One could spend an entire career analyzing the videos of Red Velvet. The lyrics, the images, the costumes, the themes, and so on. They never fail to raise the bar and then surpass it.
I truly think no one else is doing it like them, the details and aesthetic and cohesion of their songs and image is sooooo incredible. They have some of the best MVs and styling in the industry. When they release a song it feels like they are releasing an era instead of just a song, the whole thing is always so well done.

This entire album promotion was good enough I guess but I can't lie the album rollout that we got from the teaser and instagram thing was cathartic. They really dwelve deep into this lore and gave the song a meaning as a whole (shoutout to Joy, our trusted album spokeperson). RV does what they always do best, gave us album with a THEME! This is my most favorite Red Velvet's MV ever So sad, yet so warm and inspiring while being on reality. It's like someone telling you that you're so precious even you committed something wrong, even with a huge flaw, but let's face reality, even you're wrong I still got your back we'll get pass through this. This song is such an earworm, the video is so good and also the answer to 'what if you could film trauma bonding but make it visually compelling and oddly not heavy,' and I was jazzed to see this reaction waiting in my queue even though I somehow missed it when it dropped. I'm going to have to watch their other videos to see what other things happen when all of them are holed up in a house. I guess getting rid of an abuser in the house in this video is not nearly as sinister as luring pizza boys to their death like in Peek-A-Boo. :)
After about the 3rd listen, and more importantly, understanding what the video represents, I get emotional every time I hear this song now. I want this played at my funeral.

Yeah I think most K-pop fans want more simple and catchy songs and tend to ignore songs like chill kill that are musically more experimental and interesting. Also I feel like most people are to lazy to actually try and interpret the meaning of the song and mv. I think it’s genuinely one of the most interesting and artistic releases I have seen in a while. I am so proud of red velvet for doing music for the arts not the charts, they aren’t afraid of experimenting

Yup, it was their abusive father locking them up on basement, Wendy unwillingly committed murder to end the nightmare (or terror) they have been experiencing, and the rest of plot really thickens lol until they ultimately committed arson to erase the evidence, but they eventually got caught.

In 2018, I was frustrated with my job and i started studying to become a video editor, and I found your channel out of nowhere. I had never even listened to a K-pop song entirely, and that day I watched at least 5 videos from you reacting to iKON and Stray Kids. So yeah, I'm not an expert in K-pop, I'm not an expert in how people can influence others on the internet, but in my opinion, you are a great way to introduce people to and make them like K-pop. (and btw, english is not a language that im fluent, so sorry for how bad it is xdd)
chill kill was an EXPERIENCE! it's one of the rare instances where the mv not only compliments, but elevates the song! while there were definitely a lot of good releases this year, something i havd noticed in recent kpop is that a lot of times, the mv has nothing to do with the teasers. the teasers promise something and the mv and song delivers something else. it has disappointed me quite a bit with some other comebacks, but red velvet actually kept their promise and gave us an mv that relates closely to the teasers. this might be my favourite red velvet song yet, everything about it is just the perfect mix of horror, tragedy and a strange wholesomeness.
Again, this is a song that needs several listenings in order to really get it and enjoy it. Except for the bridge, that I fell in love with the very first time I heard it ❤ Anyway, I just love this song so much now, and even more and more ! This reminds me of something i heard a few years ago. Basically someone kidnapped 3 girls and locked them in his house for years. When they got out they said they sometimes danced with each other and had pillow fights, and that these moments were the few times where they were able to forget all the abuse and pain, and just be kids again (i dont think they killed him though). This MV hits hard!! It instantly became one of my absolute favorites.

Four solo videos and two group videos. The order - Natty, Belle, Julie, Hanuel, Bye My Neverland and Shh. The videos are cinematic and the music is wonderful. Hope you get to know them.
I've heard that the whole music video is backwards, they got caught by the police for setting the house on fire after killing the abusive father(?), then during the start of the vid until the bridge, its just them each other trying to cover up the assasination. In the music teaser you can hear the song if you played it backwards.
I also think the two different outfits and backgrounds they dance in front of are two different points in time. In the basement, they are smiling and dancing together before the murder, celebrating Yeri's birthday. That's the video that Yeri is later watching on the TV. And then later, the video of them dancing but not smiling in front of the chair is a different time, mimicking how they were made to dance for the patriarch. I think that happens after the murder?
