    Looks like you have a late model gm truck with gas engine. Assuming you dont have two alternators, does the truck computer complain when you hit it with the 400+ ampdraw, 2-3 times more than what your alternator will make??

      @chopperskier 4 месяца назад

      I'm pretty sure he said he used #2 (2 gauge) not #10. #10 sounds way too small to me. (10+ year electrician here) Definitely want that wire rated for the max amperage of the winch x 1.25 (80% deration factor)- x 1.56 would be even better.. Also want a fuse on that wire for what the wire is rated at, or LESS (so the fuse blows before the wire overheats).

In going to install dual marine gel batteries in the tool box, rewire the cables. That way I have more power and the winch won't drain the main battery.

      I've pulled a new holland l175 skidloader sideways with this setup. So it will handle quite a bit. I would think that the weak link would be the hitch pin. And if that breaks its no big deal. However I have had no issues up till now.
