I was coming off a 2002 XR 400R to a 2016 KTM 350 EXC-F. The thing I felt right off the bat was I never get forearm pump and I'm never sore the next day...and by the way I just turned 57
Hi John anything else you noticed was a significant improvement. I'm currently tossing up between those exact bikes and would be keen to hear any feedback thanks
@@Alan-gp7yn geeze there really no comparison between the two bikes...the KTM has the best of everything WP shocks, Brembo brakes, hydraulic clutch, fuel injection, electric start ect....handles like a dream and has way more power in a lighter package....hope that helps ya out
I am thinking of going from a 2019 YZ250FX to the 350 EXCF because my WR250R went supermoto when my son got his license and as much as I love the YZ, I can’t dual sport anymore and this bike seems like the YZ250FX with a license plate.
Nice bike! I've had a 2012 350excf that I just sold and bought a 790 duke. My trail riding days are done.lol I also had a 2004 450exc that I ran dual sports and enduros in the 2000s. Scrubb pines in South Jersey, Ridge run and Hancock in New York State to name a few. I've had great luck with both bikes. The 350exc I put the most miles on and it was bullet proof. Enjoy and God bless!
Instead of throwing all that bling on the bike (and then complain about the price) go and do the suspension. Re-valve and air-to-spring conversion will make it even better to ride.
He has a golden opportunity to talk about the negs of owning a KTM 350 and all he lists is the friggin key location? He's fine with oil & filter changes every 10 hrs, valve clearances every 20 hrs, air filter every ride, fork service every 45hrs, top end rebuild new piston every 70hrs (racing) or 135hrs normal riding etc etc.. WTF?
Nobody follows the KTM reccomended maintenance guide and they are near bullet proof. As much as people want to say otherwise, these newer KTMs are even more reliable than their Japanese equivalents. There are too many names to list who have ridden the 500 around the entire world and they aren't rebuilding the engine anywhere near every 135 hours. You can get more reliable bikes out of Japan, but they have half the horsepower and are way heavier aka the CRF300L & XR750. There are very few people who would take those bikes over a 350 or 500 exc.
The intervals are kinda short yes. My experience with a slightly older ktm based 450 was good. In 300 hours I never had the engine open except for valve clearance check every 100 hours.. Original everything inside and it ran crazy good still.
Got the 250 pickup new 350excf few days time. UK spec bikes not as restricted but feel I need a bit more power. Few friends ride 2t but I find extra grip in mud & loose climbs amazing. Keeping the 250excf as well great bike.
Yes, I picked up 2016 350 excf and 100% agreed with this too. I bought used so I saved ton of money. The key location on 2016 is on the right fork so I have more access. I just learn to ride dirt bike last June and being on this motorcycle twice I feel like I improved tremendously.
Great video, fellas! 😁

@@Alan-gp7yn well over all the KTM is a far superior bike over the 02 XR 400....its a no brainer if you can't afford the KTM buy it👍

Any oil pump, electronics, fuel injection, overall engine issues ?

Yeah it Would fix his complaints
how many hours does he have on it?
Very nice bike, we use the KTM 350 F 2021 bikes for our tours and I can say it's an awesome bike for soft and hard Enduro 🚀🚀
Ha! I’m down in Monument and remember meeting you out on the trail once. Bike still looks good
Feel the same about my '18. Just fantastic.
What are the service intervals for oil changes? I ask because it looks like it would make a good lightweight ADV.
Do you still have the bike? Did you ever have to rebuild the top end? If so at how many hours/miles
Are you running Tubliss. I see to valves on the bike. I've never had Tubliss and want to know what you think.
Nice upgrades to the EXC-F. Thanks for this overview. Ride safe.
finally a real dirtbike.... i love KTM... need to do some off road videos with... next time tell him to get some video off roading it...
Nice bike, good walk around review.
Good Luck with it!
Don't skimp on oil changes...

Pure nonsense I have 18 500 unless you race hard core not needed maintenance
@@WAKO426 KTM service manual disagrees with you.

Yo, where can I find that graphic kit ?
Constructive tip, we’d love to see more of your face when talking with the vehicle owner

Great job guys, how about taking on Hardcore Tommy in a few laps for pride!
Great job on the show and tell. Makes me want a KTM.
Would this be a good bike for a first off roads bike?
I would say yes, especially if you have experience on road bikes.
I have the 500. It is an amazing bike
I found some Avon ADV tires being used on SM's. Maybe a crossover there.

if this boi says motorcycle one more time
awesome review. Do you guys have your own vlogs we can check out?
Don't ride a 2t, you will immediately want one. I have a 350 XCF and a 350 EXC-F and they sit most of the time.
The thing thats funny is i have a 350 husky 3017 an before that bike i have a 98 kx 250 ..
Only weakness is the side stand is weak ! The bike is perfect 👍
Yes! Why can't KTM get their act together and provide a worthy side stand?
Would u sell it Sir ? Amaizing Bike Btw
Ktm Australia. 21,000 for 500excf six days

As Ronnie Mac would say "4 strokes suck!".
Not bark busters
