I appreciate the "to the point" reviews. I had to quit watching several knife channels because I couldn't stand listening to them going on and on about nothing.
Great video. Really like the fact that you have 4 knives that fit each category. Makes it easy on people who are only looking to spend a certain amount.
Seems like we have a lot in common about likes and dislikes in our fondness of blades...'one big like' is the ever timeless design of the Drop point! Thanks Jay for another great sharing!
You all prolly dont give a shit but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Moses Maximiliano thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Awesome idea Jay. Love the video and the list. I recently have a launch 2 and I love it 😄. I would put also the coldsteel tufflite in that 40-60 mark. Man I love that knife.
Found some info about the Kershaw Link you emailed me back on the other day. Just received in the mail today and love it . Really like the olive green scales but it has a great quality feel to it. Putting it in the rotation tomorrow. Thanks for all you do Jay
Always a pleasure to watch your videos and a very likable presence you have. I really like Ruike flipper knives with nice quality for $29/$39 bucks. Love the action and fun to fidget. Surprised not on the list for a great price
Great video Jay, I appreciate the hard work you put into a list like this. If I did a list like this, it would be pretty similar, but for a couple of differences.... in the $20-$40 range, I would have a Honey Badger. They just have the most flawless action I have ever experienced in a sub $200 knife. The only other difference would probably be the inclusion of either a mini Grip in the $80-$100 or a full size Griptilian in the $100-$120 range. Those are just a decade old classic (at least the full size Grip is) that are hard to beat IMO, especially in the latest S30V versions.
Thanks Danzig. I like your additions, good choices. I agree, the Griptilian deserves a spot on the list. I considered the mini and full size for a minute, but I went with the Bugout instead.
Really enjoy your Top 10/Best of lists Jay and this one is just another example of one of your informative, enjoyable videos. I own six of the ones you have listed; Ganzo 760 and Ganzo FH11 OKC Rat 2 Keizer Begleiter Ferrum Forge Stinger Benchmade Bugout I have no quibbles with your list as is but I do have some "honorable mentions" $20- $39.99- QSP Penguin (in jean micarta, oh yeah) $40- $59.99 Civivi Baklash & Chronic $60- $79.99- Asher Knives Centri I own these four and would recommend them. Keep the cool vids coming Jay.
Thank you William. Excellent choices! The Penguin and Baklash both came very close to making the list. The Elementum was the knife that beat out the Baklash, it was a tough call.
Great video, Jay. I would add the Tangram Santa Fe to the under $20's. I love that knife: great price, good steel, lefty love, deep carry clip, gorgeous blade shape, bronze washers. Cons: jimping and thin point.
Great list Jay! You always bring it. I'm sad they discontinued the LCK, still looking for one. My $20-40 would have to be another Ganzo (F756). Love the Feldspar and Centros! I have the Elementum, but the size. Thumbs up for Tenacious (my first Spydie). Love my Civivis too. I bump your Para 3 with my Manix 2... Thanks for the cool list!
Thank you KB! I was lucky enough to find that LCK on Amazon, but had to wait about 8 months for it to arrive. To get mine, I just added the sold out listing to my Amazon wishlist and I checked it every once in awhile until I saw one in stock. That same strategy was how I got my Mini Recon 1.
Great job Jay 👏👏👏👏👏. I know that took some work but it paid off. What an excellent video and an excellent reference for people just getting into knives, and those ready to move up the price scale.
Great video! I got to agree with most of your choices as well. I would recommend the QSP parrot for a super value folder. One of my favorites as well is the Spyderco Sage 5 lightweight.
Hi Jay, thanks for your review, enjoyed it very much. Especially the CJRB Fieldspar looks great, I own the Ria model and what can I say: simply love it. And the Dozier is always a good choice... Best, Daniel
If your Opinels Pivor gets stiff, put it in the oven at the lowest setting (50°c) for 10-20 minutes this will dry out the wood and make it shrink just a little bit, then give it 2-3 drops of a thick oil. This will sometimes make your Opi fall closed and able to gravity flip out.
Hi Jay Great list with really attractive knives. I just wanted to know a little bit more about the bug out with the bronze handle. It looks cool! Cheers
Thank you Go. I bought the copper scales from Blade HQ for about $50. Then, I just switched out the Grivory with the copper. It was pretty easy to do because you don't have to take apart the Axis lock assembly. The new scales increase the weight to about 4.32 oz (122.4 grams).
