
I would like to see you react to "Allergy" and "Queencard" ( there a connection between them ) its self made producing by soyeon the leader of the groupe 😊
from their latest album 'I feel' their 2 mv's follow on from each other to create a story. you should watch 'allergy' first and then 'queencard'. they're really good!

I Want That isn't bad. I like it. ...but compared to the rest of their discography it's about a 4 out of 10.
Senorita and Dumdi Dumdi are fun songs I think you'd really like. Hwaa and Hann (Alone) are musical masterpieces. Oh My God and Lion are absolutely killer in every way!

You almost got everything right. As I saw, the four girls are dead, they were killed by the man that the main character girl was gonna marry, and she took revenge for all of them. that's why she ends up alone.
my other favourite gidle mv's are 'oh my god', 'tomboy' and 'queen card'. you should give them a watch!
I would go for the revenge theory, you see one drowned, one in car full of funeral flowers etc, only reason I disagree with dream theory is she has blood on her dress in the end, I think he killed the other 4

Concept, music, lyrics, and production by 88 RISING. This is off their new album, HEAT, and their first venture into all English tracks. Usually gidle self-produces, in addition to writing, arranging and developing concepts. They are in my top 3 kpop girl groups. Soyeon, the leader, is brilliant. Her imagination and creativity are off the hook. She always develops interesting and unique store lines and then delivers them in such an artful stage.

I took it as all the Girls are the same Person but different personality aspects. You see Minnie there at all the Love spots. You see Yuqi being quiet and abused as he rages.. You see the others being more vocal and arguing back.. You see them all holding the gun as She is just fed up with being abused and wont' take it anymore.
This could mean so many things-maybe it's up to the listener to relate to what it says to them. C'est la vie is such is life and maybe she is dreaming of an adventurous kind of love and it's possibility of going sideways because c'est la vie. Very interesting MV

at first when I watched the MV I also though each girl represents different personality or so, but after reading comments about this music video, looks like it was just 5 realtionships, 4 other girls are dead and Minnie at the end is the only one who survived and killed the guy, great reaction and talk, thanks

You have to react to their other Songs! They’re incredible and different. „I Want THat“ ist good but their other Songs like „oh my god“ and „lion“ are on a different level. „Nude“, „Tomboy“ and „Hwaa“ are also amazing.

Just got to the point where you finished watching the video and started trying to figure out the meaning behind it and I have to say I like this style of reaction.
Personally I subscribe to the theory of him being abusive to the point where he eventually kills the other girls and the 5th girl ends up finding out about his past and ends up killing him.
More (G)I-dle, superb artists. Earlier work is classic, Lion, Oh My God m/v's plus others. Hwaa and Hann m/v's are related. Soyeon, leader, tremendous talent. See Soojin's, former members, work too.
g-idol's got a very strong, I don't know how to say, mood? There are some repeating themes generally around female empowerment, but musically they're pretty broad. In terms of videos with a lot going on for you to dig into, I'd suggest "oh my god" or "hwaa". Musically I don't think you can really go wrong with any pick, but some of the videos are much more straightforward (which is fine, just a different experience).

Story wise all of them were in relationships and sbused. Whether physical, mental or emotional and theygot out by leaving or in one case "ending the guy".
Some of the girls were part of a dream inspired by the book but the blood on her foot in the beginning suggest a different story for the one girl who was left at the alter.
