This was a playful, sarcastic comment on the expectations of being a wife in Korea. The lyrics, which got this song banned in Korea, describe all those expectaions in very nuanced fashion. The colors are the chromatic reverse of their usual red and black. And yes, it was designed specifically to attract the TikTok crowd, as the song and MV were the pre-release for their laest albyum "2", and intended to build attention to the album. It succeeded spectacularly. =) All hail Queen Soyeon.

The girls themselves also pronounce it with the ‘G’. Perhaps in their debut days they didn’t but with many fans using the ‘G’ they do now also.
You can hear them saying their group name in a few songs…one being ‘Flip It’ which was only released last year..

The whole production is actually amazing. It looks simple but amazingly cool. And the song slaps. Everyone raps. It even got ban on KBS becus of the lyrics being innuendo. But who cares? 😂
Funny you should say that Miyeon looks like she's emulating that NPC thing -- she's provides the voice (along with Soyeon) for a video game character in the "virtual group" called "KDA." That's a promo thing for League Of Legends, not really a group, but Riot Games has a lot of music video promoting it that are surprisginly good. TBH, I wish there was more KDA stuff. SY's rapping in the song "More" (from KDA) is really amazing.
It is supposed to be pronounced just Idle but after time, especially with fans saying the G, the girls in the group themselves started calling themselves that, especially during their last album where the songs were produced by American producers and every song is in English

I used to think the npc tiktok thing was weird, but honestly its just like a street performer doing a moving statue or mime type of routine.
As another poster said, this song is pretty solidly about the view of some men in korea have about what a wife should be. It is chock full of innuendo/slang of a very dirty kind, juxtaposed with the clothing/dance/sound be very cute/innocent. A minor detail feeding into this is how they're not lip syncing until you get to the last lines about not wanting to be a wife, which is a pretty clever video trick to me.

i've always said G-Idol but ik back in the day alot just called them Idol/idle. They are such a unique Kpop group as they have a huge say in production, styling and So-yeon writes / produces alot of the music, also they often have full English versions of their songs.

正式名称は(G) I-DLEとなります。
呼び方は、「ジー・アイドゥル（韓国での呼び方は、ヨジャ・アイドゥル）」で、意味は「wiki」を見たら理解出来ると思います。
I-DLE（アイドゥル）と、idol（アイドル）は、呼び方が違う、意味も違う全く関係ない別物となります。
事務所側が（G）を付けたのは、韓国では「女の子」の事を「ヨジャ」と呼ぶので「girls group」の（G）を付けただけで、グループ名での意味はないです。
しかし、本人達は「通称アイドル（idol）ではなく、アーティスト（ソヨンPDが活動方針を始め全ての決定権を持ち、全ての事を自分達でやっているから）」としての意識があるので、22年にソヨンが全権限を持つ統括プロデューサーとなり事務所内に独立部署を作った時に「もう（G）は必要ない」って事で、韓国内では挨拶時も含め自分達の事を「I-DLE」と呼ぶようになりました。
「TOMBOY」のMVで最後に（G）に✖（赤色）を書いたのはそういう意味です。
韓国以外の海外では無理に呼び方を変更しないで「（G）I-DLE（挨拶も）」のままにしていますので、どっちで読んでもOKです。
韓国でも今でも「ヨジャ・アイドゥル」と呼ぶ人はいます。
グループのロゴはデビュー時から（G）は無いです。

the remix with JLo, Soyeon says "G-IDLE"; the G was because Cube wanted to call the group "Girls" something, and the girls didnt so the negotiated to silent G, still in SK the media calls them Girls IDLE
that was at the beginning but not anymore they now call them idle when they announce them for an award or in variety shows becoz in korea they always introduce themselves as " i~~ annyeonghaseyo idle imnida" but in english they introduce themselves differently i think becoz it wouldn't rhyme in the usual one if they translated it to english coz it would be "I~~ hello we are idle" so they say " hello we aare g~ idle" ....... (~)--> this means to stretch the word or make the letters longer btw..
