Arrival to Earth! Damn, I saw this comment only now, months later. But great suggestion, it‘s one of my favourites and been on my to-do list for a while!
There’s this emperor, and he asks the shepherd’s boy how many seconds in eternity. And the shepherd’s boy says, ‘There’s this mountain of pure diamond. It takes an hour to climb it and an hour to go around it, and every hundred years a little bird comes and sharpens its beak on the diamond mountain. And when the entire mountain is chiseled away, the first second of eternity will have passed.’ You may think that’s a hell of a long time. Personally, I think that’s a hell of a bird.” Murray Gold will be proud! 💙

I was reading an old book, as you do by Hendrick Willem van Leon, the story of mankind, published in 1921. Spotted something familiar in the opening page. High up in the North in the land called Svithjod, there stands a rock. It is a hundred miles high and a hundred miles wide. Once every thousand years a little bird comes to this rock to sharpen its beak. When the rock has thus been worn away, then a single day of eternity will have gone by.
The theme of The Doctor, I think. It tells you everything what you need to know about the doctor. The denial of the impossible, yet acceptance of the inevitable. The will to continue no matter how hard things get, no matter how long. What fuels The Doctor is all represented here: sorrow, fear, self loathing, pain, but, more than anything else, love.

Lord in heaven, this is just such moving music, so powerful, so sublime. The scene transfixes me in the episode and the music does the same. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
It took me a few listens to pick up on that first musical reference, but once I did, it was like being stabbed in the hearts with emotion. Brilliant addition, and touchingly executed.
Well, it‘s well hidden! 😉 Hint: There is a very soft violin in the background that plays a theme that does not belong in Shepherd‘s Boy, but belongs to Clara!
Love it! Absolutely beautiful cover! I would particularly love to hear a full version of this with vocals all the way throughout. The vocal parts work so well with this track!
This is the last song on the playlist that will be played at the very end of my funeral. I want my casket to be carried and lowered into my grave with this playing from start to finish. It's that beautiful.
Absolutely magnificent. Everything is incredible, so well nuanced. As someone who deeply loves music and wants to break his own wall with singing, I believe you've broken yours for your instrument my friend. Breathtaking.
Astounding cover, a job well done! Also enjoyed your bit of speaking at the end, I listen to a lot of DW covers and you don’t really hear much about the work behind it. It gives it a nice personal touch.
This was absolutely incredible! The visuals, the music...just.....incredible. I am still trying to place my finger on the musical easter eggs but my ears did get triggered a few times so on my third listen through. There is a point at around 3:53 where the vocals really start kicking in that sounds like the vocals in alot of the music in World & Time Enough. Also I thing I detect Gallifrey in there but unsure theres also something up with 2:40....I will update with my final guesses :D
Alright final guess. There's definitely ,in my opinion, a nod to the dramatic vocals from the Season 10 finale two parter at 3:53. My other guess, I don't quite know what it is but at 2:40 something is .....happening IDK what but something is going on there that perks my ears. My guess is that it's something to do with the 13th Doctor that I am just not picking up due to not being too familiar with all those tracks yet.
First off, thank you for the nice words! :) Nice guesses about the easter eggs! Looks like the musical references are indeed harder to figure out this time! I actually thought the first reference would be spotted early, but so far nobody noticed it. It‘s one of those things, when you notice them, it‘s like they were hiding in plain sight! :D But the second reference is actually hard to spot and quite.. abstract. I‘ll give you a hint about where to look! You can focus on the first and last 30 seconds of the song. Turn up your speakers or try headphones and listen for the details! :D
Astoundingly beautiful. Thank you to all involved in creating this. I noticed the numbers on the blackboard equated to the alphabet and subsequently spelled Bad Wolf Bay, but I'm unsure if that's a hidden reference or if it's alluding to your next cover!
Are you kidding me?! My grand mistery solved in mere minutes!! LOL! The answer is YES, Bad Wolf Bay is the key to figuring out the next cover! :-) Great work figuring this out so quickly and thank you for watching!!
I’ve been watching this video over and over again trying to find the clue... then decided to see what others commented on 🤣 I would of never figured it out! Thanks lol 💕
Good to see you, Luke!! The original Murray Gold version is indeed fantastic! Not just the composition, but the orchestra performance is perfect, too. Pretty much impossible to top it, so I tried to do it in a slightly different style. I'm glad you like my version! :)
Beautiful love the violin and guirtar in this version, so well played, and great atmospheric background, well done to all involved brilliantly played by all who made this version possible , hats off brilliant
Thanks!! Yeah, I wanted to take that concept "one step further" than in my previous 13th Doctor Theme video. It turned out a little more time-consuming to pull off than I anticipated! ;-)

And I should say thank you for listening and your nice comment! :-)
This is superb, brilliant makes me appreciate the greatest single episode of Doctor Who ever.
