So, from personal experience, you can air fry the second fried chicken but you add the corn and potato starch into the marinade with the chicken and add some oils just like the other one. They turn out fantastic.
Also I haven't done this in a while so why not. 5:50, ChefPK: "Put it where Gandalf cannot get them" Gandalf: "Foolish hooman. You think a mere countertop height will stop me? I am Gandalf of the Grey. Son of the Chromatics. Conqueror of the fridge top and kitchen shelves. I could get those delightful smelling spherical morsels anytime I wanted. I am merely satiated today from those hard crunchy delights you call, "kibbles". Consider yourself lucky today hooman. But never forget who I am"
Now I wonder how to combine American style fried chicken from the Deep South with Japanese karaage..... Both are the best fried chicken I had ever had.
Sous chef looks like he needs a raise or a vacation. But what a pro. Also, Gandalf just cracks me up. PK: "Don't eat the flour, your poops are gonna be like pojectiles!" Gandalf: "Fine, I'll go raid the trashcan, then..."
I definitely love both breast and thigh meat for fried chicken. And I generally like mine spicy so I use stuff like cayenne pepper in the flour coating. And panko bread crumbs for the final coating. They are good hot or even as cold leftovers if you get them crunchy enough and well drained after frying. The chicken thighs come out sooooo juicy.
Theres a dish from a german place i love thats a breaded meatball and spatzel. Now i kinda want to make a riff on it with the karaage-kun and spatzel with your garlic butter and Tsuyu mix
can you explain the oil in the bread crumb comment? regarding air fryer. ive seen where you spray the bread crumb or the air fryer surface but never heard of in the bread crumb? genuinely curious
Air fryer! What time and temp would I use? A friend got me an air fryer last Christmas and i barley use it because instructions that come with foods don’t often have air frying instructions and I’m nervous about guessing what time and temps I should use.
I adjusted a few of the things after the video :) I don't usually test my recipes before filming, then adjust them after. It's a terrible habit haha. But for Air Fryer, 400F for about 12-14 minutes turning them over half way.
Why is the Su Chef Hunky as heck , i mean don't get me wrong @CHEFFPK your good looking but the su chef is totally my type lol. Love your content man keep the good vibes. If people cant tell between the su chef and CHEFPK , the Su Chef been lifting i can tell the gains gotta love them arms
So the first one less less like traditional karaage and more like chicken croquets xD The second one is traditional karaage but whole chicken instead of pieces. Also, the ultimate karaage is the traditional one. Chicken thigh cubes marinated in soy sauce, mirin, spices if you want, sugar or sweetener of your choice, coated in potato starch and deep fried :)
I do 😍 your vids so much, but ..... today (saturday by all means, ) i made 16 hours and am not capable to watch, so whatever is made im sure to make tomorro✌️
Another amazing video chefpk I'm a huge fan and supporter btw you never disappoint us with your videos thanks for your hard work and cool videos hoping you see my comment here 😊
hey, I haven’t seen your channel in a long time. I was wondering if you could do a anime character diet for a week and do maybe a workout to see the results in the end.

0:33 So u have a clone now. Nice.
This would be awesome to have Rachel as your sous chef

We have the same pfp and I've never seen anyone else use it so I thought I commented on this video and forgot about it.
we all know that the su chef is the doppleganger of chef that chef put in his basement
He would only be so lucky to have his own basement, the lazy #?! $&
He's actually has the su chef living in a cupboard under the stairs.
@@CHEFPKR I don't think you're yelling enough at him. I still see hope in his eyes.
Sous chef.... being misspelled by almost everyone
putting little cheese cubes in middle of those chicken balls will surely make great juicy cheesy chicken balls
Honestly, had a little panic in my heart as Gandalf got close to the "hot oil splash zone". Otherwise, great stuff. Hope you have a great day.
THIS^
I love that your sous chef is a "Silent Bob" type! ;)
I love karaage, going to have to try both recipes.
6:24 little kitty likes the chicken
You really had me going at the beginning Chef. I was like, "you got a new sous chef? Wow"
Also I haven't done this in a while so why not.

