    I see a Ktm Husky comparison coming soon. Nice video. I’m sure both bikes are amazing. Perfect for the trails around here.

    Hey, great vid. I just bought the same year, same bike. Did you get a skid plate and case covers or found the stock skid plate adequate? If you did upgrade those, which ones did you get and how are they? Thanks

    hey man saw you made a review of the KTM350 EXC as well and the husky 350fe. going to make my purchase next month!! (cant wait) which would think do better for highway to trail hop? you mentioned FE350 can hit up 70mph with no probs when you need to trail hop or get back to my truck...but what about the EXCF? or its about the same?

    • @OregonDualSport
      @OregonDualSport  5 лет назад +2

      They are both more or less the exact same bike. Husky and KTM are the same company (think like Chevy and GMC) and have models that mirror each other. We are actually about to release a comparison video of the two here in the next week or so, so be on the lookout for that. For now, the basic differences between the two bikes are: Different brakes, different bars, the husky has a linkage system on the rear suspension while the KTM is PDS, and the Husky has a preload adjustment while the KTM does not. Jaren (the other dude who runs this channel with the Husky) and I switched bikes last week and were both surprised at how similar the bikes are, yet could tell the very small detailed differences. In the end, you can't go wrong with either bike, its more just a question of weather or not you want PDS or a linkage system, and then what color you like :)
      To answer your question though, yes the EXC-f can do 70mph no problem since it's the same as the husky, however, neither bikes are necessarily comfortable to ride while doing it since they are just so lightweight.

    Nice man. I’ve been looking at a newer bike for over a year. I like the excf,fe350 and the beta 390. I test rode the beta 500 and 390. I was sold on the 390 because I haven’t had a chance to ride the husky or ktm. They don’t do test rides. Maybe I need to find a demo day.

    • @OregonDualSport
      @OregonDualSport  5 лет назад

      Beta's are great bikes too! Cant really go wrong there. Local husky or KTM dealers should have the heads up on future demo days, its the only way I knew I wanted a 350.

    Nice review--everything you say about the bike is spot-on. I have the same bike, same year, also live in Bend. Had a pretty crunchy Gas Gas 450 before this, and riding the KTM is like a totally different sport. Have yet to uncork it, but that's my next move. Saw on another vid you used a TPS tool to increase fuel flow to offset leanness of removing reeds and de smog and whatnot--are you happy with that route (rather than Vortex or JD)?

    • @OregonDualSport
      @OregonDualSport  4 года назад +1

      Glad you liked the review! I'm sure I've spotted you around town if we've got the same bike - can't miss it :)
      I'm super happy with the TPS adjustment results. There is a hell of a lot more power from the bike. There are plenty of nay-sayers out there who shit on it, but I've been riding all year with the adjustment and am so stoked on it still, so they don't know what they're talking about.
      The only reason I chose the TPS route, however, is price. I'm happy with the route I went, but If I could afford it, I would do the Vortex or JD because I know they squeeze out even a little more power. But for real, the TPS adjustment is a hell of a lot more than stock power. -Alex

    • @mattkettering9083
      @mattkettering9083 4 года назад

      @@OregonDualSport Good to know. Still have your TPS tool? You should run a side business. I know a few guys with fairly new KTM/Husky bikes who'd be interested.
      I've been in contact with "Jeff aka Bolt" (prob one of the guys who craps on the TPS?) on ThumperTalk about getting an upgrade kit put together. . .just haven't pulled the trigger. Def going the JD route if I do anything, as I can't really justify throwing down for a Vortex.
      Honestly, stock right now is prob perfect for my skill level, as much as I hate to admit it. But coming from a street bike background, I'm always longing for a little more grunt off the line. Appreciate your reply.

    I just picked up one of these last summer, Too much fun, It's sadly going to be winter here in Manitoba for the next eternity. Can anyone recommend some performance modifications I could do over the winter. I've already done some modification to the stock muffler tip that was way too restrictive. All in all it's been a fantastic upgrade to the WR250R I had previously.

    Nice bike. I’m looking at the 250exc. Everyone seems to buy the 350. I myself have a 350xc-f.
    Why did you choose the 350? Did you consider the 250 or 450?

    • @OregonDualSport
      @OregonDualSport  5 лет назад +1

      I came off that DRZ, which was a considerably heavier bike. I knew I wanted something that was quick and nimble, but wasn't sure which one I wanted. I actually test rode the 250 and it was pretty awesome. I loved everything about it except I thought that it lacked the power I wanted. In 2018, KTM only made a 450 as a "six days" version, and that was significantly higher priced, so the next step up was a 500, which I knew would be too much bike, so the 350 was the perfect in-between. I think you'd be happy on either the 350 or the 450. The 250 felt even lighter, but pretty weak in comparison.

    • @OregonDualSport
      @OregonDualSport  5 лет назад

      Have yet to do any, but the plan is to install an aftermarket ECU and replace the intake reed, as well as a new muffler at some point. Thanks for watching.

    • @Medickep
      @Medickep 5 лет назад

      Oregon Dual Sport what is the intake reed? The plug in the air box that was suggested I take out? As well as the screen in the muffler. I’m waiting to ride my first (weather is crappy here) and I watched a couple of videos with the JD ECU causing more problems, especially with bad mileage.

    • @OregonDualSport
      @OregonDualSport  5 лет назад

      @@Medickep I've been learning a lot from the ktmandhusky.com and thumpertalk. The intake reed is just a 2-stroke air reed put in to quiet up the bike (but totally a power bummer), so you can cut it out and replace it with a tube that allows for better airflow. Then, once you either change your end-cap on your pipe, or get a new muffler, you can get a new ECU or try adjusting the TPS. I'm about to do a video next week on that as I'm going to attempt to adjust the TPS settings to allow for more fuel. If I end up getting issues, I'll likely buy a whole new ECU. Theres a supposed 10hp gain if you do all of the above.

    • @Medickep
      @Medickep 5 лет назад

      Oregon Dual Sport I ended up removing all of my emissions crap, adding the JD jetting kit replacing the tires. I also went with the rear light off of a friends 2019 XCW and low profile turn signals.

      James Avery all dirt bikes pretty much have similar seat heights. I'm 5'9 and ride a bike that's a little taller seat height. You can lower them a few inches if you have a problem. But unless your 6'4 you're not gonna touch both feet flat footed. It's all technique.