Thank you! Heaven Sent was brilliant!
This is the last song on the playlist that will be played at the very end of my funeral. I want my casket to be carried and lowered into my grave with this playing from start to finish. It's that beautiful.
Epic! Don‘t forget to regenerate at the end of it. 😉
@@BornaMatosic lol I speak for all my past and potential future regenerations and we say....yeaaaaa think we're done here when I go 🤣
@@BornaMatosic lol all jokes aside I'm in LOVE with this peice and you did an ASTONISHING JOB
Thanks a lot! Not an easy song to get right, since the original is perfect. Glad you enjoyed our version!
@@BornaMatosic bro you MADE IT PERFECT TO ME
The episode was about loss, but this cover and video is heaven sent!😭 during the violin parts! So good!
Thank you Lewis! Sarah‘s violin playing is the best! 🤤
I would love to see a full cover of The Doctor's Theme, what you did in Thirteen was great, but we need more
There will be more! :-)
Reading the description
-Peter Capaldi's performance as the 12th Doctor was *fantastic (absolutely fantastic)*

.....
*9TH DOCTOR FEELINGS*
You got it! 😎👍
9 was indeed fantastic!
This is so beautiful... Maybe you could cover "Sad man in a box" or "Doomsday". 🌠💙
Thank you! You can look forward to Doomsday! 😊
This was amazing! I'm so glad this popped up in my recommended :D the guitar and singing were so satisfying
Thanks a lot for the kind words! Happy to hear the algorithm did its job for once! 😉 Cheers!
Wow! Love the set! Love the music more importantly! Your music rings in my ears for days!
Thanks a lot! The Shepherd‘s Boy is another of Murray Gold‘s masterpieces!
@@BornaMatosic Yep. Murray Gold has made Doctor Who music but you've transformed it!
That‘s a great compliment, thank you! I‘m glad you like my interpretations of Murray‘s music! 😊
@@BornaMatosic I just bought the song from Amazon! I have put it on a forever loop which will go ok forever!
That‘s fantastic, thank you for your support!! Keep it going, at least for 4.5 billion years! 😬
Another awesome winner. I really love how you capture and even enhance the Doctor's passion for life in your covers. Really excellent.
The Doctor's passion for life - nicely put, Shawn! Thank you! I'm glad that this is the impression you get from my covers! :-)
The production quality of your videos are always phenomenal and they're a treat to watch.
Thank you, Jed, much appreciated! This one in particular was a TON of work! :-)
Oh. My. God. Sooooo beautiful!! You've done such a great work! Can't take my eyes off the visual part! Not to mention the cover itself! OUTSTANDING!
Thank you very much, I‘m glad you liked the video and cover so much! ☺️
Well, I suppose
One more lifetime won't kill anyone...
except me...
Absolutely magnificent. Everything is incredible, so well nuanced. As someone who deeply loves music and wants to break his own wall with singing, I believe you've broken yours for your instrument my friend. Breathtaking.
Thank you for the kind words, my friend! It’s true, we all have our own walls to break. Cheers!
The best piece of music ever written, epic cover
Definitely one of Murray Gold‘s best works! Those are some big shoes to fill, so I’m glad that you like the cover! :-)
This is absolutely incredible! I'm in awe, this sounds freaking awesome!
Very happy to hear that, thanks Morgan!!
Astounding cover, a job well done! Also enjoyed your bit of speaking at the end, I listen to a lot of DW covers and you don’t really hear much about the work behind it. It gives it a nice personal touch.
Thank you for the kind words! It‘s great to hear that you even stayed until the end and listened to me talk! 😊
wow, this is without a doubt the best cover of this piece I've ever heard, especialy the bit at 3:47.
Thank you! Much appreciated! Glad to hear you liked 3:47! ☺️
Nice guesses about the easter eggs! Looks like the musical references are indeed harder to figure out this time! I actually thought the first reference would be spotted early, but so far nobody noticed it. It‘s one of those things, when you notice them, it‘s like they were hiding in plain sight! :D
But the second reference is actually hard to spot and quite.. abstract.
I‘ll give you a hint about where to look! You can focus on the first and last 30 seconds of the song. Turn up your speakers or try headphones and listen for the details! :D
Is that claras theme really faint around 0:20?
It is! Well done hearing that! ☺️👍
Thank you!