The FH-12 looks sweet!..and I don't know if its the lighting or my eyes, but the blade looked more like a straight-back than a drop point🤔..either or..I loooove that bad boy!!! Another great video Jay, thanks!💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hey i know this was a couple months ago but just wanted to ldt you know that you can still buy/order the LCK. Along with the all black reverse tanto version.
3:44 you sure you cant take it apart and flip it? BTW, gotta give this video a thumbs up because you actually gave links to all the knives and i feel like the video was well done. i just wish you spent longer showing and talking about each knife even if the video was longer or had to be broken up into 2 or more videos.
Check out the Kershaw Tumbler. At $70, it is my favorite EDC. I have more and less expensive knives but this Tumbler is my favorite knife for EDC. It is a Sincovich (sp) design also.
I have the KBar Dozier with the hole, great knife and Ganzo makes decent knives. Kubey makes great knives and the OKC RAT1 and Shikra are great. The CRKT Pillar is also great. CJRB makes nice knives. Spyderco Para 3 is great, Shaman is nice, Hogue Ritter RSK and TRM Atom are two favorites.
I got the tangram Santa fe and vector. Stripped them back and cleaned up excess oil and they are amazing. Gave away the vector but with the cleanup it worked so well I couldn't stop playing with it. Got it cheap as was an Amazon shipping mistake. The Santa Fe though looking forward to putting it through its paces. Amazing amazing for the price blade shape and action. Kizer knows it's business. Didn't really like the felspar but I'd give the agave a go at some point.
I hear ya Sam, I'm a fan of the Santa Fe as well. That thin blade stock makes it such a great slicer. I know what you mean about the Vector, it has lots of potential once the action smooths out.
Awesome lists, Jay! I ordered a clip point code 4 right before I watched this video, can't wait to get it. By the way, I'm enjoying the heck out of the cjrb centros that I won from you earlier this year. Great knife. Cheers, my friend!
Yep, I sure do remember you winning that Centros David, glad to hear you're lovin' it. Nice job picking up a Code 4, I hope you like that one too. Once you get it, I'd be interested to hear what you think. Thank you.
Thank you for another cool video. I have four of the more budget end knives on this list; the Rat 2 Aus8, the CRKT Ruger, the Kizer Gemini G10 and the CJRB Feldspar in G10 that I won from this really cool dude. I actually got lucky and picked up the Gemini at a rummage sale for $25. It was in decent shape but in dire need of cleaning and tuning and it was missing the pocket clip. I got it all tuned up and it’s a great piece now, but if you know where I can acquire a pocket clip and screws, please let me know.
Lol. Wow Denny, $25 is fantastic! Even with having to do a little work on it. You can either buy a clip from mxggear.com or do what I did and take a clip off of a knife you don't carry much anymore. I harvested one from an ArtisanCutlery knife (a Civivi clip would work too). The hole for the body screw at the pummel end gets repurposed as the top screw for the pocket clip. Sorry if my explanation sucks.
Hey man GREAT VIDEO I love knives all shapes and sizes. I do have have a question though have you ever considered reviewing any of the Camillus knives? I have a Impulse 2 and I LOVE IT it used to be my favorite until I got a Kershaw Scallion for my birthday now that is my favorite and I carry that one everyday.
Thanks Patrick. I don't have any Camillus knives just yet, but I've had my eye on the Chunk for a while now. The Scallion is a great choice. I thought about putting the Leek on the list, which is kinda similar.
7:34 I absolutely LOVE my CJRB Feldspar large! And I need the Micarta scales, because as you mentioned, the G2 is good but there's just not enough grip. Still, for the price, I don't think you can get a better knife.
im waiting on my civivi elementum micarta from blade hq finally got one glad i went with the micarta since you said the g10 is hit or miss ive never had a ball bearing flipper so want it to be a good one for my first one and at that price cant complain too much i reckon i kind of wanted a copper or brass one but i know one of your other videos you said the action on it didnt seem right either
Yeah, you're gonna love that thing. Out of all the Elementum's I tried, the Micarta had the best action. I know what you mean about the copper, they are pretty cool looking, but man are they heavy for the size.
