“WHOAH WHAT THE FUCK?” That was my exact reaction as well. I kind of interpreted it as a story of Minnie serving the justice that the other girls deserved. I feel like Miyeon is the one character who might have actually died in the story whereas the other members are victims of a clear abusive relationship.
Miyeon tears the vocals up on this entire album. "Eyes Roll" is an absolute banger. My fave on the album and written by Meghan Trainor (and her brother).
A lot of people say the likely meaning behind the music video is that Yuqi, Shuhua, Soyeon, and Miyeon are all ghosts that were killed by the man (or he led them to their death, like seemingly with Miyeon). While Minnie is walking down the aisle, she suddenly feels the memory of the girls and takes it upon herself to get revenge for all of them who suffered at his hands. Others think that each girl was a different aspect of Minnie which died along the way, but she managed to reclaim herself after killing him and find some peace. I'm sure there are more theories, but I think these are the major two!
I had a very similar reaction to it: wait wtf is going on?.. holy crap this beat!.. Yuqi with the sick camera tilts... she did not just do that!.. 11/10. One of my favorite songs this year and probably my most replayed MV. I really hope this becomes a staple in their concert setlist and I get to see it live one day.
Ryan Tedder has lead Producer and Writer, and Composer for TXT Back for More as well 😅 The legend comes to kpop and write the most addicting tracks. Just like good ol' One Republic Days
I think one main reason it doesn't sound like an idle song (besides the production) is honestly the fact that Minnie's voice isn't as central to the song as most of their other ones, and Miyeon is now actually singing as the main vocal (which quite honestly, she usually doesn't). Soyeon typically uses Minnie's voice as the main vocal because her voice has that edgy and alien feeling that Soyeon usually goes for, but here, the pre-chorus that Miyeon sings is the most "in-the-face" part of the song so to me it didn't feel like as much of a "Soyeon-produced-title-track". Though I am really happy they went in that direction.
Preliminarily, it seems to me that the Heat album in general lacks some degree of Soyeon's comprehensive control of message. I would assume because she is not all that comfortable in english. With respect to this specific video, the theory is that all of the characters, other than Minnie's, are victims of the same serial abuser/murderer. (Consider, for example, all of the flower imagery associated with each of them.) Thus, when they are shown, apart from in flashbacks actually interacting with their abuser, they are in fact ghosts. They find Minnie and help her avoid the same fate; she helps them resolve their grudges by killing their murderer. That's why, at the end, the others are shown on the boat with Minnie looking, for the first time, calm and content, then they disappear because, their grudges having been satisfied, they are finally able to 'move on.' It's a very common kdrama fantasy theme. See, for example, Hotel Del Luna!
Miyeon had some schedule conflict for the mv filming, that's why we see her so less in the mv, even the scenes she does have its always solo shots she couldn't even film with the male lead of the mv, all her shots were filmed prior to others iirc
pd! soojin, ex member of idle, just made her solo debut! please watch! also, pixy has had a few comebacks you missed :) love u and thank u for coming back!!!! i missed your content so much!
I Want That is really different than I would expect that to be. But although it is different from their Korean discography, I don't see any problem that their US focused music would have a different sound. Although I have to say I would appreciate them to get involved in the future. Even if their "task" would be to stick to this kind of stuff (at least for the title tracks), I think they could handle it and include in it their ideas and hidden messages. The only thing that was bothering me was the visual design of the MVs. I actually didn't know it at first, because my knowledge regarding this is not at all on the level as yours, but after you mentioned it, I totally agree, I would like Cube to take care of their MVs for US focused releases as well. I do hope any promotions around this will be handled on the best level possible. Their current growth and momentum is really big and it can get even bigger (they have the potential to be like huge huge!), so I hope this US focused comeback/debut is handled perfectly and it will help them to grow even more.
I like the idea of all the girls representing Minnie, because we mostly see Minnie in the more "happy scenes". In the elevator, the wedding. The other girls are maybe almost, very loosely, "personalities" of the different ab**e she has went through. That's why she is the one to fire the shot and in the end alone on the boat. She is the only "real" person in that world. Idk
I'm seeing them on the Jingle Ball tour in about 12 days & I REALLY hope this makes their setlist. 🤞 I admit I'm mostly going for NCT Dream, but (G)-Idle is one of the few female groups I always check out, at least the title tracks, so I am excited to see them, too. Might come back to update you on the performance if they do include it. 😉
I still think 'I DO' is the song of the album, as it still feels the most like an actual (G)I-DLE song, but it seems a lot of people like 'I WANT THAT'. To me it's a bit similar to 'LAST DANCE' which I didn't really like....like at all. So on a personal taste this was a song that I don't vibe with.

I think shuhua died too. Car accident
They’re all the same character! They’re all Minnie they just represent different stages of her abuse
The closeup of Minnie right before she shoots him is my favorite shot in the whole MV. She said so much with no words, put her in girl from nowhere!
DAWG STOP PLAYING I NEEEEEED MINNIE AS NANNO
Heck yeah! I love her so much! 😭💖
@ot7biasedmashups that would be awesome😮

Her vocals kill me every time! ❤🤌🏻
Miyeon lady gaga vocal mode is to die for
Saw gidle live and y’all they are PERFORMERS and I love every song they’ve released

They are, hands down, the sexiest and most talented girl group in K-Pop. And it's not close.

Miyeons Voice is amazing. I don't like this song so much but Miyeons pre chorus is fire. And I like the MV. The acting is great.

The high note Is Minnie's voice, so I think Minnie sing a lot here too