The 12th Doctor would remember this for all his lifetimes. LoveuPeter
Beautiful. Thank you for making. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for listening!
This was beautiful and as with every time I hear this song it brought tears to my eyes.
Thanks a lot, Madeleine! ☺️
You’re channel deserves so much more recognition! Thank you for this and all your other incredible covers.
You’re very welcome! Thank you for your comment, much appreciated! 😊
Thanks a lot. my favorite track from my all-time favorite episode, and you're doing it justice
Those are some big shoes to fill, so that's a great compliment, thank you!!
What a great version, especially when I just listened to it on CD no more then 20 minutes ago.
Thanks, I‘m glad you like this arrangement! I tried to make it different enough while keeping its original „identity“ intact. :-)
Your music and covers have really help with what has been a really hard year. Sometimes kept me sane. Thank you and keep up the excellent work❤ 👍
Sorry to hear you‘ve had a rough time! I‘m glad to hear my music helped to bring a bit of light into the dark. Keep your head up, mate! ❤️🤝
Personally, I think that's one hell of a song.
Good to hear that it‘s not SO obvious after all, haha!
@@BornaMatosic ooh, is next up the Doomsday Theme?
Yes, Doomsday it is!! 😊
This is very beautiful, great job =3
Thanks a lot!! :-)
guys this is glorious
BBC needs to listen to this
Thanks again! Spread the word, they might see it! 😬
Another fantastic cover! This is one of my favourite Murray Gold tracks so I'm so happy that you've covered this! Keep up the amazing work mate! 🙂
Good to see you, Luke!! The original Murray Gold version is indeed fantastic! Not just the composition, but the orchestra performance is perfect, too. Pretty much impossible to top it, so I tried to do it in a slightly different style. I'm glad you like my version! :)
THIS IS JUST BRILLIANT! The music and visuals are incredible! Very good work!
Thanks a lot!! :-)
Beautiful love the violin and guirtar in this version, so well played, and great atmospheric background, well done to all involved brilliantly played by all who made this version possible , hats off brilliant
Thanks a lot for the kind words! ☺️🙏
ABSOLUTELY amazing cover guys. Had me teared up
Thanks a lot! Cheers! ☺️🙏
Fantastic, absolutely fantastic, and do you know what? So are you.
And you! 🤝
Absolutely amazing! Love how you've done the video. So effective with you actually being in the settings. Nice one :D
Thanks!! Yeah, I wanted to take that concept "one step further" than in my previous 13th Doctor Theme video. It turned out a little more time-consuming to pull off than I anticipated! ;-)
@@BornaMatosic It's turned out amazingly well. You should be so proud ;)
Very glad to hear that! :-) I definitely learned a lot in the process, so future videos will take less time!
Very well done. Love this piece of music, and love this cover. Thanks!
Thanks a lot, Ryan! ☺️🙏
How have I just now found this? Spectacular.
Thank you! Glad you found it! ☺️
I absolutely love it 🥰 Everything about this cover is beautiful! Hope to see more of your friends make videos with you!
Good to see you! Since you were the first to request this song, I‘m glad you like the result! :)
@@BornaMatosic "There’s this emperor, and he asks the shepherd’s boy how many seconds in eternity. And the shepherd’s boy says, ‘There’s this mountain of pure diamond. It takes an hour to climb it and an hour to go around it, and every hundred years a little bird comes and sharpens its beak on the diamond mountain. And when the entire mountain is chiseled away, the first second of eternity will have PASSED!’ You may think that’s a hell of a long time.. Personally, I think that’s a hell of a bird." - Twelfth Doctor
Personally.... this is one hell of an awesome cover! It was worth the wait ♥
And a long wait it was haha! Very nicely said, thanks!
By the way, any guesses on the hidden visual clues and musical references in the video? ;)
Omg!
I HEARD THE CLARAS THEME AT THE BEGINNING
Yes!! Good job, you found the hidden Clara theme! 😬
@@BornaMatosic That's amazing :)
Thanks! 😬
After years, upon revisiting still find this one of the best cover of this song, even better than the original. And so am still very amazed at your detail placed to not only the music, but the visual, and see the lighting of the person in each scene, it is different fitting perfectly. A hell of a video really
Thank you so much, Claudia! That is a wonderful compliment, both for the song and video! ☺️
It was a LOT of work but I‘m very happy with the outcome!
I just stumbled across this and I’m SO GLAD I DID. This was phenomenal! Well done!
Thanks for the comment, James! I'm glad you liked it so much! :)
I don’t know if you take requests... but I would totally LOVE to hear you guys cover “This is Gallifrey” by Murray Gold. It would sound so amazingly awesome with your version