Not a new one; he just finally brought the old one back from the old studio.
I love fried chicken and I'm borderline addicted to Famichiki. What do they put in there 😂
Jess and steve from flying the nest featured on klook one of my other travel youtubers i watch
Now I wonder how to combine American style fried chicken from the Deep South with Japanese karaage..... Both are the best fried chicken I had ever had.

Just made the karaage-kun for dinner after watching this. Was so good.
When does the book ship? Stoked for new tries!

Those looked so good!! Now I‘ve just got one simple question: what‘s up with the clamp on your cupboard?
It's to keep Gandalf out...
Sous chef should get a raise!
One day I'll finally learn Japanese and go to Japan so I can finally try all this stuff
Great video, I will try your recipes. You have to make a video about cooking seitan, monks eat seitan.
That looks so good. I think I will try the chicken balls in the airfryer.
What do I search on Amazon to find those little zigzaggy cooling racks?
the cat is just staring at the food bro really wants some 😭
If I want to cook the ground chicken karage in the air fryer, how long do they go and at what temperature?
I found his answer in the comments! 400° for 12 minutes ish.
@@halabaloux Thanks
It looks really good, I'll try it tomorrow
Su chef.. ???where is Gandolf..😊😊😊😊
can you explain the oil in the bread crumb comment? regarding air fryer. ive seen where you spray the bread crumb or the air fryer surface but never heard of in the bread crumb? genuinely curious
I basically rub a little oil on my hands then roll the chicken balls in that oil. Spray works well too
only ChefPK can be his own souschef
Spicy Honey Mustard, round 2
@chefpkr is there anyway to make these using an electric stove or oven?
Yea! Bake then at 375F until golden brown and the internal temp is 160F
Air fryer! What time and temp would I use?
A friend got me an air fryer last Christmas and i barley use it because instructions that come with foods don’t often have air frying instructions and I’m nervous about guessing what time and temps I should use.
Also why is the written instructions for the karaage kun different then what you have in the video? 😅
I adjusted a few of the things after the video :) I don't usually test my recipes before filming, then adjust them after. It's a terrible habit haha.
But for Air Fryer, 400F for about 12-14 minutes turning them over half way.
He a chef and is his own Soup chef
CHEFPK knows Shadow Clone Jutsu confirmed ☑️
how long and at what temperature in the airfryer??
I found his answer in the comments! 400° for 12 minutes ish.
Happy air frying

Would love to met the Sous chef someday!
Sous chef always throws me off til i remember its just a shadow clone xD
I had French Onion Karaage-kun in 2019. It tasted like they soaked the chicken in French Onion soup before frying.
So the first one less less like traditional karaage and more like chicken croquets xD
The second one is traditional karaage but whole chicken instead of pieces.
Also, the ultimate karaage is the traditional one. Chicken thigh cubes marinated in soy sauce, mirin, spices if you want, sugar or sweetener of your choice, coated in potato starch and deep fried :)
What's interesting is that I didn't see any traditional karaage at the conveinience stores in Japan
no way i just air frye some karage too XD
"Cover the pan so nothing gets in there"
Did Gandalf try once Paul?
Yep.
How long would you cook it for in the air fryer and what temp? I am tempted to try it out and I would rather not cook it blindly.
For these I go 400F for about 12 min, just double check they are cooked through
Please, make chanko nabe which you made with the karate dude
Chef's snack? 2 missing karage 7:52 😅
Ah yes SuchefKP
we have the same thermometer
I want some
what does he use to track calories?
I use Macro Factor
Looked tasty

You should do food from the anime blood c.
Or anything from Clamp studios really.
I bet your sous shef is named Juan Hundred right?
Obviously
wow zerrro Dislikes that's actually very good
Dude, karaage is 4 syllables not 3. Ka-ra-a-ge
The clone Paul was actually a better cook compared to Paul, also gandalf says :feed meeee!
Nothing wrong with a good chicken hmm hmm
Gandalf looks so sad watching you cook
🤔🤔🤔 Do you bully your sous chef??? because if you do ....... shame on you 😳😳😳
Yeah that guy sucks.