Hi Jay, I’m surprised no one (except you) brings up the huge differences on the FRN Spyderco knives. The Para 3 LW/Manix 2 LW have FRCP (I think it’s called). It’s more brittle and plastic feeling then the FRN on the Delica/Endura. It’s still OK and strong. My hands are at least XL but I love smaller knives and have 20ish including mini Kizer Begletiers and mini Domin, great knives. Also, 5-6 Spyderco DF2’s, Chapparel etc. A hard use day for me is cutting up 4 Amazon boxes. I’ll still carry a MT Socom Elite, ZT 0801Ti (favorite ZT) etc. I have one auto left, a MT LUDT in Elmax, great knife but no safety and never gets carried. Great video
Thanks Thomas. That is surprising because it was one of the first things I noticed about that Para 3. You're right about it feeling brittle though, but like you said, it should be fine. I'm actually working on a video that will be right up your alley - a top 10 list of sub 3" blades.
I like the looks of that Ganzo. I have the FB 765 and absolutely love that knife. It has left hand pocket clip too. Do you own the 765 or have you ever handled it? If so, how does it compare to the one you showed here, the F760?
@@TheKnifeBeater Hey Jay 😁. I like it. Its currently in my rotation, and quickly moving up the depth chart. I remember you liked the 901 model as did I. This one is bigger and a little smoother. It has that Ganzo vibe going. G10, 14C28N, just over 8 in, skeletonized, steel-backspacer-lanyard-glass breaker combo thing, thumb stud/flipper combo deployment, right or left tip up clip, thumb jimping on top of the blade. The clip is a little sharpish but nothing major. For the price, I'm hard pressed to think of a better value. Have a good one.😁
I know Ganzo made the FH11 with a left clip mount option for a minute or two, I have a black one (still need a green and a carbon fiber lam to have all the FH models). I didn’t know they made the FH12 and FH13 without left hand option ( both mine are right and left) guess there are another two I need for the collection. Nice lists, a lot of great knives.
Thank you Charlie. Yep, I remember that FH11 too. I had one, but I'm pretty sure I gave it away. Sounds like you have a very nice Ganzo collection going on.
I've always wondered why lefties can't use a knife with the pocket clip on the right side... Won't it still work in the other pocket? Or is it just them being ocd and wanting it facing the correct way?
It adds an extra step to using the knife. It is SUPER annoying to take a knife out of your pocket and having to flip the knife around before being able to deploy it. It just doesn't feel natural. And depending on the placement and size of the pocket clip, it can ruin the ergonomics of a knife. When the pocket clip is flipped, it is not resting in the meat of your hands but instead interacting with your fingers and that usually makes the knife uncomfortable.
Please tell me those hats are for sale. Great video, I have to get my hands on the Hawk. I was surprised the Penguin didn't make its way on the list but there are a lot of great options at that price point.
Lol. They will be for sale soon, I just ordered a bunch of em, which should be here in 2 weeks. I'll post something on the Community Tab as soon as they arrive. You're right about the Penguin, it deserves a spot and it came very close.
Great video Jay. If you want to send me that G10 Feldspar, I won't be upset with you lol. But seriously I dig the channel brother. Thanks for sharing and stay well my friend.
Before watching you i didn't notice the lack of lefty love because i was a lefty with love for knives, now whe will open a lefty front to spread lefty love in the world.
I’ve got the black bugout, that black HQ one 535-1902. Still grivory handles but mine is centered, was considering replacement scales but was worried about the added weight... not too keen over the slab sides... and then there’s the fad factor. I dunno.
Yeah, the copper definitely adds weight, which is why I would only do this with a crazy light knife like the Bugout. I just like the idea of the developing patina over time as I use the knife.
I'm so glad you said that Will because I just ordered a bunch of the hats, which will be here in about 2 weeks. I'll create a post in the Community Tab as soon as I have them in hand.
That Felspar looks amazing. And with Micarta much more. I wish that Civivi would make a bigger elementum or odium, for my large hands. But ok. Greetings Mein Freund Jay!
Great, more money to spend! Good list and some I'm not familiar with. Thanks, Jay! EDIT: Jay will be giving ALL of these knives away, and the keyword is DELUSIONAL
When your opinel gets stiff, put it in the oven at about 80°c for and hour or two. It'll cook off any moisture the wood has absorbed without affecting the steel temper and your pivot will loosen up.
I about had a cardiac moment when I saw a 20 min. video. Ok, over it. I wonder if a drop of mineral oil in the Opinel would help the stick. When I was 5 or 6 I discovered one of these in the kitchen junk drawer. I didn't really realize this until this moment, this may have been my gateway drug. I loved digging it out to use as it was by far the sharpest knife in the house. I love my stainless Squid. So much so I paid the extra for another with G10 scale. Still carry the original, though. If I have a 5th pocket, you'll find it there. Seriously considering a titanium or aluminum scale even though they are twice the price of the knife.
