We know it's going to deviate from the main ff7 abit so we will just have to accept that. It seems the key story beats might stay the same somewhat but they kinda fumbled on the execution. I'm still expecting to be blown away by an otherwise incredible game with our beloved characters realised in a modern game with gorgeous graphics and I think that's the general consensus with most people aswel

I came frlm a 3 week holiday and was late into FF7 rebirth. I am at Gongaga and did so far everyrhing I could in previous regions. So so good. So wonderful looking. So diverse. The views everywhere are just stunning
it was surprisingly a very good game. it was cool to see the entire journey come to life also really focuses on the relationship between your party members instead just having them on the sidelines
I’m wondering does Rebirth wrap up FF7 or is it another Cliff hanger for a 3rd entry (Nvm little elbow grease on my part revealed it’s a trilogy) I’ll get dragon dogma and wait for this to go on sale
The story is good, but the excessive amount of mini games and repetitive world intel is a big disappointment, the ending was really good but leading up to the final fight, it was so damn long and drawn out in cutscenes telling you the same ass shit over and over, great game, but some major flaws
I've never been so immersed by a trailer before. Side content is what makes main content feel full. It's what drives you towards adventure and mystery. I've been having. A hard time playing the FF7 remake but the sequal remake looks even better to dive into. Really makes me want to finish the first game so i cant feel the full emotional impact of everything.
I understand the “minigame do-over” comment…. May not be the best way of handling it from a dev perspective. As I just played through the first half of the story without doing much side-content it became that, a battle of attrition. After actually starting to beef up certain aspects it all became easy peezy lemon squeezy. My recommendation; play the game for the story on whatever difficulty you want and maybe after just sink your teeth in the complete package. I had my nephew play through the story while I just did the completionist thing on my own save file 😏
I think it's a great game I just don't like the story changes they've made it hasn't made the game any better. But overall I'm glad the game finally got remade
I think Sephiroth and Aerith both travel back in time from the original game timeline to the Remake timeline and they are working against each other throughout the game
Playing the game right now in Oz, and controller stick drift will really screw up your ability to get S rank on these piano challenges! I have one OK controller that seems to be fine with these challenges, and one that is slightly prone to drift, though it gets me by on anything requiring less than this level of precision. Dead zone is a threshold, as is directional input which has two levels of registered input value. Sometimes, the rebound of the stick causes it to bounce back into incorrect directional inputs that may screw up your perfect S rank rendition.
The hard mode does remove the items like in remake, or are there different challenges? With the addition of crafting in mind it looks strange that they would choose that path.. Also what about the adaptive difficulty?
S rank equates to an absolutely flawless run, smfh. Took me about 10-15 attempts to S rank Tifa's Theme in the demo, and I can say it wasn't fun after attempt 6. Not looking forward to multiple tunes of likely harder difficulty to earn this trophy...

anyon else have a problem with the openworld stuff? there things that get really old really fast. like the spring "mini game". press triangle 3 times....no change ever. or the Ubisoft towers? also feels like there is nothing "secret" to discover because the game tells you you are done with a region. its checkliste gaming.
Final fantasy 9 was literally a tribute to the old school way of doing things, old school fantasy, it's a tribute to final fantasy itself, and would be such a stellar, stellar game to remake next.

This game breaks my heart. Its like trying with an x you missed. Then realizing yall just aint the same anymore. Bloated minigamefest. More needless forced slow moments. I know the moments meaning but ugh i didnt need to slow walk as each character back to back to back. Unnecessary. But then there are the moments i absolutely love and had so much fun with. Im really unsure how to feel here after them credits.

Pa5 pro could offer the 30fps quality mode graphics at 60fps. The performance mode really looks 800p, a massive downgrade from Remakes much sharper 60fps mode

No. The game is very open and lots of interesting traversal options. It never stops surprising us. I am into my 46th hour and still new mechanics and unexpected twists. Best FF since X.

No. Having completed the first part will allow you to skip Chapter 1 in the full game, but the second part of the demo is in Chapter 4(?), so none of that will carry over since it would end up entirely skipping Chapters 2 and 3 (assuming Mythril Mines takes up the entirety of Chapter 3, but we already know the section in Kalm and the Grasslands up until reaching Mythril Mines is chapter 2).
There's not much in rebirth that I haven't enjoyed the hell out of so far but I really wish they would have just made it all one game I'd be okay with in 400 hour experience screw this three part crap

No, there's a recap option in the main menu called "the story so far" or something like that. Red XIII narrates what happened in Remake over cutscenes.
I am loving this game so far. By far, the best Final Fantasy game I've ever played. Doesn't have those boring AI generated quests like 16 did. Every quest in this game is interesting, engaging, and fun as hell.
A whole bunch of multiverse bullshit happens. The ending is pretty much up in the air for interpretation at this point since it wasn't clearly explained wtf happened.

If you love VII but hate Ubisoft games like Far Cry and Assassin's Creed, you will have a very hard time... and the plethora of lazily designed minigames will mindnumb you to the point where you will contemplate picking up the game where you left off the next day. All of the inconsequential side content makes you question why Cloud and his follower do even travel together and what the purpose of all of it is. No sense of urgency despite Remake ending with quite a bang. Only "fun" activities to really disrespect your time as a customer and VII fan. I am super disappointed by what Yoshinore Kitase prioritized here. And these points are just the tip of the iceberg of all my gripes with the game. No, it is not the lack of an overworld map, no it is not the combat, not the music, not the VA, not the graphics. It is the pacing which is ruined by bloated chores which overlevel you and quickly trivialize the great combat while making you forget about the main quest's objective.

