That's my favorite too !... I thought it would be difficult to pass after Matt Smith - and at the beginning it was, a little - but Cappaldi has carried up Doctor Who to the level of a Shakespearian tragedy - and Murray Gold has done a wonderful job too; as Moffat did - like it or not !
Yes! Capaldi was the best of all. His acting, facial nuances, vocal inflections. The musicality of his line delivery. + Incorporating his guitar skilz. Even the writing & story arcs matched his age, looks, & experience to give our thousand year old Time Lord an air of authority; much deserved after the previous 3 younger incarnations.
Oswin Pond I really liked the track for when (SPOILER) capadi resisted the regeneration just before meeting his first incarnation, I also LOVED the music for when after he blew up and it showed everything destroyed and says something along the lines of "I was hoping there would be stars" and on an unrelated note since its unlikely you saw the comment, I overheard you talking to someone else about how you speak French! and ive learning for months now! Any tips? (Sorry for anyone reading and sees this as unrelated).

Precisely what Chibnall despised, throw away to the trashbox, and eventually did the exact opposite. And that's why DW turned to shit. That dumb donkey has killed all the magic of the hero, male or female really doesn't matter; what matters is telling your story sincerly, with your heart, brain, and also your team of workers, going all in the same direction and with the same faith you demonstrate... So much nostalgy for what is, for me, the regular end of Doctor Who, for our last DW's christmas special, in 2017. That's how it ends...
To me, this piece of music is about courage. Having the courage to do what must be done, even though it threatens to destroy you. Courage to face your greatest fears. Courage to carry on through your darkest hour when all hope seems lost. Courage to fight on for others. Without hope, without witness, without reward. I listen to this over and over as I take a little of that courage. Thank you Doctor Disco 😎. The most courageous of all the Doctors I've seen so far. I will miss you.

As if it isn't hard enough waiting for the Series 9 version of this, there's now a Series 10 one to put alongside it. I ended up renaming the Series 9 one 'How Many Seconds In Eternity?' purely because of the waiting game... the Series 10 one I've ended up referring to as 'Time Enough' to echo that sentiment again. Many thanks for your efforts to making all these accessible in a very decent form :)
I contacted Silva Screen Records about the release of the Series 9/10 OST. Here's what they said: "Hi Callum Thanks for your email. It's very helpful to have an insight into what Doctor Who music is being enjoyed and where - I'm sure we will be able to use that information at some point. The reason we can't release either album is that they are not available for us to license and until they are, we have no control over when we can release them. We also don't know when they will become available, so like you, we are just waiting! All the best Anna"
Murray Gold is busy and has had a daughter born only recently. No need to harass Silva Screen anymore. Murray will eventually sort out the soundtracks, send it to them and they will release it. No need for petitions or complaining, give the man a break, he produces some great work and has spent countless hours into composing. Hope this clears things up.
That's not the problem. BBC Worldwide sold their music rights to Doctor Who, Luther, Wolf Hall and most of their other shows to BMG Music (owned by Sony) sometime last summer. BMG hopefully wll get around to releasing S9 and S10 soundtracks.
Antonio Chasten Lost Son of Krypton - I don't believe that's true. BMG own the rights but Silva Screen will still be releasing it. However they can't because Murray Gold has not given it to BMG or Silva Screen to license and release.
DucksEverywhere explained what Silva Screen said and why they haven't released it yet. That's a BBC Worldwide call not Murray Gold. He doesn't own the music or has the power to license it or make the call on when to release a soundtrack. That's on The Beeb. For all we know, he's probably has all of the tracks picked to go on S9 and S10 soundtracks, albums mixed and ready to go but The Beeb sold the rights to BMG so at this point, until Silva Screen can get the license to move forward, we won't have S9 and S10 soundtracks for maybe another 5 years.
I'm not sure where you have got this information from but from what I can tell you it will not take 5 years to get the soundtracks, the rights being sold will not affect the release. I can assure you Mr Gold has not got the time at the moment to compile the soundtracks. BMG have no part in the release by Silva Screen.

There's a lot of competition, but I think Doctor Falls is probably the most emotionally impactful episode of Doctor Who. This music is a big part of why.
This is the greatest song in the history of humanity. It perfectly encapsulates the indomitable human spirit, the drive to succeed, the hope and courage deep inside every human. Of strength through adversity. Of getting up each time you are knocked down. Heaven Sent is the greatest episode of Doctor Who, the most inspiring thing I have ever witnessed. One man, trapped in his own personal hell meant to torture him into submission, and him, never giving in and never giving up, even though it would be easy. He pressed on when all hope seemed lost, stubbornly dying and dying, over and over again, probably trillions of times to wear down a wall made of diamond. If that's not a depiction for the amazing feats humanity can accomplish, I don't know what is. This is further exemplified with how the track is composed: each cycle adds in another instrument, at first sounding sad and meaningless, but as his purpose becomes clear, the new instruments add hope to the piece and then finally a swelling majesty to the unbending iron will of mankind. Whenever I feel down, whenever I feel hopeless, I just look at this video and remember BIRD.

What about a version where it’s This Time There’s Three of Us, followed by Heaven Sent, then The Doctor Falls? That way there’s an escalation to it as it rises to a climax, then leaves off.