Lol. Yeah, this is definitely one of my longer videos and I usually try to stay under 16 minutes, but I ran outta fat to trim off. Thanks for sticking around Len.
I appreciate the "to the point" reviews. I had to quit watching several knife channels because I couldn't stand listening to them going on and on about nothing.
Great video. Really like the fact that you have 4 knives that fit each category. Makes it easy on people who are only looking to spend a certain amount.
Rick, you hit the nail right on the head. That was one of the things I was trying to accomplish. Thanks so much.
Seems like we have a lot in common about likes and dislikes in our fondness of blades...'one big like' is the ever timeless design of the Drop point! Thanks Jay for another great sharing!
Couldn't agree more Lawrence, thank you.

@Moses Maximiliano thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.

@Moses Maximiliano it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass !
Perfect example of a knife reviews thet get right to the point !!
Well done jay .
Thank you Adam! Btw, I got your email and I'm working on the response.
I love this review!!! So many different knives to choose from in everyone’s price range!!! Thank you Jay!!! YOU ROCK!!!👏🔪🖤🗡
My pleasure gg!
The Rat 2 in D2 is even better!
I really like the way you present knives and actually sound like you know what you are talking about! I enjoy all your videos! Thanks
Awesome idea Jay. Love the video and the list. I recently have a launch 2 and I love it 😄. I would put also the coldsteel tufflite in that 40-60 mark. Man I love that knife.
Thank you Gonzalo. You're right about the Tuff lite, great knife. It really is ashame Kershaw discontinued that Launch 2.
@@TheKnifeBeater yeah. Totally ☹. It's a great auto. But you can still find some in the secondary market 😄
Thank you very much Mark. The Ruike P801 was definitely a finalist, it was very close. I think I went with the Ganzo FH12 instead.
Great video Jay, I appreciate the hard work you put into a list like this. If I did a list like this, it would be pretty similar, but for a couple of differences.... in the $20-$40 range, I would have a Honey Badger. What a great video! I could listen to you all day (while fidgeting with my ganzo fh91 lol).
I have to say the Shreder looks real good to me.
Lol! Thank you Gilad. Happy to hear you're still lovin' that Ganzo, I have a new one on it's way to me.
Kershaw Link in 20CV, Speedsafe opening is a great deal for $79!
Really enjoy your Top 10/Best of lists Jay and this one is just another example of one of your informative, enjoyable videos. I own six of the ones you have listed;
Ganzo 760 and Ganzo FH11
OKC Rat 2
Keizer Begleiter
Ferrum Forge Stinger
Benchmade Bugout
I have no quibbles with your list as is but I do have some "honorable mentions"
$20- $39.99- QSP Penguin (in jean micarta, oh yeah)
$40- $59.99 Civivi Baklash & Chronic
$60- $79.99- Asher Knives Centri
I own these four and would recommend them.
Keep the cool vids coming Jay.
Thank you William. Excellent choices! The Penguin and Baklash both came very close to making the list. The Elementum was the knife that beat out the Baklash, it was a tough call.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CHANNEL
Great video, Jay. I would add the Tangram Santa Fe to the under $20's.
I love that knife: great price, good steel, lefty love, deep carry clip, gorgeous blade shape, bronze washers.
Cons: jimping and thin point.
Thanks Daniel. You're absolutely right about the Santa Fe, could easily be on this list.

Thanks Jody! I not only appreciate you watching, but the fact that you ALWAYS comment. It really means a lot, thank you.
@@TheKnifeBeater of course! Always gotta say "hi"!!
Fantastic video! Thanks for the honest reviews!
Great list as always Jay.. you only missed one category. $150 and over. Whoooo hoooo. Play with the high rollers .. thanks for sharing ..
Thank you Keith. Maybe that could be the part 2 continuation.
Your usual excellent presentation. Your direct style allowed you to include this many blades. Thanks for covering all those price ranges.
Thank you very much Tom!
Great job Jay 👏👏👏👏👏. I know that took some work but it paid off. What an excellent video and an excellent reference for people just getting into knives, and those ready to move up the price scale.
Thank you for noticing! This one did take a couple days to write and plan, but it was totally worth it.
Great video! I got to agree with most of your choices as well. I would recommend the QSP parrot for a super value folder. One of my favorites as well is the Spyderco Sage 5 lightweight.
Thank you Jimmy. You're right about the Parrot, such a great $20 knife.
I just discovered your videos and love them! I always see a knife I like already and another I want to check out!