Not gonna lie, after about 10 hours into FFVII Rebirth -- I don't like it. I think the combat is bad. It's overly complicated and it isn't scratching my FFVII itch. I don't like the changes to the story, the cadence, the voice acting, or their rendition of each character. I also was immediately punished for exploring, because I wanted to explore before going to the objective.... then as soon as I went to the objective I had to re-explore the areas I already explored because it enabled a bunch of things I had already explored. I also hate that it uses the assassins creed style map discovery. I want to find things on my own, not have them show up on my map.... Bleh. Combat btw -- I hate because it feels like I need to control 3 characters at once in 3D space, including dodging / blocking and building their ATB.... If left alone they just take tons of damage against harder enemies. Against easy enemies -- all the enemies focus you and you get attacked by enemies wooshing around attacking you from off screen... So you feel like you're doing more blocking/dodging than attacking. I dunno, I love games like DMC and Dark Souls. This just feels like you're randomly getting smacked around from off screen... you don't get s from dodging attacks... so half the time you dodge, you get hit anyways. It just breaks all the rules of a traditional action combat rpg... you can't really trust or have faith in the combat mechanics like spacing/dodging/blocking. It's just overly complicated to use all the new combat systems, and I don't think it adds anything to the game. The classic control is super super slow, it takes forever for them to build ATB and doesn't really feel like it does the OG game justice. It's trying so hard to re imagine combat that it just misses the mark on all sides. I have probably thousands of hours in the original game. I love the original game. But so far I'm just not really enjoying Rebirth. I'm gonna 100% the game out of spite.. but sofar the only part I've been enjoying has been the music -- which is actually stellar. Also the card game is entertaining. The combat is a major buzz kill for me though... and the exploration doesn't feel like exploration when everything is on your map. It feels more like checking boxes. Bleh. I'm kinda disappointed.

There's not much in rebirth that I haven't enjoyed the hell out of so far but I really wish they would have just made it all one game I'd be okay with in 400 hour experience screw this three part crap
the game is good but i cant get over the new fightingmechanics so bad choise from the devoleppers. they turned it to another button masher
after playing team ninja games these battle systems just seem slow
honestly forgot about this game . why they broke it up into three different chapters is beyond me . just wait for a complete version to come out in ..who knows 2027 ...very very sad days.

No, there's a recap option in the main menu called "the story so far" or something like that. Red XIII narrates what happened in Remake over cutscenes.

I am loving this game so far. By far, the best Final Fantasy game I've ever played. Doesn't have those boring AI generated quests like 16 did. Every quest in this game is interesting, engaging, and fun as hell.

It's a good game . Like it more than remake. It's just so exhausting! You finish up one massive area, and you go right into another massive area.
game isn't even out, already 200 hours in. i know they give away free copies to reviewers and fleece the public fans. saying that i will not play and am ready to watch endings as soon as they are on YT

If you love VII but hate Ubisoft games like Far Cry and Assassin's Creed, you will have a very hard time... and the plethora of lazily designed minigames will mindnumb you to the point where you will contemplate picking up the game where you left off the next day. All of the inconsequential side content makes you question why Cloud and his follower do even travel together and what the purpose of all of it is. No sense of urgency despite Remake ending with quite a bang. Only "fun" activities to really disrespect your time as a customer and VII fan. I am super disappointed by what Yoshinore Kitase prioritized here. And these points are just the tip of the iceberg of all my gripes with the game. No, it is not the lack of an overworld map, no it is not the combat, not the music, not the VA, not the graphics. It is the pacing which is ruined by bloated chores which overlevel you and quickly trivialize the great combat while making you forget about the main quest's objective.

Not gonna lie, after about 10 hours into FFVII Rebirth -- I don't like it. I think the combat is bad. It's overly complicated and it isn't scratching my FFVII itch. I don't like the changes to the story, the cadence, the voice acting, or their rendition of each character. I also was immediately punished for exploring, because I wanted to explore before going to the objective.... then as soon as I went to the objective I had to re-explore the areas I already explored because it enabled a bunch of things I had already explored.
I also hate that it uses the assassins creed style map discovery. I want to find things on my own, not have them show up on my map....
Bleh.
Combat btw -- I hate because it feels like I need to control 3 characters at once in 3D space, including dodging / blocking and building their ATB.... If left alone they just take tons of damage against harder enemies. Against easy enemies -- all the enemies focus you and you get attacked by enemies wooshing around attacking you from off screen... So you feel like you're doing more blocking/dodging than attacking.
I dunno, I love games like DMC and Dark Souls. This just feels like you're randomly getting smacked around from off screen... you don't get s from dodging attacks... so half the time you dodge, you get hit anyways. It just breaks all the rules of a traditional action combat rpg... you can't really trust or have faith in the combat mechanics like spacing/dodging/blocking.
It's just overly complicated to use all the new combat systems, and I don't think it adds anything to the game.
The classic control is super super slow, it takes forever for them to build ATB and doesn't really feel like it does the OG game justice. It's trying so hard to re imagine combat that it just misses the mark on all sides.
I have probably thousands of hours in the original game. I love the original game. But so far I'm just not really enjoying Rebirth. I'm gonna 100% the game out of spite.. but sofar the only part I've been enjoying has been the music -- which is actually stellar. Also the card game is entertaining.
The combat is a major buzz kill for me though... and the exploration doesn't feel like exploration when everything is on your map. It feels more like checking boxes. Bleh. I'm kinda disappointed.
