Similar story here. Level at 17. Experienced same symptoms. Told to take 5,000 IU's daily of D-3. Did extensive research and found Dr. Berg online. Bounced around between 20,000 and 40,000 IU's with K2 and started feeling better within hours! Settled on 30,000 doseage (40,000 gave me headaches) and continuing to improve on all fronts. My GP is clueless about K2, or higher doses, and did not suggest followup labs. This saga only serves to confirm our medical system is broken and continues to fail many of us.

Thank you for confirming what has happened to many of us.
As a woman I feel like we are somewhat discriminated against because we go in with all of these symptoms and they automatically assume it’s our thyroid. Or they assume that you’re just crazy or stressed out. I literally have been going for the past five years for all of these symptoms and then I started to develop a bone spur on the bottom of my foot. It was only until I told her not to give me any more prescriptions until they give me a complete diagnosis on whatever is systemically happening because I was having the worst insomnia, anxiety, muscle pain, now a new bone spur, bone pain, lower back pain, you name it. I am so angry because this has happened when I was letting them know that I felt like it was not my thyroid. I’m also angry because I live in the Pacific Northwest! I take my vitamins and I take my multi and a D3 but for some reason my levels crashed after having some oral surgery. Evidently when the bone structures are disrupted in someway, that can also deplete/lower your D levels.
Did your doctor put you on that Meagan does once a week for 12 weeks? I am on 55,000 IUs right now once a week. I’m still really anxious and having terrible insomnia. We all have to be each other‘s advocates now because our medical people are so overwhelmed.

Make sure you take K2 (MK-7 version) & magnesium. They are cofactors & absolutely necessary to get your body out of a Vit D deficient state. Otherwise you are just wasting time & money on the treatment treadmill. You'll also quickly deplete your magnesium stores.

Isn't it something how we trust in our doctors to be of our best interest and they like to side track what we're feeling . Everything to them has to be of their basic routine labs I've noticed . If it's not that then anything else in there eyes is considered internet science. It is a shame how vitamin markers are not part of routine labs . I was at a 12 in November of 2020 after being prescribed a horrible Antibiotic called Ciprofloxacin . Our days are not spent outside anymore (for most of us).
Buy 4000-5000u with MK7, and take daily with food. *Pills are not enough* - you need sun exposure also!
Also, take a broad base magnesium supplement daily.
Get 10-20 mins of sun exposure on large portions of bare skin either at 10am or 3pm (adjust for latitude and skin tone). Find a private place in the backyard. If you get sunburnt, shorten the duration.
      Eat dark leafy vegetables.
If you can, get an hour more of sleep each night.
I've had all typical health issues - fatigue, digestive issues, headaches, heart issues, mild/moderate depression etc etc.
I'm convinced the recommendations are not high enough. I believe some people are prone to not obsorb vit d effectively.
I'm a redhead, fair skinned, living in Australia - I've always struggled, consistently with values around 20. Levels need to be between 50-70 - a massive difference in health now. ❤

I started off with 5000IU but I am up to 10.000 because I feel a lot better that way. If you want to know the dosage you need to maintain - the easiest way is to take 1000IU per 10kg of body weight. So you would totally be safe taking 8,000IU per day. I always felt tired and I thought it was because I changed my hours from 9am to 4am recently. The worst part was I had very bad anxiety. I had chronic fatigue, couldn't work or go shopping or anything for two weeks maybe then i got depressed and thought my life is miserable until a got to the idea to let my vitamin d get tested.
The doctor said that this could not be related but he paid some attention and made my wish.
    I have got tested on 30.08.2021 with 16 ng/l vitamin D.
I started supplementing for two and a half months with 20000 iu weekly and got blood tested again on 19.11 and the results got doubled to 32 ng/l i was surprised because i never thought that.
Now i am not sure if i can say i am significantly better but some of the symptoms have got way better apart from sleeping.
I can fall a sleep but i wake up few times at night and can hardly sleep again. And during the day i feel restless :(
Does this mean it didn't relate to vitamin d deficiency? Because now theoretically i must sleep better and be more energetic!

      Sun Exposure
The best way to get vitamin D3 is through sun exposure. Go outside and get some sun, especially in the mid-day when it’s the strongest.
However, many of us use sun block, which is good for our skin but not so helpful when it comes to the production of vitamin D3. By blocking out the UVA and UVB rays, sun block can interfere the skin’s ability to synthesize vitamin D3.

But I definitely will start taking it everyday for now on now knowing that it makes a big life difference and also with k2 and magnesium like you mentioned I can’t wait to notice improvement with this after a couple weeks 😅and I also was taking anti depressants I just stopped taking the one I was taking recently since I automatically knew I was feeling the way I was feeling because of my vitamin D deficiency I mean an 8.1 is pretty bad and last time it was a 10.1 😬 but I definitely will be taking care of my health and staying on top of that for now on my vitamin levels. And thanks for the video it was really helpful and I feel less alone. 😅

@Diana Moore If you take higher doses than about 20,000 IU per day you need to also take high doses of Magnesium, Vitamin K2, Boron, and Zinc because the D3 depletes those vitamins from your system. That's the only way that D3 could be toxic. I found Jeff T Bowles information very helpful. There's another RUclips video called Miracle of High Dose Vitamin D that is an interview with him. Right now I'm taking the Doctor's Best brand, but am looking into others. High doses for long term are for helping cure major diseases. 10,000 IU/day is good for anybody.

Severe dizzy spells, extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, muscle twitches and uncontrollable shakes, lethargy, no energy, breathless and short of breath, aching bones and limbs, Sore dry eyes, severe anxiety and panic attacks and chest pains. I have always suffered with anxiety, but this has been on a whole other level. I had bloods done at the doctors and while waiting for that I had more dizzy spells and pain so I went to A&E. They checked my blood & checked my heart, but said all was normal apart from my heart block which I knew about. Anyway I was baffled. I asked myself "why am I feeling so bad and yet everything is normal". This made my anxiety so much worse. I rang the doctors yesterday about the blood test they did on me just to see if they came up with anything. Low and behold doctor called me today and said you're low on vitamin D and this will be causing your dizziness, lethargy and all the other symptoms you have been experiencing. He has prescribed me a ten week course of high strength colecalciferol to get me back on track. I'm so relieved that I know what it is and I'm hoping to God they work and make me feel like my old self again 🙏

I can tell that you did your homework before this video because of personal experience and the fact that I have been studying vitamin D for over 8 years. It's imperative that you take the cofactors: magnesium & K2. You will QUICKLY deplete your magnesium stores (which isn't much to begin with) very quickly. I made that mistake & was hit with TERRIBLE angina like chest pains & heart palpitations.
D3 & magnesium can be upsetting to some people's stomach (mine). If that happens, take Vegan D3 & Chelated magnesium. I've experienced zero side effects since switching.