Very informative!! I'm shopping and this vid was right on time! Thanx J!

careful with the oil though, mine got pretty stiff because the wood soaked up some of the oil making it swell up
That's awesome, thank you for the tip!
Thanks for this, it’s a great to have all these together. Definitely going to come back for holiday gifting!
You are so welcome M O!

Fantastic video jay keep them coming!!!!
Thank you Nate!

Thanks so much JP!
Great video man I actually had alot of these knives and the lawman is next on my list I have the recon but sometimes it's a little big for edc .
Thank you Duke. I know what you mean because I love the Recon as well, just not always the most practical.

once again, such a useful video. great idea for one by the way

i kind of wanted a copper or brass one but i know one of your other videos you said the action on it didnt seem right either
Nice rundown. The new Freetiger is also lefty friendly.
Thanks Andrew. I just saw that knife the other day. Did you pick one up? If so, how is it?
Great knives! A lot of familiar friends but they are popular for a reason.
Thanks FF! You're right, nothing really obscure this time.
Perfect! Thank you so much Jay!
You're very welcome!
Great video thanks jay
You bet Garey, thank you.
tank you sir its ah very good revue , from Normandie France !
Many thanks!
I love seeing some of the knives I own mentioned in this video. But I have a feeling most knife collecters have the same ones.
You're probably right about that Scott.
Great video Jay. If you want to send me that G10 Feldspar, I won't be upset with you lol. But seriously I dig the channel brother. Thanks for sharing and stay well my friend.
Lol! I should probably include the copper one too, just to be sure. Thank you Michael.
Hourra for Opinel. I just buy 2 Baroudeurs. One red and one OD Green ..! ^^
Before watching you i didn't notice the lack of lefty love because i was a lefty with love for knives, now whe will open a lefty front to spread lefty love in the world.
Lol! We do need more soldiers in the lefty army.
I just like the idea of the developing patina over time as I use the knife.
great clip , thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it Eilam. Thank you!
I know a good one in the $20-$40 range. The CRKT Crawford/Kasper
You're right, good choice. Thank you
Jay, how do we get a knife beater hat like yours??? I'm serious, I want one. Also, love this video especially b/c I am in the market for a new blade!
I'm so glad you said that Will because I just ordered a bunch of the hats, which will be here in about 2 weeks. I'll create a post in the Community Tab as soon as I have them in hand.
@@TheKnifeBeater That is AWESOME! Can't wait to see them.
Great list of knives
Thank you much Andrew. Btw, welcome to the channel, glad to have ya.
Good picks Jay.
Thank you Mick!
Have you tried any of the bestech knives they are pretty sweet for the price. And the action is pretty sweet to.
Oh yeah, I like Bestech. I tried to include one like the Warwolf or Lion.
The Knife Beater those are awesome for the money.
Bruh you are my new fav. The only one who dares to say the civivi elementum g10 does not open 100 percent of the time.
Lol. Thanks man, I really appreciate that.
Great one!!!
Thank you Sam.
Good choices Jay
Thank you Fubar!
That Felspar looks amazing. And with Micarta much more. I wish that Civivi would make a bigger elementum or odium, for my large hands. But ok. Greetings Mein Freund Jay!
I agree, that would be great!
Great, more money to spend! Good list and some I'm not familiar with. Thanks, Jay!
EDIT: Jay will be giving ALL of these knives away, and the keyword is DELUSIONAL
Lol!!! You forgot about the part where I hand deliver each knife.
When your opinel gets stiff, put it in the oven at about 80°c for and hour or two. It'll cook off any moisture the wood has absorbed without affecting the steel temper and your pivot will loosen up.
That's a great idea, thank you!
The price has dropped for the Spyderco Endura 4. I got mine for $67.
Nice video Jay
Thanks so much Shawn!
I keep saying I would love to see a bug out with a clip point .
Love this guy👌👀❤️
Lol. Thank you!
@@TheKnifeBeater HAHA, Underrated channel this is with your special charisma
Awesome video
Thank you Casey!
Is that a Toledo Walleye's tee shirt?
No, but now I'm interested to find out what the Toledo Walleye's are. I'm assuming minor league baseball. I'll look it up.
Bingo on the rat2!
N°6 and n°7 !! ^^
Oddly the fh11s does shows the lefty love, but the larger fh11 doesn't.
Yeah, you're right, the FH11 does have a 2 position clip. Unfortunately, the 12 and 13 do not. Thanks for watching.
